Description of Work: They are an alarm company. We had ADT in the past but they kept raising their rates so we quit them. The new company's equipment was easy for us to install ourselves and was much cheaper than ADT's. The monthly cost is also much less and they have never raised their rates.

Description of Work: i contacted SimpliSafe and they tried to tell me that they don't offer any onsite support. i have to set up the system and be responsible for testing it. i am not comfortable setting up a new system to replace my current one. i was really looking forward to doing business with them due to all the great reviews. but, i would prefer a more hands on, personalize service. afterall, for the same price and similar set up, i can get a system through Lowes for much less .

Description of Work: I ordered a simplisafe alarm system through Angie's list and multiple additional monitors through the company's website. The free shipping took approximately 3 days. | |Most of the reviews I have read boasted of setup taking approximately 15 minutes. In my case it took about two hours, but the 11 entry sensors that I used may have been more than the typical install. The system uses a "base station" that receives i put from all of the sensors including the keypad and communicates via cellular with the alarm company. Everything is battery powered, except for the base station which is plugged in with a battery backup. Once all of the sensors were programmed into the base station (you only have to do this with sensors that are ordered separately) the system was up and working. The instructions were easy to follow and it does not take a lot of technical know how. | |For the price of $15 per month for monitoring and the added security of a cellular connection with the monitoring company, it is a very competitive system. There are no contracts and no sales people. Their customer service has been very helpful the two times that I called them, but they are only open during business hours. | |As a caution, please test your keypads and sensors before attaching them to the wall, door, etc. I attached my second keypad by the back door only to find out that it was not communicating with the base station a couple of days later. The monitors are all attached by adhesive strips. They work very well, but they will damage your paint when you remove them. I had to move a couple of sensors. They took the paint right off of the wall even though i followed the "safe removal" instructions exactly. | |In summary, good value, good monitor, good company, and adhesive that is a little too good.

Description of Work: Self installed wireless security alarm system (approx. $550.00 for system equipment for my installation) with no contract month to month monitoring service. Installation went as expected and was very straight forward. I am pretty technical and mechanically inclined but I think my wife could have completed the installation. The interactive monitoring has been great so far. This is my 1st experience with an alarm system and so far I am very pleased I should have done this years ago.

Description of Work: Simplisafe is a very reliable home security system. Angie's list deal price cannot be bet. The highlight is that it there is no contract and you can turn the monitoring on and off at any time.

Description of Work: I bought a new security system package from SimpliSafe for $200, as part of the Angie's List "Big Deal." I love this system -- so much better than the old system I had in my old house, and the monthly monitoring is much cheaper too ($25/month with full smartphone control and alerts, vs. ~$40/month for old system w/o any smartphone controls or alerts). I had to install it myself, but they made it really easy, and I got to avoid the high-pressure sales tactics from traditional alarm companies. I love the customization you can do with this, and how much control you have with their website and smartphone app. We can remotely check whether the system is on or off, and change settings remotely. I think I'll be ordering one of their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors soon too.

Description of Work: they mailed everything to me and I did the install. it's very easy to install! the system gives you 3 days to "practice" before it goes live. what I like is that it has no contract, much cheaper per month and they are as good as our old adt system. I would recommend to anyone.

Description of Work: Simplisafe provided a security system that I installed. The system was delivered promptly. Instructions for set up were thorough. The company kept in touch via email to provide answers to any questions concerning installation and monitoring. We will be able to take this system to our new home, add components if we choose and did not have to sign any contracts.

Description of Work: We have had a few problems with the system (that is why I give it a B instead of an A), but the folks at SimpliSafe are very helpful. They have responded in a timely manner each time I have called on them for help. |We may need an additional piece in the future, and they have said that would ship it free whenever we decide we want it. |It is not in the installation instructions, but if a keypad is installed too closely to a lightswitch...you may have problems with the system. =) All in all, we would buy it again--it is a very good value compared to other systems we looked at.

Description of Work: We were already familiar with this product and planning on purchasing it, but when we saw it offered as an Angies List Deal for a bit cheaper than its regular price, we went on and bought it. It arrived in about a week and my husband spent a couple hours setting all the components up. He didn't have too much difficulty, except one entry sensor did cause him some frustration as he had to reposition it three times for it to line up correctly. After that, it was in test mode for about three days. We have not had any issues, but it has only been "live" for a couple days. I like that you can download the app to control it and it seems very user-friendly.

Description of Work: We ordered a starter kit and did the self-install at home. The system has been very easy to set up and use. It's even been easy to adjust and change as we determined what we needed for day-to-day use. I can see us expanding the system in the future because it's so simple to add on. Highly recommended!
