We have had alot of different work done to our home over the past 15 years, and this is the very first time that we have been 100% satisfied with everything...price, quality of work, time, and crew. Kenny and his crew were prompt, neat, and right on schedule. The communication was excellent, and Kenny worked with us on every question or concern we had. He was even helpful with other suggestions for things we could do to make our home more energy efficient this winter, and gave us step by step instructions! His estimate was spot on, and he came in less than the other two contractors who had given us their estimates. Ciampa Construction did a beautiful job, and it was pain free for us! We highly reccomend them to anyone doing renovations. Our job was relatively small compared to alot of the jobs they do, but he truly gave us all the time and attention we wanted, and returned calls promptly. They finished on time, actually a couple days earlier than they thought. In short, they were awesome!!
Description of Work: We had a small covered porch, foyer, and mudroom built off the original side entrance to our home. Challenging roof lines, and water issues were dealt with. Tile floor in mudroom, heating strip, bead board ceiling on porch.

There really isn't enough space here to describe the scope and scale of what went on here, so certainly feel free to ask Kenny about the project and he can pass me along as a referral for more detail (just reference the two-family conversion in Lexington, only a couple of pictures are attached here of highlights). First, and this is a biggie, we lived here while this went on for nearly 8 months - myself, girlfriend, two teen boys and a pack of dogs and a cat, and I work from home. Kenny and his whole crew were totally mindful of this, and it went without a hitch (though there's always going to be noise and dust). They are all genuinely nice guys and it was a pleasure having them around (no, they don't blast music, and they clean up every day) We started with a great architect who laid out the ideas, and Kenny went to work on the second floor unit first. It was transformed into 4 bedrooms with a stunning master suite, a from-scratch master bath in an old extra room, a fully remodeled other full bath and slew of architectural changes involving moving walls around, creating a walk-in closet, creating a new hallway, linen closet, and filling in an old stairwell to extend two rooms and putting in new windows. From there, floors were paintstakingly restored (both upstairs and downstairs) by carefully recycling 100 year old heart pine flooring - these guys literally yanked nails and recut and relaid it - along with a ton of beautiful old trim and casings. They literally and quot;deconstructedand quot; the house first, not demolished, made a huge pile of flooring, trim, casings, etc, and then went to that pile when they were putting everything together in the finish. We then moved upstairs and they completely blew the downstairs unit wide open, installing steel beaming, lvl beams (photo attached of one of the faux lvl beams designed to match and dress the real one in the dining room). They built a stunning new kitchen, laundry room/halfbath, sun room, mudroom, open concept living/kitchen/dining area, brand new foyer and entry stairwell, and finished it off by doing an amazing amount of work on the floors - both filling and leveling really old stuff from above and below. In addition, they completely overhauled the front of the house by removing a lower level enclosed patio and putting in large Azek-wrapped columns and new trex railings, moving the stairs, building new footings to level the entire deck/entry, and did all sorts of clapboard repairs on the exterior around doors and windows. It was really amazing work, and Kenny is maniacal about the details as are the folks on his crew. They literally pulled trim off and on to get perfect lines, cut and recut flooring to get perfect seams and joins, all the way through to removing stones from our master bath floor and fitting individual stones by the threshold because they didn't want to have cut stones butting the entry (literally laying them out and fitting them like a puzzle to repeat the sheet pattern). Everything went incredibly well, including Kenny's coordination of a large scale plumbing and wiring component that involved new panels, entirely new plumbing as well as coordination with an HVAC team that was building and hiding new ductwork inside his walls. Beyond the execution, Kenny is also a guy with just really great ideas. For example, he took a dead space between two ducts in the master bath and created a beautiful linen closet with matching door/trim, and he lowered a new large window in the kitchen over the sink so that the new quartz counter surface could extend out to form a deep counter-sill area - those are just two random examples (he also came up with the excellent idea for a faux beam in the dining room to match the real structural one, both wrapped and painted out in trim - they look amazing). Another important note: he doesn't just project-manage this stuff, he actually does serious work himself, from sistering a joist to installing and leveling cabinets and tiling - and this really matters, because it keeps him deep inside the details. At any rate, there's way more to say but overall it was just awesome stuff. He'd done serious work for my sister and so he already checked out well, and now that I'm sitting here in my new home office writing this, I realize just how seriously huge this undertaking really was (for everybody involved). Oh, and while it doesn't say so on his Angie's List profile, you should be able to pull up a bunch of his work on Facebook by searching for him.
Description of Work: Kenny and his team completely transformed and remodeled a 100 year old two family home into a stunning single family home while retaining all of the original desired elements (flooring, doors, etc). This was literally like building a new home inside an existing home, all new plumbing, wiring, bathrooms, kitchen, walls, doors, lighting - basically just the outside walls remain and many original windows. It was absolutely amazing.

Ciampa Construction did a terrific job of transforming our basement into a beautiful living space. Before the renovation, we had had a cluttered, dirty storage room on one side of our basement, and a dark paneled 1970s style space on the other other side. Ken worked with us to figure out our overall design for the space. They created an archway opening between the two rooms and opened up the space beautifully. They replaced the dark paneling with drywalland painted it grey/blue trimmed with a nice white for the the paneled cabinet woodwork, making the whole area much brighter. Ken created a custom-made mantle for our fireplace area and also rebuilt our bar area, both with coordinating beautifully grained wood. The whole effect was gorgeous. For the storage room, they rebuilt shelving and enclosed the shelves with white louvered doors painted white. They ripped out the old carpeting and flooring and installed gorgeous new vinyl flooring that looked exactly like wood and is actually more water resistant and resilient for a basement. The two areas of the basement coordinated beautifully. All of the workers were unfailingly neat and polite, cleaning up after each day, and Ken kept in constant touch with them, also coming over often to check on things personally and bring us up to date on the progress of the job. I would recommend Ken and his Ciampa Construction Co. to anyone looking for a basement remodeling job well thought out and well done ! Elizabeth Trafton Wayland, MA

Great job. Design was just as we pictured, Saved us money by shopping around for the best price on materials. Kept our entrance clear and put back temporary boards each night so we were not inconvenienced during construction. Kept the job site very clean.

The kitchen renovation went very smoothly in spite of the surprise of a bearing wall that would need to be replaced with a beam. Kenny handled the engineering and made it easy. We were without a kitchen for about 6 weeks but he made sure we always had a working sink and cleaned up immaculately each night. Kenny worked tirelessly with our cabinet manufacturers to make sure all the custom features would fit and work well. He had some great ideas on design which altered the way our kitchen is now used to great benefit. We are so happy with the end product and it wasn't nearly as painful as we thought it would be.
Description of Work: Kitchen was gutted, an adjacent wall was removed. Structural beam added, all associated plumbing and electric was installed including recessed lighting, appliances and floors redone.

Kenny is a hands on contractor. He was here for most every day and kept us totally up to date on all the steps along the way. He showed up every day on time and cleaned up before he left. His work is of the highest quality and he takes great pride in each job. This was our first renovation so we were very nervous and didn't fully know the ropes. Kenny was patient and explained everything then helped us make decision when we were stumped -- tile choices, patterns, light fixture positioning etc. He outlined the choices and helped to guide us but was always quick to say "it's your house, it's up to you". Kenny even jumped through some hoops when we chose complicated tile with an intricate pattern. His tile work is impeccable and his willingness to make us happy was endless.
Description of Work: We took an existing bathroom and remodeled it into a master and family bath, utilizing additional space from a linen closet and some space from a bedroom. Previous builders had told us it couldn't be done but Kenny worked with our architect to tweak the plans and fashioned two beautiful, compact and functional bathrooms.
