The designer was helpful but service and response timing was too long. The labor estimate was deceptive at best as well as the "discount" for an all-in price. The discount was about equal to the taxes on the cabinets...which I found out through Lowes does NOT need to be charged if the installation is done by the same company supplying the cabinets - its in Massachusetts law. In addition, they were unwilling to break out the labor quote which is unreasonable to me if you're spending $100k. Don't fall for their advertising.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodel...budget $50k to $70k...Norfolk Kitchen & Bath's estimate came in at $95k. We are doing it now with other suppliers and contractors within budget...unfortunately we paid their "design fee" which was basically our design they put into CAD.

[Member Name Removed], thanks for your review. We are sorry that you feel this was a deceptive process or took too long. We invest design hours and adjustments to the design to make your project exactly what you want and need, and there are many details that are considered in a project that large. We do charge a retainer/ design fee of $ 1500, which goes towards your purchase when that many details are involved for a project that large. We follow the law and are very transparent when working with our clients and are sorry that you feel that the process is deceptive. Our company has installed thousands of kitchens with many happy results. We hope that your project was completed to your satisfaction, even though it was with another company.

I highly recommend Norfolk Kitchen and Bath for professional planning and quality service on all remodeling jobs. Darby Kominick was the designer for my kitchen remodel and she did a fantastic job. She patiently answered all my questions and guided me to make the right decisions on cabinets, countertops, flooring, and hardware. She came to my home to make sure measurements were exact and responded right away to my phone calls and emails. She even went above and beyond to offer advice and photos for lighting. Darby is extremely knowledgeable and has tons of experience as a designer. I am so glad I made the decision to work with NKB and appreciate the personalized service that Darby provided.

Worse experience I have ever had with any contractor. This project started with us entering their building in October of 2021. Should have gone with my gut feeling but needed work done. Designer to me appeared to be hungover. We were directed to pick out fixtures from one of the distributors that they use, which we did. Waited a week or so to hear back, the designer said the company didn't send the information about the product we chose. They did. I.T. problem or so the designer said. After that they sent out someone to measure the rooms. We get a call in December to sign the contract with the plans that they designed. A nonrefundable down payment of $19,000. for materials was given. No further contact for over 2 months. When they contacted use we were informed the project would start soon and the project manager would contact use within the week. 3 weeks later my wife reached out and left a message with said project manager. No response. Again she reached out, nothing . She called 3 times with no call back over the course of a month. She even tried his email, nothing. I finally reached him and wanted to know why he never responded back to my wife. I got some flip answer and then told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of his management skill's. He said he didn't what to work with us. 3 more weeks go by my wife reaches out again they told her they thought we fired them. $19,000. nonrefundable money in no way we were firing them. Finally the project starts 7 months after we first walked into the showroom. The tile team, plumber and electrician are all subcontracted out. They did a good job except some tile work needed redoing. the Finished work was Norfolk people. Now the problems start. Baseboard behind toilet jammed in that every time one sits down it creeked as if you were crashing threw the floor. The shower door was hung at an angle, they forgot to secure the bracket to the wall. There was some other small things that needed their attention. bathroom 1 done end of May, sort of. Bathroom 2 doesn't start till the end of June. Demo team puts 2 holes in the adjacent wall to the bathroom. The install them would show one day and then nothing. We needed to constantly call them to find out if anyone was working every day. Some days they where supposed to show up only for them to call later telling us they were not coming. extremely poor communications. The design guy must not have looked at the measurements, the shower door didn't fit. I'm the one who figured that out and called them. The toilet was missing parts. A grab bar was missing parts and the wrong finish was on 1 of the hardware. Asked the install team if this has ever happened before and they said no. Finally after over 8 weeks the project was "complete", I failed to mention Norfolk does not PAINT! The trim work and caulking is now the responsibility of the painter, but they ordered 3 tubes they never used? 2 bathrooms measuring about 8x6 took 10 months to "complete" for a total of over $59,000. dollars. My next door neighbor seen the first bathroom and decided to get theirs done by someone else. Both bathrooms materials and install completed from the time the first was done and the second one started. Plus their guy's painted and all this for less then the cost of one of our bathrooms. I thought for a time we hired the Three Stooges! Please let my misfortune not happen to you, USE ANYONE ELSE!
