They performed the services listed above and vacuumed when the job was completed. We are very pleased. This is the second time we’ve used Efficient Buildings and both insulation jobs went well.

Description of Work: After a Mass save energy audit, I had insulation put in the walls of my house through this company because they were on the (short) list of approved contractors. More important than the insulation is the air-sealing, and this was where they were really lacking. They didn't do any in the attic, just the blown-in insulation, and in the basement the sprayed some foam in some places more than others. I had to prompt them to put some weather stripping on the basement door- for some reason they were reluctant to do this. And they would not put it on the front door where I had already installed some but did a poor job. When I requested they insulate the basement wall (just a small section that is not foundation but rather framed with two windows but no drywall on it), the foreman tried to tell me that it was best to leave that uninsulated so that the cold air wouldn't get trapped in the basement! Strange, he couldn't have been stupid enough to believe that, but he just did not want to put up some fiberglass bats and plastic- likely he did not have any on the truck (the rest of the house was insulated with blown-in cellulose). To top it off, they were not able to insulate all of the house because they did not have any staging (the roof is slate and on some sections would have required standing on the slate)- but the did prorate the cost. Great. I guess I can still have a competent crew come out to finish the job. This is really just an outfit with minimal training and some machines to blow insulation. But with Mass save it's mostly the lousier companies that participate, or at least I found that the companies I wanted were not on their list. I suspect the reimbursement is not that great for the companies. I would not use them again, and at some point I'll have to get a more professional company to air-seal my house.

+ -1 moreThey're excellent. The person who came and did the work, I would highly recommend him. He was very good. He's excellent. They have good customer service. They did a good work. I dealt with the lady in the office by email and she was excellent as well.
Description of Work: I have used Efficient Buildings for insulation. The first time, they installed the installation in the wall. The second time, they repaired the gutter that had a hole in it. It was with the wooden part that connects to the roof. Water was leaking into the house so they repaired that.

+ -1 moreWorked with massasve to have insulation installed as well as various weather strips on doors/windows etc. Took a very long time to schedule. Once they came-they did some of the job and not all of the job and then continued to harass me for payment despite massave confirming that they did not complete the work. They could not provide an explanation about why the work was not finished and denied that I had spoken to Mass save or been advised by them. Additionally they were unprofessional and rude to deal with. Work with someone else who cares about the quality of their work and not just getting paid for something they didnt complete.

+ -1 moreVery knowledgable and experienced workers investigated a problem wall I had in my kitchen that was blowing in cold air from outside. They scheduled the work quickly and arrived on time and finished the job in less than three hours. Most companies would not come out for such a small job, but Efficient Buildings did the job with professionalism. Now I have a nice warm wall with no cold air leaking in to my house and I think I will be saving a cartload in heating costs. I wish I had more jobs for them to do, because these are people I am happy to do business with! Thank you, Efficient Buildings!

+ -1 moreWe found Efficient Buildings through the Mass Save Program. We participated in the insulation program. The people at Efficient Buildings were very accommodating in scheduling the work. They showed up on time and were very polite, organized and excellent at addressing all questions we had regarding the work - the guy in charge of the crew was knowledgeable and researched for us the best possible insulation and venting plan. We were very impressed with how diligent and thorough they were with their work. About a month later Mass Save came out to review their work for the program and confirmed what an excellent job they did for us.

+ -1 moreI called Mass Saves about there home heating inprovements program and after an inspection I found I qualified for a 2000.00 dicount. I applied this to the 3750 charge for the attic, walls, air sealing of doors, air sealing of attic door and studs in the basement. I ended up paying 1750 for all this work. They send two crews and had everything done in one day. All was done very professionaly and were very friendly. Worked with Brian Read to do the work. He did an excelent job.
Description of Work: insulation in my attic ,950 sq ft Insulated my extreior walls of my home, its a ranch. Foam sealed the attic eves and the basement around the studs at the top of the cement walls. Vented bathroom fan out through my roof. Fan was already wired by an election and ready to be vented.
