Stairhopper Movers

Description of Work: Hired to move me from the North End in Boston to Salem MA. I purchased Angie's deal ($330 for 3 movers for 3 hours). I also paid to have the company obtain a parking permit for my neighborhood (required in the North End). Day prior to move, I received a call to confirm and on the day of move, received a call from movers saying they were ahead of schedule and askied if they could come earlier (great!). From the moment they arrived, they got to work immediately assessing my items, then wrapping everything very carefully - all three movers were incredibly fast! Practically running back and forth from the truck. They placed mattresses in heavy plastic bags (small fee) and everything else completely wrapped in moving blankets/pads. The movers were super polite and very considerate of me, my items and my neighbors! After everything was brought to new location, they offered to stay and move things around to make sure I liked where eveything was placed. I would definitely use them again if needed.

Description of Work: I called the company and they estimated the total cost for $850.00+ to move one bedroom apartment I ready have quotes from other companies fir $450.00 full price without any coupon. It seems that company either does not know how to price the job or scams customers.

Description of Work: Very professional team of movers. They are very careful while handling the furniture, very courteous and very efficient. I moved a two bedrooms apartment. They assemble furniture as well.

Description of Work: They moved me into a new apartment locally, on Christmas Eve. I have a lot of fragile antiques and personal possessions; it was a very arduous move, and it involved stairs on both ends. True to their name they did a superhuman job of hopping the stairs and wrapping the move up; it took two days. One table had its legs broken and they paid for it to be fixed by a highly reputable furniture restorer.

Description of Work: Three men, showed up on time, were polite and worked really hard the whole time. I moved from a third floor apartment with no elevator. They were very careful with all my furniture. Nothing got scratched or broken. They assembled everything at my new home and made sure I was happy with the furniture placement. Gave them a nice tip because they deserved it.

Description of Work: They showed up exactly on time and moved my furniture and some personal belongings from a 2 BR in South Boston to a 2 BR Condo in Wakefield. I took advantage of the Angie's List Deal of 3 hrs. at $295. The whole job was about 6.5 hours from when they left their headquarters in Charlestown to their return. They explained everything to me and pointed out things for me to be aware of. I packed up my car as well and met them at my new place. They didn't stop once for even a small break. I had never heard of Stairhopper Movers before until I saw them on Angie's List, but they are by far the best moving company I've ever used. And the price was about half of what I had been quoted by other well-known companies in the area.

Description of Work: Moved things from a storage unit to our apt. in the same town. They were prompt, fast, polite, and friendly. They finished the work within the 3-hour window of the deal I'd purchased, and there were no hidden fees. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they made the move.

Description of Work: We hired them using a Angie's list deal for a truck load to move the heavy furniture so we could get the house ready for staging. The guys were the hardest working moving folks I have ever seen. Really fast, very careful and nice to be around. Would hire them in a minute again. Very reliable.

Description of Work: Large move in Lexington. Moving from a house on 4 levels to another house on 4 levels. Think the job was way bigger than they anticipated but they were fantastic. They struggled to access the property due to low trees but managed to find a way through. Can't rate them highly enough and were approx. half the price of other companies. |

Description of Work: Money was a bit tight when I moved from Brookline, MA to Canton, MA on 12-6-13, so I was happy I found Stairhopper's special offer on Angie's List, $297 for 3 hours, 3 men, and a truck (plus the $50 deposit the company required). | |In order to maximize what I'd get out of this deal, my boyfriend and I rented a U-Haul and moved the majority of our 2 bedroom apartment the night before. All the movers had to do was take the furniture (2 beds, dining room set, no couch because we threw it out...) and anything I was scared might break (tv, etc.)... | |Bill started at 7:15am when they left Charlestown. They showed up at my apartment around 8:20am. They were done packing their truck by 9:15am. Before leaving, they hung around smoking cigarettes in the parking lot. I stayed in Brookline to pack the last few boxes in my own car and my boyfriend went with them. | |It couldnt have taken long for them to move the stuff into the Canton apartment (they left every single thing right inside the doorway, in the hallway and living room.) At 10:50am, I was charged an additional $135 (they estimated they'd be back in Charlestown at 11:45am). | |My boyfriend was back in Brookline at 11:10am... and he was driving the U-Haul, so he couldn't drive any faster than the movers... | |Should've saved my money and moved the heavy stuff myself. My boyfriend and I moved 85% of our stuff, these guys showed up 20 minutes late, they moved slow, and took a smoke break outside my window... really?? | |One last thing- I am very familiar with downtown Boston's AM rush hour traffic (sat in it daily) and 65 minutes to get to Brookline from Charlestown is a little crazy. | |I would've been much happier if they just charged me for the actual travel time (after the fact). Even if it's in increments of 15 minutes - fine - I just feel like they overestimated so they could fit in a couple other breaks...

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for moving services. Everything went great. They were really fantastic. They were extremely prompt. They showed up a few minutes early. They were very efficient and got the work done quickly. They were professional and nice. We found something small was lost, and they credited us for the item without any hassle. I would use them again.
