Michael was able to get my computer viruses off my computer quickly. The big issue is that we discovered that the viruses had taken down my fire wall. In the end, we decided that it wasn't worth the risk of using the computer anymore. It could have been that my computer was so infected that even if I installed a new operating system, the virus would take down the new fire wall and make it look like it was still there. So even though I needed to go out and buy a new computer, I was grateful for Michael's discovery. I plan on having him back as he's going to help me get the wifi signal stronger throughout my house. Really impressed with this company and in particular, Michael!
Description of Work: Michael, Who can work with PCs and Mac's came over to get some viruses off my PC. Michael really knows his stuff and is half psychologist/half computer wiz. He made me question my long held belief that I am technologically challenged. Now I believe I can figure things out if I take the time to delve into the issue and do some research.

Mike arrived on time and did a great job upgrading my XP computer to Windows 7. He transferred all the files over, so we didn't lose anything, gave some recommendations, and was extremely outgoing and friendly.

The service rep was unable to fix the computer as he said it was overheating and shutting itself off. He could do only software repairs. He did troubleshoot an additional computer I had to make it run faster, but I didn't see any noticeable difference afterward. The gentleman who was sent was awkward and uncomfortable.

My laptop worked for awhile after they serviced it (maybe about 3 weeks) but then it stopped working. I was so frustrated with it that I didn't follow-up. I'm not sure if it was my laptop or their service. My desktop computer computer is still working.

It would have been nice if you could have called us to let us know if there was an issue, as we are always happy to help. Especially before giving us a D rating, when more than likely it was something wrong with the computer if it worked fine for 3 weeks

He came with an assistant and both were very knowledgeable and personable. He spent more time than was contract due to the fact that the computer was not running correctly. He know want he was doing and he spent time explaining some of the issues with me. He was going to call me back as there was additional work that he wanted to tie up. He called to make and appt. to come back, when I called him back, he said it wasn't a convenient time and he would call me back. He did not call me back and there is still an error message that pops up when I log-in, although the overall performance of the computer has been significantly improved.

The service went quite well. He was late for the appointment (caught in traffic) but did contact us to let us know. We explained what we wanted and he set to work. Very knowledgeable, professional, and informative. Did not try to "oversell". It took approximately 2 hrs, 15 minutes to complete. He did not charge for the extra 15 minutes. After he left, we had no problems using all our devises. The service was definitely worth the cost. If my husband or I had tried to do this on our own, we would have a) thrown devices out of the window in frustration, b) thrown each other out the window in frustrated agitation, c) both of the above. Thank you. We would definitely recommend this service provider.
Description of Work: He set up new computer, transferred files from old computer, installed all software programs, tested for compatibility with other computers, mobile phones and wireless printers.

When I received the initial email from the company confirming the coupon and discussing scheduling, I tried to return the email and schedule it that way. I received a return email stating that they were open until 10 pm. I called around 7 or 8 pm, and call was answered promptly. I do not remeber the woman's name, but she did sound very distracted during part of the call. I requested the service for 11 am on June 16th. I received a call in the morning of June 16th, confirming my service for 1 pm. I was away from the phone at that time ,and called back about 15 min later. I spoke with a male, I believe his name was Michael, and informed him I had requested 11 am. He was unable to accomodate me. It happened that I could be available at 1 pm, so I said ok. I did relay that the person I had made the appointment with was very distracted on the phone, but had confirmed 11 am. 1:15 came and no call, no service provider. I called to inquire about status. I know I spoke with Michael this time. He was unable to reach the tech, so put a trace on the vehicle, and learned that it had been in some type of accident. He did not know any further. I scheduled for the next day, Tues, June 17th at 3 pm, as I had plans the rest of the day. 3:15 came and no call, no tech. I phoned them again, spoke with Michael again. He tried reaching the tech, and got no answer. At this point, I had had enough. The communication was poor within the company, and the techs so far unreliable. I was on vacation that week, and it was fortunate that I could be flexible. The rest of the week I had plans, and then it was back to work. Of course, the service can only be provided "during normal business hours." Well, my next vacation is not imminent, and I am not going to waste my time scheduling service that may not happen again. I do have to say that Michael was very cooperative and pleasant. I don't know if this is a factor using a coupon, or if there scheduling in general is unreliable.

the person that was sent was really an "apple" expert and I had a Dell computer - he seemed to take a LONG time figuring out what was the problem, - and stayed far longer than I expected (about 6 hours) He did eventually help the issue as I recall, but it was quite a while ago and I am unsure of the date, to be honest with you...

It wasn't a positive experience. The technician was here for a while and I was checking on him periodically. I checked on him at one point and he said “You’re already on overtime”. I paid him for the extra half hour, but he was quite rude about it. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. I would have appreciated him telling me the hour was up and asked if I wanted him to continue. If he had, I probably would have agreed! My computer didn’t even work much better after he left. I'm willing to give them a second chance with another technician though.

Was very happy with the speed at which he worked. Definitely had a lot of knowledge working on computers. It's the first time I had to hire someone to clean out computer files and speed up the processing of my older computers which were being run on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

It was fine. That service was knowledgeable and courteous. They were punctual. I would definitely use them again if I have an issue. It didn't cost more than the big deal cost. The quality of the service was pretty nice. I didn't remember anything negative about them.

I purchased The Big Deal sometime in 2013. The first technician who came asked several curt questions about what I was looking to do and set up a home network. Unfortunately, it didn't work the way I had wanted it to. To Geek Choice's credit, they sent another technician at no cost to me to implement a fix that better met my needs.

Technician arrived promptly as scheduled. He fixed some minor problems that I was having with my MAC. He also helped retrieve my iTunes account which had somehow disappeared. He was knowledgeable and professional and I would definitely use this service again.

He showed up promptly. Getting it running again was easy--mainly a matter of plugging it in correctly. He also installed a new printer cartridge. He let me know that the old Windows XP could not be updated but that the computer could continue to be used as is. I was grateful for his kindness and thoroughness when my issues must have seemed very basic.
