We contracted with Kathie Chrisicos to redesign our living aroom. From the start, Kathie was a joy to work with and made the process of decorating our room a pleasure. Kathie provided a complete floor plan and estimated pricing for our approval at the beginning of the project. After reviewing the look we were trying to achieve, she presented us with unique fabric and furniture selections that we never would have found on our own. She was always upfront about costs and respected our wishes to stay within budget, including working with some of the pieces we already owned. When it came to picking fabrics, the one we loved was too expensive, so Kathie found us a second choice that was just as nice but within our designated budget. Now that our living room is finished, we couldn't be happier and are planning another decorating project with Kathie for later this year.

Kathie Chrisicos inspected the room. Asked questions about how the family used the room and what our expectations were as to furnishings, cost, color preferences and style. She selected several options and had 3 different room designs for us to review and choose. She helped us find someone to hang the wallpaper and a painter. She coordinated the installation of the carpeting with the other work that needed to be done (wallpaper, painting, etc). Overall it was a good experience. We really enjoy the result. the family loves the sitting room/tv room. It is a gathering place because the sofa is so comfortable and the room is inviting. I look forward to my next project with Kathie.

It was the most awful experience we've ever had. Kathie has an amazing website and she promotes herself pretty well in the local media. She has a high level of professionalism and punctuality, but her project management skills were very poor. We are partly to blame because we assumed she was everything she presented herself to be and we gave her lots of room to do her job as we were really busy overseas. In hindsight, I'm pretty confident she has no design education but was a housewife who did her own house and got into the business. We never got a design plan. We never got a proper budgetary plan. She was buying very expensive items up front and we kept asking her where we were with the budgeting process. She didn't provide a spreadsheet but a 9 page rambling Word document riddled with errors. She wanted to do a couple of 'custom' pieces and they both were ordered incorrectly for the space so she kept having to rework them -- but she never took financial responsibility for her mistakes. She was a glorified personal shopper for furniture and has a good eye for fabrics, but has no idea about project management. In the end, she was over-financial budget, well over time budget, she only bought designer pieces although we agreed retail would be fine, and she never completed the project. She's very nice but you definitely need to guide her a lot and take charge of any project yourself. This was a really stressful relationship!
