An appraiser came over to look at the property and sent us a written estimate. Punctuality is not a problem and the guy was very polite. We wanted the whole roof replaced and sidings on 2 dormers repaired. the quote for the job turned out to be the most expensive of all three estimates we received and we would have to hire another company to repair dormer sidings, even though siding replacement is within the scope of services provided by Duffy Roofing. Our impression is that the project proposal was a cookie-cutter with inflated price.

Duffy Roofing re-shingled our roof, leveled a nonfunctioning chimney, and repaired exterior woodwork. We are very pleased with a nice job at a fair price. The job manager, Phil Buswell, organized the work expeditiously, responsively and with our convenience in mind. Phil?s inspection and assessment, including prioritizing recommendations within our budget, preceded the expert workmanship using impressive state-of-the art construction technology. Would recommend Duffy Roofing to others without hesitation and plan to invite them to return for further work on our house.

Very well. I was skeptical about moving to aluminum. He convinced me that, properly painted, aluminum would not detract from the looks of our 1895 house. He was willing to attempt a repair to the wood gutters, but he argued they were undersized for the roof area of our house. He was right. In fact, they look better than the wood gutter. They are larger and their scale is more approriate for the house. We had a huge thunderstorm yesterday and the gutters operated flawlessly. The crew showed up when promised and left my driveway spotless. Very impressed.

Phil is a wealth of information. After owning a total fixer-upper for several years I've becoming aware of the quirks of an old home, thanks in part to professionals like Phil who take the time to explain what is happening, what needs to be done and, most importantly, that they (Duffy Roofing) don't just put up a roof and leave, but are available anytime should anything go wrong or questions need to be asked. This last experience is a perfect example of their professionalism. I will never consider another roofer.

This is about the fifth time we've used Duffy Roofing in the past four years. We don't bother to call anyone else for roofing issues as Phil Buswell and his people have the knowledge and experience to handle almost any roofing problem or need. In this case, we were concerned about possible water entry to our home. Phil came over, evaluated the problem and provided a solution in short order. We're sure the problem is solved. Again, no trauma, no drama...just good work.

They did a very good job for me. I was very pleased with their work. My neighbor refered them to me and he was very pleased with them as well.

My living room ceiling was dripping water after the heavy rains last month. I asked around and checked Angie's List, then contacted Duffy via their website for a quote (along with a couple of other companies.) I was having trouble with my phone, luckily he was willing to respond via email. Joe Duffy came within a day to do the estimate. Provided a comprehensive estimate, with a warning that roof repairs were not guaranteed as a new roof might be. He was also personable and easy to work with. Because there was so much rain, there were many emergency requests for repairs, he got to us in a couple of weeks. His company came when I wasn't home but my downstairs neighbor reported they worked quickly (so quickly he was concerned about quality). When I brought that to Joe Duffy's attention, he sent photos of the areas that were worked on. They showed the work as detailed on the bill: Remove any damaged roof shingles on the right side main roof area. Install new architect roof shingles color to match as best as possible in the said areas. Cement flash any shingle are that the roofer deem necessary. Cement flash around both of the right side louver areas. Examine the gutter area under the leak area and cement flash where necessary. Duffy Roofing has been around many years and has done many of the homes in this area, building trust. He mentioned being able to see other potential work that needs to be done and I have requested details but haven't heard back- I assume he's still really busy, given the weather. We will definitely consider this company for future work.

Very responsive and professional. Helped a new home owner out that was in a pinch. Phil was great and is highly recommended. Was in the area with a larger crew than needed for the level of work so used the extra man power to clean out gutters at no additional cost.

They came out and were professional. However, after reading the contract, I decided not to use them. It seemed to self-serving to me.

Work was done when and as promised.

Everything went well. There were two issues with the roof, and he provided a detailed estimate for the one that he could address. He then referred me to another contractor that could address the second issue. The gentleman was very friendly, professsional, and prompt as well.

Had wind damage on my roof and got money from my insurance company to repair it. Contacted four companies for bids, including Duffy. They set up a date to come by to review my property. Then they cancelled and rescheduled. A guy came out, was surprisingly snippy in his conduct, seemed perturbed when I said a I wanted my old shingles (which had been blowing off) torn off and replaced. He said leave them on and shingle over them. He then said he'd give me a quote for reshingling over them, and another quote for stripping them off. Took my e-mail and phone number. Never heard back from him. The other three companies were extraordinarily professional and I picked one. I'll review that company when the work is done. Just disappointed with Duffy -- or maybe it was just the guy they sent out.

The company did not respond to my inquiry.

Phil was excellent. He showed up promptly at the agreed upon time. He briefly inspected our roof and gave advice frank advice on several approaches to dealing with our aging roof. Phil honestly informed me that his company was not equipped to perform the work, due to carpentry work that would be required. Although they were not in a position to provide a quote, Phil still generously offered his advice and expertise on how to manage costs of the project and the best approach.

I was very pleased. I got real personal service. They did what they said would do.

It went well. The contractor and price was appropriate. He showed up right away knowing that there was going to be a rain storm coming to my area. I am thankful for it and will most certainly use this company's services again when needed.

Professional, easy to work with and very fair pricing.

I met Phil back in July. He was the only one willing to come out and give me an estimate on a house that I had just went under agreement to buy. A lot of companies don't want to waste their time going to see a property you don't own. It was an estate sale, and due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to close until February. A couple days prior to the closing I sent Phil an email and he went out to look at the house a second time. Two days after closing I had a brand new roof, and a couple days after that brand new gutters, and a repointed chimney. Everything went smooth from start to finish. If your looking for a quick, knowledgeable, no bs roofing company this is who to call.

We got two estimates for our roof repairs, and Duffy's was right in line with the first bid. Phil Buswell came out within a day of my call, and arranged to do the work when it was convenient for us. We had a small leak in the roof and as new home owners we weren't sure exactly the scope of the work. He said the roof was in great condition and the repair could be made pretty easily. He did not try to sell us a new roof! I felt like we got honest and quick service. I would definitely recommend Duffy Roofing for your roofing needs.

I got an estimate to get a roof flashing for a 4 inch PVC pipe installed along with a gutter cleaning. The roof flashing involves cutting a hole, slipping a $10 flashing under the shingles, and nailing it down. The estimate was $889!!!! This is insane. The gutter cleaning cannot be more than $200, which leaves $689 to install a roof flashing for a PVC pipe! If you assume $10 for the part and a $70 labor rate, I guess they are claiming that the job takes nearly 10 hours. In reality, it takes about 30 minutes. Maybe the roof flashing they use is made from solid gold.

I called Duffy roofing because it appeared that our gutters were leaking. They came out the next day and took a look. After 15 minutes the worker came down off the roof and told me that everything looked great. We just had some ice that he knocked off. He then told me that there was nothing he would change, we should continue to watch it and call him if the problem came back. No charge for coming out. Fantastic.
