They gave the time to meet twice and both the times nobody showed up at our place. Just wasted my time and didn't bother to call me up for not showing up on scheduled time. Highly unprofessional.

Overall, we had a positive experience with this company. Neal responded to my requests for a quote right away. He found a time that worked for my husband and myself - very accommodating. He took samples of the materials in our home that we thought might be asbestos containing and sent them off for testing. His quote and timeframe were better than the other companies that quoted us. Once we set up a time/date, they were very responsive and punctual. The crew that came out to do the work was professional and explained what they were going to do. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and friendliness of the employees.

I contacted Nealcass, Inc. by telephone to provide an estimate for the removal of asbestos from two boilers and pipes in the basement of our home. The company representative promptly answered my call and scheduled a time to come to our home to actually see the work to be performed. The company representative was delayed for our appointment but gave a call to say that he was in route. After viewing the needed work, the company representative indicated that he would send us an estimate. The company emailed an estimate though I had to call for it. However, the company explained that an estimate was sent to me earlier by email. Nevertheless, the company resent the estimate which was received without difficulty. The estimate was fair and competitive. The company representatives were pleasant and professional. We did not use the asbestos removal services of Nealcass, Inc. but we were satisfied with the company's response to our request for an estimate.

The technician arrived ahead of the scheduled time. He worked steadily for 4 hours and completed the job. This fit the expected time estimate. The inspector came and the asbestos removal passed the inspection. The technician left the basement spotless. I would heartily recommend this company!

Nealco was a pleasure to work with. They were responsive on the phone as well as email. Their price was the best I could find for removal of asbestos from steam pipes in my basement. They performed the task quickly and cleanly. Make sure to ask if you can help them with anything to prep for their work, they are very descriptive and will explain all that is needed.

I called Nealco to set up a quote on some popcorn ceiling removal that had trace amounts of asbestos. Neal called me back and explained to me exactly what "trace" amounts really means and what my options are. He was honest and didn't try and sell me something that wasn't needed. I certainly won't hesitate to call them back if future needs arise.

Apparently when they cut one of the pipes leading into/out of the boiler, all of the water that was in the radiators throughout the house came flowing out on top of them and all over the basement. Fortunately for them it was summer and the water wasn't hot. Fortunately for me I don't have a finished basement. They did an okay job of cleaning up the water that flowed out all over the place, including outside of the "containment" area. If it wasn't for the traces of damp sooty residue on the floor, I never would've known anything happened. But they were honest when I asked about it when I came downstairs to check on things. They had estimated it would take a full day (8-10 hours), but they were out of there in 6 hours - even with the water mishap.

Based on review of Angie's List, I called this company to ask for an assessment and estimate in 2009. On the stated day/time, a company representative assessed the job and informed I would receive the formal "bid" via email. The representative also informed it was not critical to remove the asbestos since it wasn't a large amount, it was "contained", and it was okay as long as it was not touched/handled in any way. Very shortly thereafter, I received the formal "bid" via email. For various reasons, I did not have the job done in 2009. But, in 2010 I needed to have it done prior to oil to gas heating system conversion. I contacted this company and was informed that the "bid" of the previous year was still firm. They came on designated date and removed the asbestos in efficient and legal manner, according to Massachusetts regulations. I experienced no problems.

4 or 5 workers arrived on time and proceeded to cover everything in plastic. I was not around for most of the time so do not know the details of what they did.

As part of a puchase and sale agreement, the seller agreed to remediate a mold infestation in the attic of the house. The mold is visible and pervasive throughout the attic space, including the insulation. Nealco Too was retained by the seller to perform the service. We - the buyers - requested that the date of service be forwarded to us so we could observe the work. The company did not respond to this request. Just prior to the closing, an invoice was produced which billed the homeowner approximately $3500.00 for the work. We called the company and requested a detailed report of the work, including what types of mold were found and what method(s) was used to address them. As part of the pre-closing inspection walk-through, it became obvious that the mold issue was not resolved. We recieved a three sentence letter from the company which states "Nealco Too has performed a full mold remediation of the attic area at the above referenced location. All work was performed in full containment and under negative air pressure. Area has been treated with Bio World Foggin agient to kill any existing mold spores throughout the contained space." Two problems with this "report" - one is that Bio World does not even sell a product that addresses mold, the closest product they sell would be to address algae blooms. The second is the negative air pressure. Negative air pressure means that outside air is being drawn into the space, in other words the air in the space is being sucked out and replaced with outside air. You could not use a fogging agent under a contained negative air pressure situation because you would simply be sucking the fogging agent out. If the space truly were contained, which it shows no evidence of having been so, the fogger would create a positive air pressure. Obviously the company has very little knowledge on this subject. It did appear as though someone used a stiff bristle broom to brush some of the surface areas of the sheathing as far as they could reach from the center aisle walkway, and the insulation is also still in place. Since this did not cost us anything we have decided it is not worth the hassle to have the company adrdress this issue. We will address it on our own with a proven company, but we are pursuing legal means of compensation. If you want to avoid these kind of issues, do not use this company.

They were very responsive in setting up the estimate and scheduled the work quickly (but be aware that the permit process takes 2 weeks). Their estimate was a good $2500 less than other estimates, and they got the work done in 2 days, as opposed to 4-5 days that other companies quoted. Once they started taking down the ceilings, they discovered that it was a lot more work than originally thought, but they stuck to the original estimated price. They started the job on a Friday, and when they didn't make as much progress as they wanted, they came in on Saturday and finished, in spite of having allotted Monday for any additional work. As a result, they finished 2 days before the projected end date. A couple of things that bothered me, although these may be things that are not unusual with this type of work: (1) most of the strapping had been removed along with the popcorn, so that the light fixtures were dangling from the ceilings by their wires (and caused the plastering job to cost about $500 more than original estimate); (2) the light fixture in the foyer was damaged (they said that it just needed to be screwed back together, but said screw was nowhere to be found);(3) when I thanked the foreman who worked on Saturday for coming in, he said, "Believe me, I didn't want to." Since the light fixture was apparently damaged on that day, his response was rather off-putting.

They were reasonable and professional. I just had the door open because I wasn't there when they came but they did get it done on time. They also cleaned up after themselves

Nealco did not arrive first thing in the morning as had been promised. I had to make a call to the oil company to track them down. However, once on site, they performed their task well & the ensuing air report was well below EPA requirements. Particular kudos go to the foreman of the job, Billy, who was most respectful of the home beyond the job at hand. He even went the extra mile by coming back, after the furnace was removed by another company, to wet-vac the soot off the basement floor.

Nealco runs a top notch shop. They showed up when promised. They contained the area and removed the asbestos. After they were done and gone, I started a demolition project; the basement was finished around 30 years ago. I found some areas that needed further attention. They came out the following day and removed what was left. I would definitely hire these guys again.
