 + 0 moreWe had gotten one other bid and this was the lower of the two, but probably the reason for selecting them, in addition to the price, was their professionalism, their promptness and the fact that they are "restoration" people who know older buildings (ours is 1850). (We had called several other firms but only one other had even bothered to call back). They provided an estimate, and then a contract, within 2 days. They are located near the South End in Boston and are therefore very handy for anyone living in or near South End, Beacon Hill, Roxbury, or Back Bay. They are very knowledgeable about brownstone and its peculiarities. The quality of their work was excellent. We would have no hesitation in calling them again.
Description of Work: Removed loose brownstone from top of front entrance (lintel); Repaired brownstone using SIKA 123 Repair Mortar; and painted area of repair with exterior latex paint to match existing color. The work required some complex stationing of ladders over brownstone steps in order to reach the top of the lintel which was approximately 15 feet above ground level. This was done quickly and efficiently. This saved us charges for staging.
