Very friendly over the phone. I drove to his shop with three mortise locks from my old home. Had several keys on-hand and after a few minutes of fitting, I had 4x keys for my old mortise locks. Friendly and professional service. I did call before going, this is a one-man business so if the owner is on a service call then the shop is locked.

Jim was a very nice guy. Local business. Punctual and professional. Called 20 min before the appointment to confirm he is on his way. I just moved into a new condo and needed the locks to be changed. Finished in 10 min. I was surprised he gave me 3 keys for the lock. I actually needed one more. He made it on the spot in his truck and threw it in for free. Good deal considering the other quotes i got from other locksmiths and didnt include extra keys. I would use him again in the future if i had a lock problem.

I needed a skeleton key to open a piece of antique furniture that I had recently purchased. Seeing positive yelp reviews, I called Baystate. He confirmed he had some keys I could try but to call right before I came in (to make sure he wasn't out on a service call at the time). Jim was so easy to work with- had me stop by to pick up a couple keys to test, which I was then able to run home & try out before coming back with the ones that didn't work. Easy peasy. He's now in my phone in case I ever need a locksmith for any other reason.
