Not well. Technician arrived a bit after he was scheduled, but I understand- they can't control how long each visit takes- no big deal. He was very friendly from the beginning, and I thought it would be a good visit. However, he proceeded to spend about 3 hours talking to us about our problems, with no direction to the conversation. He had lots of stories to tell (while he was billing me) and lots of negative things to say about our current setup (which I think is pretty good considering I'm a lawyer and I've managed on my own for 7 years). He also spent a decent amount of time telling me and my two employees why everything with our setup was wrong, including some work that my brother (a IT technician at a higher level) did for me. Friendly, but condescending and fairly conceited. He really didn't listen to what we said we needed, but talked a lot about what he thought we needed (without knowing almost anything about our business). To address the main problem we were having, he suggested a very expensive investment in equipment. At the end, he billed me for three hours of work (much of which was him talking about things that were not useful in helping us improve our situation). The coupon I bought was supposed to be for $50 off, but the bill made it clear that they had increased the price so they could give a $50 discount (only on the first hour). I found a reference from a colleague in my suite who charged me just over twice as much as Geek Choice and has our computers working SO much better and has actually listened to what we've told him we need. He quickly found the root of our problem (internet speed) and suggested how we might go about fixing it (nowhere near the price the Geek Choice technician gave us). The contrast between Geek Choice and our current technician is like night and day. Not pleased at all by my experience with Geek Choice.

I asked for the first appointment of the day and made it clear when scheduling that I work and did not want to be kept waiting. The consultant arrived 15 minutes late. He was knowledgeable and worked quickly. He had his own view of certain software I used on my computer and added alternate programs that in his view performed better. He answered the questions I had. All in all, I felt I got the value of my purchase.

He did what was indicated and he said if the problem came up again they would have to do something else.. He seemed to be knowledgeable. They told me that when the problem occurred that it out of the time frame that they could do it for free. He was helpful. The price was reasonable.

The service turned out okay. They came out on time and the technician was very efficient. He did what he was expected to do. Scheduling was fine and we did not have any issues with them. I felt the price was reasonable for the service he provided.

Initially I wasn't very happy with this vendor because they weren't easy to contact. They stood me up for my initial appointment. I was finally able to set up another appointment with Mike who was extremely knowledgeable and provided me with some greast information to safeguard my laptop from future virus. He ended up having to come to my home because he couldn 't completely wipeout my hard drive remotely. He was punctual, courteous and took the time needed to complete the job properly. I really enjoyed his visit to my home and the information he shared with me regarding safeguarding my computer against future virus and also safeguards against identy theft.
Description of Work: I had a major virus in my laptop. Removed virus. Had to wipe out my hard drive and re-install all my programs.

Technician was very knowledgable and as soon as he arrived he started working on the computer . He explained the virus that was on the computer and eliminated it . He also did the numerous updates that were required since the computer had not been used. He was very nice and pleasant to deal with.

Our experience with them went okay. We only paid the $75 Big Deal. They were decent and I thought it was worth the money. The guy was knowledgeable and that was cool. We were thinking of calling the guy again if we have any trouble. The price is pretty good. He came out pretty quickly. The guy was a nice guy, but he did not fix anything. The guy showed up here, looked at it, and diagnosed it properly. He was able to draw up a resolution, but we were not able to implement it. He told us to buy a new component for the computer. We bought one and it did not fit. So, we ended up getting a new computer. He showed up on time.

The guy even had a hard time, and it took way longer than he expected, but hung in and didn't charge for the extra time.I now have a printer. He was a good guy.

Everything went well, and we were very happy with the service. Scheduling was easy, the technician arrived on time, and he did a great job of addressing the problems. In fact, I was very impressed with how quickly he diagnosed and repaired all of the issues. He was also very generous with his advice and his time because he finished the repairs with a half-hour to spare but remained with us slightly longer than an hour to answer additional questions.

Unfortunately the computer could not be started, but the tech was very helpful in reviewing the options to repair the motherboard or buy a new or refurbed machine. I appreciated the thorough analysis. Even though the outcome was not what I was hoping for, I feel it was worth the $75 for the convenience of having the tech come to me when I was available rather than waiting hours for an appointment at the Apple Store only to then be given sub-standard analysis.

We had no problem communicating with him or with his timeliness. He helped us switch over from Verizon to Comcast, but he wasn’t able to help us with a laptop during the time he was out.

I had used Geek Choice once before for a laptop issue and was so pleased with the results that I called them when my desktop started acting up. I purchased 1 hour of service through Angie's List for $100 ($50 off the regular price). Gary, the tech, was right on time. My desktop is stubborn and freezes constantly so it took him about 40 minutes to determine that the problem was related to a bad hard drive. He suggested that the whole tower be replaced as the cost to fix the hard drive problem would be about the same as a new tower would cost. Suggested buying the new tower and then having someone come back to migrate files off the old hard drive. This will entail another hour + of tech time. Since I hadn't used the whole hour that I purchased, I asked Gary if he could help with a problem that recently arose with my 1 1/2 year old laptop. The laptop recharger often doesn't work so the battery dies and then I cannot use the laptop until the recharger decides to work again. :) Gary tested the recharger and determined that the problem was with the connector on the laptop and not the recharging cord as I had hoped. Not good news. This is a very time consuming expensive job that Geek Choice doesn't perform. So, he suggested I call around to see if I can find someone who performs this service. I have since done this and have been discouraged by repair people since it is an expensive fix. I did not get anything fixed in the hour that Gary was here, but I got good advice on how to proceed. I would use Geek Choice again.
