Bay State Remodeling

I contacted Bay State to have an old bath tub refinished. Juan was the technician that was sent to my house and he was great. He called ahead to let me know he was on his way and arrived several minutes early. He explained the process to me and immediately got to work. He was friendly and professional and the quality of his work is great. I have already recommended Bay State to friends.

In this day and age, when a provider does a job this well from start to finish and is of such meticulous high quality it deserves the best review it can get. That was our experience with Bay State Refinishing and Remodeling and the work done by their technician Juan. Our tubs/showers are beautiful. Smooth as glass and delightfully brand new. Juan's masking of the bathroom was meticulous. There is not an errant drop of refinishing anywhere. His application of the resurfacing was scrupulous and exact. Not to mention he is polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. I found out when booking the second bathroom that you can request a particular technician. Do yourself a favor and ask for Juan. Martha who handles the bookings, and who I talked with a number of times, is also great. She helped move dates around, knew the answers to all questions, and was all-around awesome. The price for our bathrooms was $595 with an extra $50 for the tile surround on the upstairs unit. The end result is worth every penny. This company keeps getting A ratings for a reason. You will not be disappointed.

Bay State refinishing and remodeling did a great job renovating our bathroom. In particular, David and Darly were great to work with. As project manager, David communicated with us regularly and really worked with us to make sure we were getting what we wanted. And Darly, who did the framing, sheetrock, tile, and other aspects of the job, really cared about the work he was doing and also made sure he was providing us with what we wanted throughout the project. Bay State pricing was fair, and was lower than the other estimates we got. They started on time and the work progressed smoothly. We really love our new bathroom and would use Bay State again. Wish we had done this years ago!

They did a 100% great job. Excellent all the way around and my tub looks brand new. Thanks for the professionalism and paitence.

The Bay State refinishing team was punctual, professional and extremely responsive. They sanded and applied what appeared to be an epoxy material to the tub. The entire process took about 2 hours. After 2 days the material was dry and we noticed a few bumps on the bottom of the tub. I contacted Martha at Bay State and she promptly scheduled a follow-up visit. The technician carefully sanded the bumps and now the tub looks so good that we are planning to replace the shower curtain with a glass door. I was very impressed with both the finished product and the service that Bay State Refinishing provided.

I'm not a big fan of writing reviews unless I think they could really help someone. We had a terrible experience with a contractor a few years ago and I was really skeptical of hiring a contractor again to do the complete remodeling project that we needed for our really outdated bathroom. I started searching online for local companies with the best reviews and after a really long search, I chose four companies. One of them never answered my calls or email. The second one came to do the onsite estimate but they never sent the estimate to me. I did call a few times to see what happened and they never answered. The third one's price just wasn't within our budget. Finally, Bay State Refinishing was the only one with a prompt response and, after a few questions, I had already scheduled an onsite estimate free of charge. The day that Ray came to our home to take a look at our bathroom, he listened carefully to our ideas, pointed clearly what was doable and what was not, and also gave us a few more tips and ideas based on what we were looking to do. We got an estimate within a couple of days and the price they gave us was a reasonable price (not the lowest or the highest). Ray, David, and the rest of the team always showed up on time and communication with them was always on point. They were always professional which gave me total confidence in the company's integrity. They also had all the paperwork required by the condo association. Everything went as expected. The job took a little longer than I anticipated but that was something that didn't have anything to do directly with them (it was due to inspections). I am so happy with the results in my bathroom. I'm so glad I found an honest company and someone that I can recommend to my friends and family.

Please see above. Yuri is by far one of the most polite individuals we have ever met. He is extremely thorough and worked hard throughout the day with Juan. Our old bathtub and tile walls now look outstanding!

Unfortunately this did not have a good result for us. Cruz came on time and was very careful to cover everything in the room to protect it from any paint splatter. He was very polite and personable. He prepared the tub and refinished it-and then put the non-slip finish in the bottom of the tub. When he finished it needs to harden for 24-48 hours, but he showed it to me. It clearly had many bubbles on the inside of the tub and around the top edges of the tub. I was not happy with what I saw. I questioned him and he said they would settle as the tub paint dried.( He said maybe he didn't use a strong enough fan.) And if not he could come back and "buff it out". Well, 2 days later the bubbles were still there and now were concave bubbles and hardened. Cruz came back and buffed the tub. It is a little better( a bit smoother) but you can see and feel these areas all over the tub. We had his supervisor come out ,and he said he would leave it alone-this is what can happen with paint-but they would re-do the whole job if we wanted. But they could not guarantee the same thing wouldn't happen again. They also would not give us any money back. Either Redo with no guarantee or nothing. We have chosen to not redo the tub and go through the whole process again. I am very disappointed that tub reglazing was not a positive experience for us. However, the company is professional-provided a written estimate with costs and replied to all our calls. I don't recommend refinishing for everyone, as it isn't the same as a new tub. And there are so many things you cant put on it or it can ruin the finish. It did not meet our expectations.(Process seemed too good to be true and I guess it was.) We don't feel we were asking for too much to have a smooth paint job. I would consider using this company again for other services -just not for reglazing my tub.

We had an outdated half bath from the 60s with a small footprint. We wanted to replace the tile, fixtures & walls. Basically everything in the 4x5' room. This was one of those projects that I probably could have done myself but like typical DIY projects for me it would have taken months and been kind of crummy. Bay State was able to do the job from start to finish in about a week and the room looks excellent. We provided the fixtures, tile & paint; Bay State came and demo'ed, put in the new tile/walls/fixtures, and painted. When we didn't like the color we chose, Bay State repainted with a darker shade for no additional cost. This was not a multimillion $ project, and initially we were frustrated with short delays to getting work started. However David, Dali and the crew communicated well and we felt like they were as focused as we were to get the job done on time and to make it a quality project despite being a small and unglamorous room. David even texted different marble options for the threshold from the store. We recommend Bay State Remodeling and would hire them again for other projects.

Excellent service and professionalism. The folks who schedule try their best to fit you in even when they are booked solid and the tech was awesome. Very prompt and went about his business without interruption until the job was done. Definitely using them again.

The remodel went very well. It was completed on time and they worked quickly to get my one and only bathroom back in working order.

Russell did a great job! It turns out nicely. We needed touch up some areas after and he revisited after a week then did a nice touch up for the bathtub. He explained about warranty that make me happy because I don't have to worry about chip off. Martha in the office was so responsible and efficient too. Thanks for your wonderful work. Refinishing the old bath tub and tiles were lots of stress for me. No more stress now!

Yuri was great. My bathtub looks new. He was prompt, courteous, kept the area clean. There is a smell for the first 24 hours so I put towels under the door and left the bathroom window open and by day 2 it was barely noticeable and by day 3 it was gone. One thing they should make customers aware of in advance is that if you want them to come back to regrout, it has to be done 48 hours later and that has to be scheduled and is an extra $65. It was fine but I work and can't always be here to let them in. Also, they should be clear the bathtub surface is not smooth completely due to small defects present already. In addition, it is VERY slippery so you might want to buy the nonslip bottom.

Again unable to use them, but would recommend them

This is the email I sent to my contact there after several phone call and not hearing back about some serious complaints. They claim they tried to reach me several times to "compensate" me for inconvenience which, they did not. "First, the issue I began to discuss with you where the tech gave me different information than you had. First I was told the grouting and the non-stick could not be done the same day, then the tech told me that if he had to come back there would be an additional fee. The finish that was put on the bathtub was not even, there are grooves in the bottom of the tub. I attempted to speak with the tech about this. He stated I was supposed to know that there were defects in the tub itself. Also, that he could fix it, but only if he voided the warranty. So, my two options were: an uneven finish, or no warranty. I was present in the home throughout the process, I asked, if there was a defect that would impact the finished job, why was I not told? Further, there is a portion of the tub, the drain surround, that was not repainted, now it does not match. In the photos I reviewed on your website, the area around the drain was painted to match. Yesterday while cleaning, I found a used and rusty blade on the floor in my bathroom. This is clearly a serious danger." Though I appreciate the response from the provider below, this is the first response I received from them about the issues. The email I referenced above was never replied to. I reviewed the paperwork provided and the information about the embedded issues was not addressed there nor was I made aware. The second visit is when the rusty used blade was left on the floor. This is also the first offer for a follow-up visit made a year later.

The technician Yuri, came and reviewed the area to be coated. He masked off everything that mattered (towel bar, curtain rod, windows, etc...) then cleaned and coated the tile. He was very thorough and did a good job not getting the paint anywhere it shouldn't have been. The ventilation system pulled out the majority of the offensive odor. He did a good job explaining the process and how to care for it in the future. Overall I am satisfied with the work.

For some reason we chose to do a gut renovation of our one and only bathroom in February, which of course turned out to be the snowiest month in the history of Boston. But Bay State made it happen, and we're very pleased with the final result! Ray and David were very responsive and easy to communicate with, always returning my calls/texts/emails. They were usually good at letting us know when they'd be here, and were proactive about letting us know when a change in plans was going to result in an change in cost. David worked closely with us to make sure he and the rest of the crew understood what we wanted. Since the project finished there have been a couple of minor issues to wrap up, and they have continued to be responsive and committed to making sure everything is working well and we are satisfied with every detail. Everyone was friendly, courteous, professional, and flexible. We really appreciated the many hours put in by Darly and Adisio, who were here most days, often working late to keep our project on schedule. Darly did a great job of working with us to refine our tile design. All in all, we would highly recommend Bay State to anyone, and we look forward to having them back here for other projects!

Bay State was outstanding! This was my first time using them and I could not be more pleased. Started when they said they would and worked everyday until completed. They even cleaned the front stair rugs upon completion. Every aspect of their work was of the highest quality. Marcio is nothing less than a master craftsman and very helpful with suggestions. David worked every step of the way with me; even the smallest variation from the original plan and I got phone call from him updating me. My satisfaction was his highest goal. John, the plumber, worked late one night to get the project completed on schedule. Don't hesitate to use Bay State Refinishing and Remodeling; I won't think twice to use them again.

In the beginning their was some confusion about the pricing on my behalf. Yuri and his colleague helping him was extremely professional and kind. My bath tub and walls look great and refreshing. I would absolutely use them again in the future, if needed.

Excellent. They were courteous and professional on the phone and provided thorough instructions to prepare for the work and what to afterwards. Yuri and Javi were the technicians and did an excellent job. Very polite, friendly and efficient...good representatives of the company.

Yuri and Javi did wonderful work. They arrived right on time, did the job right, explained the follow up steps clearly, and left the bathroom remarkably clean. I don't know how I would have improved their work. One point I want to stress: the cleanliness of the process--especially because I expected it to be at least a little messy. Much of the time was devoted to covering (I mean COVERING) the bathroom in protective paper, so that when they left no paint, dust, or dirt had gotten on any other bathroom surface. They even put down paper by the front door to be sure they didn't track in dirt from outside. This is the kind of carefulness you always want people to demonstrate--and these guys did it. The only difficulty with the process was getting it scheduled. The company asked me to email them pictures of the problem, and communication about those pictures wasn't good. But, once the scheduling was in place, the process went very smoothly.

.Baystate Remodeling showed up on time and completed the job in the quoted timeframe. The refinished tub looks much better and the anti slip coating is nice (think bottom of a pool). It does however smell heavily for a couple days while drying and has already chipped in a couple locations. While I'm not sure it will stand the test of time, it is quite good given the relatively low cost.

They showed up when they said they were going to. They cleaned up after themselves everyday, and they did real good.

I am very pleased overall. The company was very responsive to inquiries/schedule requests. Yuri and his partner were very polite and professional and did a great job. After the job was complete, I noticed two small spots that were missed. I emailed and they immediately scheduled a follow up appointment to fix those spots. Recommended.

It went very well and exactly as described. The technician, Yuri Britu, arrived on time on the scheduled date, sealed off the nearby surfaces, and proceeded with the reglazing process, which took 2-3 hours. He vented the bathroom with a flexible hose/tube to cut down on the fumes. Yuri was professional and knowledgable, selecting a finish that would better match the new sink and toilet (I had specified another finish, which would have been too dark). I am very pleased with the end result -- it looks like a new tub without the expense and hassle of removing and replacing such a heavy and basically sound tub.
