A1 HARDWOOD FLOOR

Came to look at my floors, which are old and uneven, and was confident he could do it. I didn't compare price with some of the very inexpensive companies I have used, but he came highly recommended by my contractor and I didn't want to take any chances with the most public areas of my house. They were pretty careful about sealing off the house, and cheerfully did the little extras I requested. I was careful to walk through after sanding to check for very small spots they might have missed and they were extremely pleasant about fixing them--then I saw them checking again so I might not have needed to point them out, but I was nervous because this is probably the last time these very old floors will take sanding. Poly dried very quickly and the whole thing was done in three days. Communication is a bit of an issue---one of the younger guys who was there only the first day spoke great English, but the head man, whose name I'm afraid I did not get, is a little hard to understand.

Overall, I love the floors - they came out great. I initially called Sergio's (Angie's List reference) but he said that he subbed all of this type of work to A1. So I called An - he was difficult to understand (especially on the phone) so I was initially worried, but I sent him an email to follow up with our address and exactly what we wanted and how much we agreed on for price. I called the day before to confirm, and he showed up with his colleague exactly at 8am as scheduled. They estimated 2 days to do the work and then we could walk on them the third day. I went in on the third day and they looked great! They had cleaned up for the most part and I was very pleased. There was some dust in the kitchen from the sanding, but it wasn't much. They cleaned the main areas.
