HEALTHY HOMES CLEANING

Daniella has been doing biweekly cleanings for us for several months now. She is punctual, polite, personable, and trustworthy. As advertised, HHC uses green products for their cleaning - they bring their own supplies. Daniella lets us know if she encounters problems (for example, if a sink is not draining properly). This company charges more than most cleaning companies; but they use non-toxic products and provide a reliable service. On the rare occasions when we have to negotiate a change to our regular biweekly cleaning schedule, both Daniella and Melissa (the owner) have been very accommodating.

I cancelled permanently. The head maid left her scarf at my house. I called her repeated every 2-3 months for 6 months. She said she would drop by to get it. I left it on my back porch but to no avail. I then donated it to Vietnam Vets.

Overall, the experience was terrible. Not only did the company cancel at the last moment or not show, but many of the cleanings were unsatisfactory and the company still charged us full price for some of those unsatisfactory cleanings or in other cases offered only a partial refund. We've politely raised concerns several times and were patient as the company owner slowly tried to resolve the issues, but often we had to follow up with the owner several times in order to get a response. Most of the time, when we did get a response, excuses about all the things going on in the owner's or the employees' personal lives were made (e.g. illness and doctor appointments, trouble at school with a child, car problems, etc.). As clients, we depended on the company for a service that the company did not reliably provide. While we understood that a crisis might arise occasionally (resulting in an unexpected cancellation or late service), it was far more often than occasional with this company. Most fundamentally, (1) communications were disrespectful and rude, as though our expectation that the company would courteously and correctly provide the service we were paying them for was an imposition and (2) the services that were provided were unsatisfactory. Stay clear of this company.

I would rate them an "F" overall. Just before Christmas the cleaning woman never showed up, didn't call. So we did the cleaning. It became very clear that this woman was not doing her job with all the dust and cobwebs that were found.

They do a good job with very little hassle. We appreciate that all products used are environmentally friendly. This company is pet-friendly. Melissa, the owner is responsive and has accommodated special requests, such as a change in the day of the cleaning, cheerfully and easily.

We contacted Melissa for an estimate in December of 2007 and she came out to personally assess our home for cleaning services. After approving the estimate by email, we had difficulty finding a time of week that would match when we could be home while the staff worked, which we thought was more because of our limited schedules. Email and phone call responses were slow but with multiple messages we usually heard back, until the last time and we gave up. A couple weeks ago, before beginning maternity leave, we sent an email to say that our schedule was wide open and we would like to initiative service. We still haven't heard back. It does feel like an odd way to run a business - we really liked the motto of this company but the lack of communication and lack of interest in our business was off-putting!

I contacted Melissa towards the end of my pregnancy, in the hopes of setting up services for after my child was born. I had to call several times, and it ended up taking several weeks before the actual estimate was performed (by then I had already had my baby and life was, as predicted, hectic). She did give me an email estimate, but not when she had said she would have it prepared. At that point I was cleaning myself, so I tried to continue to upkeep our house (which is, in my opinion, average dirty - I asked that two really cluttered rooms not be included in the quote), but upon finding this too difficult and with things settling down with my newborn, I contacted her again about starting up services. I haven't heard from her, and this was two weeks ago. It's a shame as I really want to protect the environment and my family's health by cleaning "green", but I don't feel I should have to chase her down to pay her good money! If she didn't want the job, I wish she would've just said so.

The cleaners were prompt and courteous. They had to work around us because we were home and were quiet enough that the baby was able to take a nap while they were cleaning. Picking up toys and doing the laundry were not part of the contracted service, but they volunteered it anyway. The supervisor came out the day of the cleaning to check on the progress of the job and make sure that we were satisfied. They are willing to use products supplied by the homeowner, but they usually bring the cleaners. They did an absolutely fantastic job and I will definitely be using their service regularly.
