Description of Work: I have a very small moving job, essentially moving a first-floor bedroom in my house to the second floor and then moving a bed, dresser, and desk from my basement to the first floor. Because we are living in the house, we need the moving done within a week. When selecting the Big Deal from Angie's List, I was asked to select up to three possible dates, which I did (requesting 9/23, 9/24, and 9/28). I received an estimate from the vendor, informing me that its services were only available in 3-hour minimum blocks, that it would charge me for time spent driving from Charlestown to Hingham and back and, most importantly, that the earliest it could move my stuff was 10/3. When I wrote back asking for an earlier date and expressing that my move was very small and wouldn't entail significant time from its movers, Stairhopper wrote back (somewhat curtly) and informed that 10/3 was the only option. Because this is too late for our move (we have a newborn and are desperately trying to get settled), I found a different, local company that can meet our timing. Because this is my home, I will not need moving services within the 6-month lifetime of the Big Deal I purchased, and I would like a refund.

Description of Work: I was moving in with my boyfriend so there were two stops involved. They said they would arrive between 2-4 and they arrived at 3:45. Everything in the Charlestown apartment was already packed in boxes and next to the front door and very minimal furniture (bedroom set and a treadmill) aside from the boxes were being moved. The treadmill took 3 men 45 minutes to figure out how to get it out of my apartment. After finally taking it apart and moving it outside, I made the mistake of leaving them to meet them in Southie. They took an hour to get from Charlestown to Southie when it should have been a 15 minute drive and didn't answer my phone call when I called them to ask them about their whereabouts. Upon their arrival in Southie, I left my boyfriend's apartment since he was there, however, he ended up leaving 2 car loads full (he didn't have to be out of his apartment that day however that was the original intent) because they took way too long to move what he did have them move and knew that we were getting charged by the hour. Then when they finally arrived to our final destination in Dorchester, they were lazy and slow and it took them another 45 minutes to reassemble my treadmill after which they left wires hanging out and lost the safety key so the treadmill was no longer useful until I was able to replace the safety key. The only good thing Stairhoppers did was give me a $20 credit for my safety key. The quote they had given me was half the price of what we paid (not including the tip that they didn't deserve to get). Will not use them again.

Description of Work: The mover was excellent in all ways. The reason I would not use them again is that their base of operations is about 35 miles away. Thus 50% of my purchased time was absorbed by travel time. This was one of Angie's List "deals"---Three hours of moving for $XXX. Angie's List did not disclose to me how far away the mover was, and I was not very happy about that.

Description of Work: They moved contents of small apartment in North End to western suburbs. They arrived early and worked efficiently. They lowered over sized box spring from fourth floor window. The only confusion arose because I did not understand that I was supposed to get parking permit from city. Ultimately it was a non-issue. I'd use Stairhoppers again.

Description of Work: They picked up a couch and 2 livingroom chairs in Cambridge, wrapped them well and delivered them into my Danvers home where I wanted them placed. |They also removed the old couch to the outside for me. It was a positive experience.

Description of Work: Moved appliances and furnishings to two destinations

Description of Work: They were efficient, friendly, punctual, and extremely careful with our belongings. Stairhoppers got everything safely from point A to point B and took extra care to wrap furniture nicely and even put blankets down in our new place to protect the hardwood floors from all the traffic in/out. I would definitely recommend them and would absolutely go to them again! Also, they were extremely helpful and accommodating during the booking process. Kudos to both their administrative folks and the movers themselves for a great experience!

Description of Work: The moving crew worked diligently to get all my furniture out of the apartment and into my two story home. They really hustled to get the work done. Sometimes, they worked too fast, especially when installing the washer and dryer. They weren't as careful as I expected them to be with the connections. Overall, the job was done satisfactorily.

Description of Work: These guys worked their buts off!! They were on time, called before hand to confirm, called while in their way. They were fast, clean, and very careful. I used them to pack a pod, and when I unpacked nothing had shifted, and not a single item was damaged. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
