The Crack Team

The Crack Team repaired a foundation crack in 2007 & the warranty for water leaking through the repair is lifetime and transferable. We purchased the house mid-2022, took photos & saw no deterioration of the repair. In December 2022, we noticed deterioration in the repair with leakage. I reached out to JM, sent before/photos, & his response was defensive and blamed settling and adverse soil conditions which he said voided the warranty. He states this without inspecting the repair. We learned that the owner of the franchise that repaired the cracked retired & Mr. M took over the territory. We hired a structural engineer to look at the foundation and cracks and his report dispels the theory of settlement and adverse soil conditions is weak. Mr. M called the engineer and tried to discredit his report. Although Mr. M is now willing to honor the warranty, I want another firm to do the repair and Mr. M to pay for it because after a series of e-mail conversations with him, he is a very rude person and frankly I do not trust that the repair would be industry standard. I see other folks have had good service with this individual; however, that is not the case here. Caveat emptor! Mr. M has given me 24 hours to accept his ‘offer’.

The work was good, really good, it went excellent, great professionalism, and very responsive all the way through, the price was a fair.

John, came to my mom's home at the stated time. He repaired the crack,and let us know before he started what it would entail. John showed us the crack and informed us of every step that would be performed. I informed him of another crack and he said if it is not a major issue we could wait and still get the same price. Since the crack was repaired we have not had anymore water even with this heavy rain we have been getting.

I tried to have them come BACK out to fix the issue again because it is still leaky. I have had no response from them.

Went fine. Prior time this was done for other cracks by another company, material filled crack inside and outside. This service inside only. I don't know which is best. No problems with either.

The house is vintage 1930. Foundation / cellar walls consist of large granite and quot;bouldersand quot; and there were several spaces and areas between boulders that looked worn through and open. The contractor responded to my call promptly and we arranged for him to look at foundation / cellar walls and give an opinion of scope of job with a and quot;quoteand quot;. He arrived on the agreed upon date and time. he inspected foundation / cellar walls and explained the work process and material that he would use. I decided to contract with him to do the work and didn't get any other opinions/quotes. We established a date for the work. He arrived on the date and did the work during that day. I find no fault with the outcome of his work.

John is the kind of person you just don't think exists anymore. In addition to filling the cracks, he was obliging about our schedule and even offered advice on things we could do to divert water from the foundation. He worked tirelessly to get the job done, cleaned up after himself, and was very pleasant to deal with. HIGHLY recommend John!

If they were not the cracks do not need mending. If the water is coming up through the floor a different solution is needed, requiring work from a different provider.

Arrived on time, proceeded immediately with repairs, explaining every facet of the procedure, and finished with a clean and neat completion. Quality work at a very fair price. I would recommend him highly Ken Kellaway

I had increasing amounts of water coming through my fieldstone foundation into my basement so I called the CrackTeam based on Angie's List feedback and relevance. John is very professional and very easy to talk to. I explained what was going on and he clearly explained what he proposed to do and how much it would cost. He then asked me if I had checked my gutters and downspouts. I said that I had checked and they seemed fine. We scheduled an appointment for him to come out, chip away around the interior crack and seal it with cement. A week later, thinking about what John had said, I went outside to doublecheck the downspout *during* a rainstorm (not a light rain), I found a vertical seam had split a couple feet of the ground. John had said on the phone that the flexible plastic downspout extensions can make an unbelievable difference so I went to home depot, bought 2, put them on and waited. The next day we had more heavy rain - not a drop in the basement. A week later we had more rain - no water. So I called John back and told him -mentioning this is not a great time for our family to be spending money. He was very gracious about it - he agreed that we should cancel the work appointment and said when I was ready to have the work done, he'd be happy to do it. They were high on price and very good on quality. My experience with them was positive. I would consider working with them in the future.

This was a recurring problem until we found the Crack Team. No fuss. Clean work. Very happy with result.

They were very helpful. We were concerned about water damage and everything else in the basement. They showed us how we could fix it on our own without having to spend money. They gave us an estimate for some work that could be done down the road. I thought that they were great. They came right out and told us what we could do to stop the problem. They told us to give them a call if there was anything further going on. They were excellent.

We were so impressed with how they didn't want to "soak" us for things we didn't need and to help us keep the basement dry in the future. We took their ideas and our basement has been dry since. We will be filling in the crack in the future and won't hesitate to call The Crack Guy.

Existing hydraulic cement was cleaned up and crack was filled with their material. Everything looks very clean and professional. I am very pleased with their professionalism. I am assured several times that if, in the rare occassion, that water still trickled in, take a digital picture or mark the spot -- and call them. They will come and patch that location under warranty. Based on what I've seen, I have full confident that if that happens, they will come to fix it for good. Not something I usually feel with other contractors. Great job. Great people.

The Crack Man was extremely helpful and informative over the phone and then came to take a look at my place. He spent more than an hour looking things over and ended up advising us not to move forward with any repair work. He said the repairs would be costly, and this years rains were unusually strong. To save us unnecessary repairs he suggested I keep an eye on the water damage and call him if it continued to get worse. A few months later and we are dry as a bone here, but it helps to know I have such a helpful team in my rolodex if anything should happen again.

Called and spoke to Johnny. Turns out that they didn't necessarily service my part of town but he said he would come anyway. He gave me an estimate on the phone. Showed up and did the work quickly and charged me the same amount as estimated. Great work! No problems w/ further leaks from the bulkhead and Johnny offered to fix any additional cracks at a discounted rate if they ever became problematic. Great service! Would definitely recommend...for the customer service alone. :)

Based on my description of the crack he gave an estimate over the phone, came out a few days later and sealed it up with epoxy and injected the crack with an expanding sealer.

I found two cracks in the basement wall when the severe storm hit in this area. The water leaked quite a lot through one of the cracks and made a puddle in the basement floor. The other one was pretty small making the wall wet, but I wanted to fix it as well. I got estimates from a couple of companies including The Crack Team, which gave the best price estimate with the longest warranty (for the life of the construction) than the others. I set up an appointment and the serviceman arrived on time. He showed that the crack was fixed by the previous owner with cement, but it was incomplete and just hid the crack. He explained to me what will be done to fix the cracks in detail. I also asked him to examine another spot where I had water stain, and he suggested not to fix because there's in fact no crack there, and no evidence of water leak there. I was quite happy about the unbiased feedback. I haven't had another storm yet, and I may update this review after the storm, but I feel completely prepared for the next big storm now.

The Crack Team was punctual and very professional. Their cost was significantly ($1,500) below other estimates. It was clear that they specialized in this task. Amazingly, they offer a lifetime warranty, but given the quality of their work I don't think it's necessary.
