We are still dealing with them now. We are having some trouble purchasing a house, not through their issue or fault, but through the seller, that he got a home equity loan and is reluctant to tell anybody, so they have been working over time to try to resolve the issue, and we are quite happy with them. They get paid through facilitating the seller’s commission. They e-mail several times a day. If I call him and he doesn’t pick up, he calls me back within 15 minutes maximum. He is on top of the issues, and he has been working over time since this thing popped up yesterday. He is extremely responsive, always professional and courteous. He is there when he says he is going to be. There are also closing attorneys in their office for no extra cost, so I don’t have to pay for that either. I would rate him highly. I would definitely use them again in the future if needed.

Even though there are literally thousands of reputable websites that are designed to independently guide you through the home buying and mortgage process, nothing can replace the experience of working directly with a competent, expert, and professional real estate agent. Buying a home, especially for the fist time, can be overwhelming. We all know that there are several peaks and valleys along the way. Christine had the innate ability to keep us calm throughout the process and was always there for us. No phone call or email was ever left unanswered. We have been looking for a home for several years in the Newburyport, NH Seacoast and Andover areas. We searched web sites daily and went to many open houses. Since we are very familiar with Seabrook Beach, NH, we kept an eye open for opportunities. When a certain foreclosed home dropped into our price range, we researched real estate agents before we looked at the property. I had narrowed agencies down to Redfin (great web site, agents paid hourly, and they give you back money at closing) and Buyers Brokers (they only represent buyers, you pay nothing, and they are also attorneys with a lot of great knowledge). Both had great internet reviews and ratings too. Since Redfin does not deal with NH and has little knowledge of this area, I spoke with Rich Rosa from Buyers Brokers, and he put me in contact with Derek who works out of their Portsmouth office the same day. Derek called me back that day, and we discussed doing business. I was very optimistic after speaking with him, and knew he would do a great job for us. We decided on a shwoing for the weekend. Since we live 50 miles we decided to meet Derek for a showing on a Sunday, which Derek was glad to do. He arrived right on time for the showing. Ahead of meeting us, he researched some comparables, so we had a decent idea of what the property was worth. Since this was a foreclosure there was very little information available, but he was able to give us his opinion. What also impressed me was that he was not a pushy sales person, and had the tendancy to proceed with caution. This was a big purchase for us so we appreciated that. After the showing we talked to Derek about putting in an offer. We had a price in our minds, and we talked through a strategy for the offer. Did I mention it was Super Bowl Sunday? Derek was able to put an offer together and send us an email that night to review. It was great that Derek could send and receive all of our documents via email, since we were 50 miles away. The next day Derek submitted the offer to the agent and bank. Since this was an REO foreclosure owned by the bank we thought it may take a while for them to respond. However that Monday they accepted our first offer! Buyers Brokers recommended Jackson Home Inspection out of Andover (we could have used anyone). We checked out Jackson on Angies List and went with them. Since the home was winterized and took some time for the water and heat to be turned on, we had the inspection the following Sunday. Derek also accompanied me to this. Throught the entire process Derek stayed in close contact with us, guiding and advising every step of the way. We had one small glitch with the title insurance, and Derek helped us to change course and recommended some alternatives which turned out to be beneficial. He was very patient and always available via email or phone. Derek worked with us right up until reviewing the final HUD statement, and attended our closing with us. We never saw the bank's listing agent - he insulated us from that, and I am glad he did as I would not have given the seller's agent my business if I had to deal with them. Overall I never thought I would get into buying a foreclosure, and probably would not have done so without Derek's knowledge and partnership. Buyers Brokers has a great business model - your real estate agent is also your attorney, and you pay nothing. They get paid by the seller's commission. Our closing went smoothly, and we are thrilled with our new property. I would never buy a home without these folks!
Description of Work: We bought our home in Seabrook NH today with the help of Derek Durbin at Buyers Brokers, and we could not be more pleased. Buyers Brokers was our real estate broker as well as attorney. We had worked with Derek for the past 6 weeks to purchase a foreclosed home, and we closed on March 15th. We paid nothing - they make their monye from a piece of the seller's commission. Overall their service is fabulous - Derek Durbin was great and I could not be more happy with his service. I am very picky and have done a lot of research, and am so glad we used them. While there are some very good real estate agents out there, in the past I came across many who had little training or experience. Do you want a school teacher or house wife who acts as a part time real estate agent, or do you want a professional attorney on your side? Don't buy a home in MA or NH without talking to these folks!

David Kres with his knowledge of real estate showed me a few houses that were a right fit for me. After finding a house in the last week of April, he worked hard to get the closing on April 30th (the $8,000 tax credit deadline for 2010). I had a few problems with the appraisal and the current mortgage company I was using. He recommended a mortgage company he uses and everything went smooth. David is honest and upfront with everything he says and does. He is very professional with the emails and even the way he speaks to you. With his knowledge as a lawyer he worked out the purchase and sale and all addendums to the purchase and sale quickly and on time. At one point he even offered some of his commission to keep the sale moving. David is very knowledgeable in all real estate sales. In the end I closed on time and with no problems. He even filed my homestead afterwards for free. I highly recommend David and Buyers Brokers Only LLC.
