Merry Maids of Boston

I wasn't that pleased with them. I bought the house. They came and did a lot of work for me. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the quality of the work that they did. The price was okay. They were punctual. The quality of work should have been better. They did get back to me. They returned my calls.

We used them every three weeks. They seem very attentive but they don’t go beyond anything. They did the work in less time and still charge me the full price.

I have used them twice. They do charge a lot of money, about $380 and they were only here for about 2 hours.

Merry Maids was fabulous. I called them needing an apartment cleaned the same day for some showings. They not only came same day, they also suggested ways to make the place look better for a prospective buyer. They went above and beyond the cleaning by replacing a grungy toilet seat, doing 2 loads of laundry, and even putting in new lightbulbs. I would highly recommend giving these guys a call - could not have been faster, nicer, or provided a higher level of service. You could tell they really wanted to make me happy and help me succee in getting the best price for the place.

I had used Merry Maids' service before in Attleboro, MA. They normally have a manager visit your home to schedule your first cleaning and tell you about the service. For me, we did this over the phone. One thing I like is their rigorous procedures for controlling access to your key: the keep your key locked up and cleaners have to sign it out the day of the cleaning. This gave my wife some peace of mind about giving the company a key to our house. The cleaners bring all their own supplies and equipment. I had them come bi-weekly. They were pretty thorough. They always did an especially good job with the shower and bathroom tile. They sent the same team of 2 almost every week. The only problems we ever had were minor, like once when the cleaners accidentally let the cats into the bedroom where they aren't supposed to be. A phone call straightened that out and it didn't happen again. Merry Maids is a little pricey but the manager told me their employees get health benefits and a living wage. I would rather pay a little more to support a socially responsible business.

They arrived just a few minutes late but got to work right away, were very effecient and had the whole apartment cleaned in under 2 hours. Very professional!

I had trouble locating a vendor on Angie's list, many companies flat out state they don't do one-time/move in/move out. So I chose Merry Maid's over Maid Pro, based on the the impression the web site gave me. Merry Maids does everything by phone, they had a thorough list of questions they ask, and I felt comfortable with the professional who provided me an over the phone estimate. My pre move in was the simpler of the two, the place was already very clean, and I just wanted the oven done, the fridge, etc. A crew of 2 took about 2 hours. Although their english was broken it wasn't a problem communicating. They were able to remove a big red stain on the bathtub and they even got the cabinet under the sink 'squeaky clean'. I requested the same crew for my move out. I had lived in the same place for 11 years, and it needed a real thorough once over...the cabinets were atrocious, the kitchen floor a wreck, and the bathtub really needed scrubbing. I was very pleased with the work they got done in 4 hours. I had no compunction handing over my keys to my landlord, knowing the place was in tip top shape. My only complaint was punctuality. I had asked for the service to call me when the crew was en route, so I could meet them, and once I didn't receive a call. Oh well. I was still able to meet them within an hour of when they said they would start. Frankly, of all my move expenses, the money I spent on having someone else clean the place I was moving out of was the best money I spent.

I thought that the price was very expensive! I have used Merry Maids in San Francisco for years, and had similar work done on a similar sized flat for half the price. They did not clean the oven nor the refrigerator, and left some woodwork unclean. Worse, they used some cleaner on my butcher block kitchen counter that left stains! I would have overlooked everything not being perfect (and my house was truly filthy!) if they hadn't charged so much money. For top dollar, I really expect top service. The only good news is, they came on short notice. I did appreciate that. I would not recommend this company.

MERRY MAIDS HAS CLEANED FOR US FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THEY ARE GENERALLY VERY EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE. THE SAME STAFF IS ASSIGNED ON A REGULAR BASIS, WHICH PROVIDES CONSISTENCY AND COMFORT. THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS ARE ALWAYS SPARKLING CLEAN, AND THE WOOD FLOORS ARE PERFECT. THE CLEANSERS THEY USE DO NOT HARM THE FLOORS, A CONCERN IN OLDER HOUSES. THE AREAS OF MILD DISAPPOINTMENT ARE LARGELY IN DUSTING. THERE ARE SOME COBWEBS THAT DON'T SEEM TO BE CAUGHT, AND THEY RARELY DUST WINDOW TREATMENTS OR SHUTTERS. WINDOW CLEANING IS A SEPARATE SERVICE, WHICH IS BOTH EXPENSIVE AND NOT VERY WELL DONE.

I WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK DONE BY MERRY MAIDS. THEY SENT A COUPLE OF PEOPLE TO MY HOME TO CLEAN THE ENTIRE DOWNSTAIRS AREA - KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, LIVING ROOM AND BATHROOM.

MAIDS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY WORKED EXTREMELY HARD. THE HOUSE LOOKED GREAT WHEN THEY FINISHED.

THE CLEANING WAS SUBSTANDARD. THERE WAS STILL DIRT ON THE KITCHEN CABINETS, AND CEILING PIPES WERE NOT DUSTED, THOUGH I LEFT A STEP LADDER. THE CLEANERS DID NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH AND WERE PRETTY UPSET THAT THE JOB SEEMED BIGGER THAN WHAT THEY EXPECTED, THEY WERE UPSET TOO THAT THEY HAD TO PAY FOR PARKING IN THIS DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD. THE CLEANING WAS SUPERFICIAL, I WAS IN THERE THIS MORNING SCRUBBING AGAIN. IT WAS NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE, I FELT BAD FOR THE CLEANERS AND I FELT MY MONEY WAS WASTED.
