Jimmy not only arrived when he said he would, but also completed the work that day and professionally. My dad always says you need the right tool for the job and Jimmy shows up with all the right tools. he makes an otherwise pain in the neck job look so easy. Would definitely use him again.

Super nice guy, Jimmy. Found the probable cause of the clog (egg shells through the disposal every day). Had a lot of great suggestions for how to keep all of our drains running free without chemicals, too.

I had him come back. He put a camera in and did the job correctly. He didn't consult with me and I got a bill for $800 which was frustrating. I have used him before and I knew from using him in the past that he does good work. I'm sure that it needed to be done, it would have been nice to know. He has a punctuality issue. I was very frustrated. The price was reasonable. I would not use him again. 0

0 The price was reasonable, but it back flowed. He didn't test it to make sure the drain was clean before he left and it made a big mess, I was a little frustrated about that. I did have him come back and I would not use them again.

On Monday 12/23/2013, our kitchen sink suddenly backed up with water from upstairs units. As soon as it happened, we stopped using water. We then called our Management Company, who called Bay State Drain Cleaning. While we were waiting for Bay State to show up, more water backed up into our new half-bath's toilet with upstairs water. [*** We are on the 2nd floor, and the new half-bath drain ties to the kitchen drain of all units in the basement ***]. As time went by, the water started to go down. By the time Bay State arrived, the water had gone down completely and the problem seemed to be gone. Bay State would not listen to me about the situation. Worst of all, since Bay State was called by our Management Company for our kitchen sink being backed up, they would not look at the new half-bath's toilet. This laziness clearly showed their unwillingness to solve the issue by looking at different pieces of information from all angles . Bay State simply used the plunger in the kitchen sink and repeatedly insisted that it is working. To worsen the situation, Bay State told my Management Company that the backed up issue is only to my unit. This company is wrong, incompetent, and unprofessional. we urge Angie's List members to stay away from this company. Long story short, because of Bay State's incorrect assessment report to my Management Company, it took us another 2 business days to convince my Management Company to send another guy out from another company (Mr Drain). Thankfully, Mr. Drain listened to my description and cleaned the main line. Yes, the issue is from clogging in the main line. Once again, we urge Angie's List members to stay away from this company. One final note, we only approximate the cost of service because it is billed to our Management Company.

I had a big clog and back-up over Thanksgiving weekend. We called him on Sunday and Jimmy came over within an hour and took care of the problem. He had to go into the basement to reach the clog. He gave me good advice to avoid the problem in the future

Due to work on the town sewer, the sewage backed up into our house. After it was cleaned up, it looked as though we would have to excavate, remove the septic tank, dig up the driveway, replace the pipe and redo the driveway. Bay State Drain showed us that all of this was unnecessary. All we need to do is put chemicals in the pipe twice a year.

We had Jimmy and his associate from Bay State out to help us unclog a drain. They were responsive and able to snake the drain out. Unfortunately, it clogged again. After working hard to unclog it he made some calls and hooked us up with someone who could reroute the lines to get us up and running again. We felt he was responsible, hard working and fairly priced. We would use him again. Ken

My plumber recommended them. They were wonderful. They were very professional and on time. I called them and they came over half an hour later, which was amazing. They were very friendly. They explained things about the drain to me instead of just doing the work. It was a little bit messy when they left, but it was fine. They needed to do better cleanup. I would use them again.

Very responsive. They seem very busy but still answered the phone when I called and after a few minor scheduling challenges (some mine some theirs) came and got the job done quickly. They seem to take pride in their work, and took the time to explain things to me. I would definitely recommend them to others.

We called and they came the same day. Service was prompt, excellent, friendly. They used a longer snake than we had, and determined that the clog was in the main stack for the building (we live in an apartment). They reminded us to get a receipt so that we could split the cost with the condo association. Absolutely a life saver!

Called Bay State in a crisis - sewage backing up into tub and out of toilet. They arrived an hour and a half later when they said they would. Cleaned out the main drain, cleaned up after themselves and were gone within an hour. I have used this company before and I will use them again.

Bay State did what they could and were helpful along the way. The issue came up on a Saturday. On Sunday, they came by to drain the accumulated waste water from a catch basin in the yard, unprompted. Good guys. I gave a B on professionalism as these guys are a little salty. Great guys, though just don't expect them to show up wearing a freshly pressed uniform and not to curse once or twice. Given they'll be saving you from a blocked drain, you'll probably be cursing more than them anyways.

They got it fixed in two hours. Jimmy did a great job! I would highly recommend him.

Jimmy visited the house promptly with a helper and he quickly diagnosed the problem, which was that a vent pipe had dropped a few inches when we had some recent roof work done. When the pipe dropped, it changed the angle of the venting plumbing, causing consensation to build up at an elbow and block the vent. So no drain cleaning was required, we just needed to readjust the vent plumbing. This was something we had never considered and we really appreciated his insight! He recommended a plumber who could do the work. Jimmy charged us nothing for his visit and diagnosis.

Service was excellent. Jimmy answered my call personally at 7:30 am, by 8:30 am he had arrived at my house. Took 15 minutes or so to identify the problem and another 15 minutes to fix everything up. I have had no problems since.

I called Jimmy and he answered right away. He came over within an hour or two and fixed the problem quickly. He was very courteous and professional. The was fair and reasonable for such fast service (which was NOT my experience when we called RotoRooter a few years ago for an emergency fix). Would definitely call Bay State again.

I called at 1:30;. True to his word, Jimmy and his helper Gil were at my door by 3:30. They set to work immediately, cleaning our the root clogs with a mechanical cutter, which they inserted twice to a considerable length and, not yet satisfied, they used a pressure hose to blow the the pipe completely open. Before leaving, Jimmy made a point of encouraging me to put root killer in the drain twice a year so I wouldn't need him to come back. Despite the difficulty of the job, the bill was only for the standard fee of $220. He is a terrific guy, whom I remembered from work he did for me twenty years ago. He loves his work and is eager to get it right the first time. They don't come better!

Jimmy was very friendly, answered the phone right away, and then returned my subsequent calls quickly. He came the next day. Originally, was supposed to come in the am, but called and let me know there were two emergencies and he needed to come around noon. We then agreed that it would be in the afternoon. I called around 12:30 to get an ETA; he said it would be another 1 to 1.5 hours, and he would call first. He ended up getting here around 3 pm, did the job quickly, gave a few pointers, and cleaned up pretty well. Luckily, I had a flexible schedule; if not, it might have been a little frustrating. Still, I believe in that case, we would have just scheduled it for a different day. Am still satisfied and appreciated that we remained in contact throughout the day, to maintain flexibility.

The overall experience was very positive with them. They came very quickly and their prices were very competitive. We have had this sort of work done before and know that we were charged more. They also gave us some good advice on how to avoid the clogging of drains in the future.

Jimmy does excellent work. He's punctual, works quickly, and gives good advice for maintaining the drains (so he doesn't need to come back!). I would use him again without hesitation.

I spoke with him on Monday, had an appointment on Tuesday and within 10 minutes I had a functioning drain!! He was friendly, professional and prompt! Though I hope not to have any more plumbing issues, if I do I will definitely call this service again!!

We looked on Angie's List and called a couple places. We got estimates as high as $370. Since we are currently highly sensitive to price we continued to shop. Eventually we called Jimmy at Baystate. He returned our call instantly and came over in an hour just like he said he would. He was cheerful and got right down to business. But more importantly he shared some information about using "Root Killer" in the drain twice a year. We have had this problem before and no one had ever told us there was such a thing. Well this solidified our faith that we found a quality individual. He charged us a very reasonable rate (especially on the weekend). I highly recommend Jimmy's company, Baystate. Ken.

We called on Friday morning, and Jimmy arrived on Saturday. He worked very quickly to find where in the plumbing the clog was located. Turns out it was a hair clog in the bathtub drain. He was able to clear it using a power snake going through the bathtub overflow opening. He gave us good advice about keeping drain lines clear (with boiling water!) and about an unrelated tree root problem. Very friendly, very helpful, and a very fair price.
