+ -1 moreRemoved the old (30+ year) chimney-vented furnace and sealed up the exhaust pipe into the chimney. Installed a highly efficient state of the art "Triangle Tube" wall-mounted, externally-vented boiler and all new hot water piping to 5 antique radiators and 1 baseboard radiator, improving the overall heating of the apartment. Tested the system and got it inspected/approved by City of Somerville.
Description of Work: Ancient creaky boiler finally gave up the ghost this winter, and my tenants have a newborn! Brrrr! We had lots of options for new boilers from various suppliers. Elijah Crist and Jamie St. Don from Pro Solutions Bath & Boiler looked at the the plumbing for our whole house---not just the one component part --- and gave us advice about how best to update our heating system so it works better overall. They also gave us lots of information about the various options for fixing other problems in our 120+ year old house. Cannot recommend them enough.

+ 0 moreI'm always having them over. They do my plumbing and fixed my heater when it broke. They're very personable. They're awesome. I got them from Angie's List. I was one of his first three customers and he respects that. They're very good at their work. They are quick and clean. Their work is pretty good. The prices are fair. He's come out at the drop of a hat for me, and that's pretty good. One Christmas Eve, I couldn't get my heater going, and he came out to my house at 9:00 at night.
Description of Work: They cleared out two drains and fixed the sink.

+ 0 moreElijah is prompt, thorough, cares about his work, cares about his customers, cares about his craftsmanship, and leaves a clean basement when he is done. He tells you what all your options are and makes good recommendations. When I met Jamie recently, he is also prompt, thorough, and caring. Cheap? Nope. You want to find out what's REALLY expensive? Hiring a cheap plumber, and then having to hire a good one later to undo everything and do it right. It is soooo much better to get a great plumber from the get-go and have it done once, done correctly and with good sense. Elijah and Jamie from Pro Solutions are the real deal. I recommend them to all my friends.
Description of Work: First of all, I have to say: Elijah Crist of Pro Solutions Bath & Boiler saved my house. Short version of story: I hired a terrible plumber (not from Angie's List, but recommended by a friend: learned my lesson! one good experience doth not a good contractor make!) who screwed me over royally. Without boring you with all the gory details, that sorry excuse for a plumber did a terrible installation of 2 brand new gas furnaces, doing wacky things such as leaving giant open holes in my chimney to better asphyxiate us all from exhaust fumes, and "draining" the condensate into a 110 year old cast-iron pipe by knocking a hole into it and leaving it open with no thought about sewer gas emissions. To be clear: THESE THINGS WERE NOT DONE BY PRO SOLUTIONS. They were done by the Plumber from H*** (Rick D'Alessandro, if you want to know---a person you should never let touch anything in your house for any reason). PRO SOLUTIONS CAME TO MOP UP THIS HOT MESS AND DID A GREAT JOB. The gas inspector from the City of Somerville, and a bunch of other plumbers, all pronounced my new furnaces horribly installed, nowhere near up to code, violations galore...and the plumbers all quoted astronomical prices to put the furnaces right and up to code. Enter Elijah Crist. He too was suitably horrified by the Plumber From H***'s horrible work, but unlike the others he did not tell me that it would take weeks and weeks and my entire bank account to fix it. He gave a reasonable quote, and he got it done in 2.5 joyous days (joyous for me, not for him: nobody who loves their craft like Elijah does, enjoys cleaning up some other goober's disgusting mess). He scheduled the return of the Somerville Inspector who signed off on everything and, he got our 2 furnaces working correctly right before the winter cold snap got going in earnest. That was Dec. 31, 2013. It's been over a year and both furnaces purr along like kittens. We are warm and snug, and have happy tenants in our first-floor apartment. Since then I call Elijah and his helper Jamie for EVERYTHING. You should, too. They are just terrific.

+ -1 moreBased on Pro Solution's rating and close proximity, I figured this to be ideal hire from my project. Elijah was attentive and worked within our schedules to find a time to review my project. During the review, he seemed genuinely interested in the job and even provided options to resolve a plumbing issue. He even went as far as to block time out of his schedule to begin project once we agreed on cost. However, that was the last I heard from him. Following an email...no response, two phone calls...no response, I waited to hear from him on the date to begin project...not a word, call, or email. I wish I could comment on the quality of service, price, and professionalism, but, similar to other posts, he makes little to no effort in responding to jobs that he has no interest in.
Description of Work: Elijah was punctual for review of project. After that, never heard from again.

+ -1 moreLooking for a plumber to do a complete plumbing job on my whole house remodel, I contacted ProSolutions. He promptly stopped by for an estimate. I will give him points for being prompt on getting by for that. He talked a lot about doing quality work and not being the cheapest guy out there. OK, I'm good with that. I like quality and I'm willing to pay a bit more to get it. He gave me an hourly rate, but told me he couldn't do an estimate until we had settled on all our fixtures, since each one takes a different amount of time to install. That sounded good. I actually liked the idea of not just flat rating each fixture, but thinking about each one individually. This made me think he really was concerned about quality and detail, and that I had found the professional I wanted to hire. My wife and I then set about making some choices. About a week later, I sent him an email asking for some recommendations on brands, etc. for some fixtures. I never got a response from him. Once we had a list (another two weeks) of our fixture choices, I emailed him a list of our fixtures along with my drawings for the floor plans. Once again I never got a response from him. Thinking he might not have received my email for some reason, I called. No answer. I called again. Again no answer. I left a message. Again no response. I think I was wrong in my initial response. This is NOT the and quot;professionaland quot; I want to hire. For all I know, he may do fantastic work, but he sure doesn't do communication well...

+ 1 moreAs I said above, they do awesome work! Very neat and always clean up when they finish. Their prices can not be beat, and trust me , I shopped around due to the amount of work to be done this time. No one came close to their estimate. One company wanted $3700.00!!! Everyone that I have come in contact with at Pro Solutions Bath and Boiler has been honest, dedicated to their finished work, hard working and friendly.
Description of Work: I called Pro Solutions Bath & Boiler on Friday and explained I had quite a few issues with my plumbing, my commode,my drain pipe for the kitchen sinks, my boiler & the pilot light on my tenant's gas stove. We set an appointment up for Monday morning. On Monday morning Elijah arrived with his helper Jamie, both ready to work. Monday they went through everything & made a list of supplies they would need. They fixed the gas stove & my commode, but I had an appointment I could not miss. They were very understanding and offered to return the next morning which was Tuesday. Tuesday they repaired the drain pipe in my cellar, they installed new faucetts for my tenant's bathroom sink and new kitchen faucetts in my apartment. Then the task of taking out old bath plumbing in my tenants bathroom. That took the most time. They had to switch the shower faucetts from two the just one main dial, and run pipes for the new shower. Wednesday they came to do my bathroom shower, same as my tenants shower. I have used Pro Solutions Bath & Boiler once before and they did awesome work at a reasonable price. They were professional, cleaned all their mess, and knew what they were doing at all times. I can not speak highly enough of Elijah, Jamie & Pro Solutions! I will keep them on as my plumbing company for years to come! They really know the meaning of customer service! I reccomend this company and have spread their name by word of mouth after the first time they came and repaired my boiler, but now I will reccomend them even more knowing all the work they did for me this time! + 1 moreWe had a number of estimates for our conversion job, we wanted to get a thorough understanding of our options, and the best advice available as regards how to handle the situation. Every plumber we saw was plenty professional and polite (thanks Angies List!) but Elijah from Pro Solutions stood out, in a big way. Elijah had a genuine sense of enthusiasm for the work, that we didn't get from the other guys, and that enthusiasm turned into exactly the detailed, thorough, and comprehensive review, with clear unbiased explanations of pros and cons, that we were looking for. We ultimately made our decision, and booked our time. Elijah gave great information about the rebates and discounts available to us, and patiently guided us through the whole process online. The evening before the installation, we received a confirmation/reminder email, and Elijah and Jamie arrived right on time the next morning. Our house, (a 1900 colonial with a mixed history of repairs) was not, not even remotely kind to them. Yet, they remained phenomenally cool and professional throughout the entire project. A few days later, the job was done, the basement was clean, and a shiny new gas furnace resides in it's new home. Not only was their estimate one of the most competitive we received, but the standard of their workmanship is absolutely impeccable. They did a great job of making everything extremely easy for us. These guys are absolutely outstanding at not only their plumbing, but also their customer service. We'll absolutely be hiring them again. No doubt about it.

+ -1 moreI called a larger plumbing company for an issue with my shower that was causing the water to continue to flow even when in the off position. They were not going to be able to come out for a few days but recommended that I try Elijah at Pro Solutions. I am very glad that they did. Elijah came by the Sunday night it happened, corrected what he could without parts and returned the next day with the parts when the stores opened on Monday and was able to complete the project. He had parts for several types of showers in his truck but mine was not a standard type which is why he had to wait for the parts. While he was fixing that issue, I also asked if he could fix the hot/cold water for the shower. Whoever had installed the unit installed it with the water reversed. He quickly corrected that issue as well! He was knowledgeable, professional and courteous, I now have my go to person for all plumbing items!
Description of Work: Repair shower handle and unit, handle fell off and water would not shut off even when in the off position. Also, the hot and cold were reversed on the shower and he quickly corrected it.

+ -1 moreOn 12/24/2010 Elijah came out but it was so late and with the holiday, he would not be able to get the piece he needed. He got my burner lit and we had heat all that night but it stopped Christmas morning. I didn't want to disturb him being Christmas and all, so I waiting until Sunday morning. This man was with his family and in-laws in New Hampshire, but still took me as a priority! He called one of the retailers who opened the store for him so he could purchase the part. (Gas valve) He came within minutes of getting the piece and repaired it in no time. This company has given me the best service I have ever received since becoming a home owner. I'm glad I finally found a company I will be using in the future. They really care about their customers. I will definitely be passing their name by word of mouth, starting here.
