 + 2 moreFantastic. Henry helped us prioritize what work to tackle and by when. He was prompt, detail oriented, and put safety first. The quality of his work was flawless.
Description of Work: Henry and his crew did a number of long overdue items for us--and we'll use him again in the future. In less than a week, Henry did the following: --Replaced several missing slate pieces on our roof. --Fixed flashing at our chimney. --Re-worked and replaced some of our downspouts to facilitate better draining. --Lined/sealed our existing (original) wooden gutters. --Replaced an exterior light for the driveway. --Tore our poorly constructed front stairs (cement, cinder blocks), and rebuilt them in wood. --Repaired several feet of boards on the front porch. --Tore out and replaced (up to code) all railings on the front porch, and carried the same matching railings down the (new) front steps. With a family (including a toddler) who spends a lot of time on our front porch, we wanted to make sure the front of our house was as safe as possible. Henry went to far as to make sure the space between railings, as well as the railing and the stairs, was as secure as possible. He installed every single rail rather than buying them pre-bought so as to minimize the amount of open or exposed area that would allow for a toddler to fall through/under/above. Henry came to give an estimate the day after I contacted him and got me an estimate in a matter of days. He caught construction items (cut corners) that other people didn't on first inspection.

 + 0 moreThe overall quality of the work was mediocre. Kitchen cabinets were installed OK, but one of the door casings ended up worse than it was before. They've left a 1-inch gap between the door trim and a wall, and were satisfied! They also used too many too big nails for finish carpentry: our casing looks like having a lot of freckles. They were performing all cuts in the living room/kitchen, and left an enormous amount of dust, stuck in every little crevice and on every surface: dishes, glass, walls etc. It took two full days for two people just to clean the dust. In addition, there are multiple marks and dings on the walls left by them.
Description of Work: Small carpentry fix-ups: two door casings, replacement of a closet door, attaching two kitchen cabinets, putting in a window, installing four cabinet doors.

 + 3 moreWE BOUGHT NEW HOUSE AND FOUND SOME THINGS NEEDED WORK, I KNEW OWNER OF SCHNEIDER CONSTRACTION WHEN I LIVED IN BOSTON SO I CONTACTED HIM, TO MY SURPRISE THE PRICE WAS LOWER THAN OTHER ESTIMATES AND THEY WERE ABLE PINPOINT QUICKLY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH GUTTERS LEAKING AND DESTROYING MY FRONT PORCH, THEY ALSO REPAIRED ROOF AND PROVIDED VENTILATION. I TRUST THEM WILL ALL WORK FOR MY RESIDENCE AND MY RENTAL PROPERTY.
Description of Work: REPAIRED SHINGLE ROOF AND GUTTERS, BUILT NEW DECK.
