Description of Work: We very recently did a major home remodel and had not connected the service during this period. The reason was we had contractors coming in and out all the time. On Black Friday, 3 days after the contractors had completed their work, I had gone out for about two hours. Our home was broken into and thank goodness it looked as though it were a war zone with everything piled into the bedrooms. The thief did not get much, only a jar with about $150 in change. The first thing the police said we needed to do was get a home security system. I explained that we had one but it was not activated. It has since been activated and we feel so much better. In our area we are not required to have a permit by the police and fire department. Some areas may require it. We like the simplicity of a wireless system. It is still functional if the power is off. I could have rated the punctuality and responsiveness of the product had it been operational at the time of our robbery. It is not a pleasant thing to come home and find.

Description of Work: The system seems to work as advertised. It's quite flexible. The one glitch is that we purchased addition motion detectors, only to find that they tended to see our small cats, despite the company's assertion that animals under 15 lbs are ignored. But, they took the motion sensors back and we will replace them with glass break detectors, as soon as those are available (hopefully, early 2014).||We have not gotten around to signing up for monitoring, yet.

Hello [member name removed], Thanks for posting your review! Though motion sensors do not typical see smaller pets, as they are infrared sensors, it can depend on how and where they're mounted. We recommend that if you do have pets, mounting the motion sensors about four or five off the ground, and upside down. This way, they will see out and up at at 45 degree angle, rather than down. They will miss your pets as they run around, but hit any person as they walk by! We're always happy help you troubleshoot matters like this! Make sure to give us a call if you ever need any help!
