Description of Work: I had a leak he said it was repaired started leaking again came said I don't see leak on a sunny day twice called him leaking made me feel like I was lying showed him roof still said no leak on a sunny day never got a hose to check

We feel badly that the customer did not like our work or attitude. The story behind the story: Work was done approximately 7-10 years ago, not in April of this year. We were contracted to cement a chimney. That was the extent of the job. Previous roofer had walked off the job without flashing the chimney and would not return. We scheduled and completed the job per the contract. We were not paid for many months. We returned twice to examine a reported leak during a "heavy rains" yet found none. The contracted work was a "non-guaranteed" job because we were only repairing the other contractors roof. I never met [Member Name Removed], I met and dealt with her mother. Joseph Duffy, 9-28-17

Description of Work: We used Duffy Roofing over ten years ago. They are not located near us (Medford) so we could not use them. They were very good. I don't remember cost of service - it really probably was closer to 15 years ago that we used them.

Description of Work: Repaired broken and damaged gutters on both sides of the building. They were very responsive and did good work on the places listed in the work order. My main complaint is that they did not bring further damage they discovered to my attention, which required a second visit and additional cost. In other words, examine the initial work order carefully to be sure it includes EVERYTHING you want done. If it isn't on the order, they won't do it.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the "sort of nice review'. You were selling the house. You told me what you needed done per the inspection report to complete the sale and the time it needed to be done by. I did get it done for you. Only the left and front porch were new gutters. Cleaning and cementing of the balance of the gutters were done as a courtesy. I told you about a very high gutter that was incorrectly and the cost if you wanted us to fix it. I'm not sure where the confusion is. Exact contract language for the work you requested: Remove the existing gutter on the left main and the upper front porch area only. No other gutter areas are to be done. Install new wood fascia where the roofers deem necessary on the said areas. Install a .019ml. white aluminum fascia and a new 5” .032ml white aluminum gutter system on the said areas, approximately 65’. Connect the existing downspouts to the new gutter system. Clean out the balance of the gutters on the house. Cement flash any area that the roofers deem necessary. Clean up all exterior debris and remove upon job completion. Labor, Materials and Debris: “This gutter work must be completed before 12-28-15.” Our contract was specific and for a fixed price. It is important to us that every customer know exactly what is being done and for how much. Adding work afterwards requires a new contract with the additional cost of the work listed specifically. Description of Work: Had trouble getting the email of their estimate because Brett was spelling my name wrong in the address. When I finally got it it was $7,000 more than any of the 4 other estimates I received. He emailed me back saying that was because there was damage to shingles meeting the roof that he said they would have to fix first and this was included in the estimate. Only then would they be able to honor the guarantee they offer. I thought this was pretty professional of him actually, even though no other contractor mentioned it as an issue. Who knows, they may bring it up AFTER the fact, like so many homeowners would hate. |He didn't offer any fancy promotional materials, which I actually appreciate, he only gave me his business card. I have heard positive comments about their work and reputation so I'd give them a shot if you're looking for local estimates. Just be on the look out for high pricing.

Description of Work: I had asked Mr. Duffy to evaluate the condition of my roof and to assess the need for repairs and roof or roof accessory improvements to reduce or eliminate the ice dams we experienced this past winter.
