I contacted them for an estimate for a new roof. They came out to the house and spent a considerable time doing a bunch of measurements and said they'd get back to me. I never heard back so I tried following up several times. After repeated calls over a period of several months, they kept saying they hadn't done the estimate yet - but without any apology. Four months later, still no estimate. In my opinion, it's not a good business.

Knew they were experts on slate but hadn't realized they did rubber roofs too. Initial estimate didn't call when running a bit late, but all interactions thereafter were terrific. Had expected them to be too expensive due to their high rep, but among several estimates theirs was not the highest by far and was clear and thorough. They checked twice and explained clearly why thicker insulation wouldn't fit, told me exactly what masonry had to be done before roofing, got permit timely and without complaint, showed up when expected, on request used gray instead of black rubber to reduce heat buildup, were all friendly, courteous and diligent, site was well-cleaned. While here they even checked the other roof for problems. Work came out well, (one tiny place under one window needs caulk) but a very good experience, done quickly. Will call them again.
Description of Work: Replaced a flat rubber roof & skylight on the back extension of a rowhouse: Replace rear shed roof, apply 1'' ISO insulation to entire roof, Carlisle 060 EPDM rubber roof fully adhered system, Install new flashing on all outside edges, turn rubber up wall 8'' terminate with 1'' aluminum term bar, supply and install 42'' frost double dome skylight, lap rubber onto neighbor's existing roof 6'', clean and dispose all related waste.

EXCELLENT WORK. DIFFICULT SCHEDULING. FAIR (THEY'RE ALL HIGH!) PRICES. RECOMMENDED. BEWARE: EXCELLENT WORK, BUT PITIFUL WARRANTY. THEY DID TONS OF ROOFING WORK FOR ME, PRIMARILY NEW SLATE AND COPPER WORK, THEN REFUSED TO GIVE ME MORE THAN A 12-MONTH WARRANTY. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED AT LEAST 5 YEARS, IF NOT 20.
Description of Work: NEW COPPER ROOF SECTION, NEW SLATE WORK, SLATE REPAIRS ON EXISTING SLATE, A DIFFICULT CIRCULAR ("RADIUS") GUTTER, AND COPPER DOWNSPOUTS ON OUR 115-YEAR OLD CARRIAGE HOUSE. FAMILY BUSINESS, SPEAK TO ALEX.
