I selected a service appointment a few hours hence, and a service tech phoned me right on schedule. He took remote control of the PC, and I was able to view his actions on its monitor. We had agreed not to "chat" during the session; he would phone back if he had to, otherwise when he was done. Results: He described a regimen of routine "clean-ups" that he had performed [ho-hum], but that he was unable to install 2 of 4 MS Windows security updates [without explanation]. Also, that PlumChoice installation of the AV software would be a separate service [$35], so perhaps I should attempt it myself. I did, and it STILL DID NOT install. Nor did those 2 of the 4 MS Windows security updates. Out $50 for what?
Description of Work: From their extensive menu of fixed price Online services, I selected a PC optimization, for $50, based upon its description of likely corrective outcomes. My spouse's Dell PC would not install an AV software renewal/update nor current MS Windows security updates.

Had some problems getting my appointment scheduled, but once I did, the tech called an hour ahead to talk with me about my problem. After about 45 minutes, he was never able to log into my computer. But he was able to walk me through my issues and they were resolved. I originally signed up for a PC Tune-Up for $129.95. The tech said, he didn't think I needed that and told me, I instead should use a service costing much less for my problem and I would save myself a lot of dollars. And in the end, he said because he was not able to log into my computer THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE AT ALL! Nice. I received email confirming that service was not completed and no charge. When scheduling the appointment you are required to pick a service from a long list of options and provide credit card info. I found when my credit card billing was received, I was charged the original $129.95 charge for my unused service. I emailed PlumChoice's billing department and explained the service was not completed and asked them to reverse the charge. Within two days I received confirmation from them that the charge was being refunded. I was a happy customer!
Description of Work: My 2-year old computer had a strange problem. Would not allow me to open up either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. PlumChoice is an online service that can fix items on the computer by allowing their technician to go onto your computer online. I used them in the past and was very satisfied with their work and their understanding of something that I know nothing about, technical problems.

They are an on line service and they fix your computer remotely. They were very professional, competent, and friendly. They don t make you feel stupid, and I would highly recommend them to anyone, at least anyone that can follow simple directions. They are very fairly priced as well.
Description of Work: I had a slow connection and the bandwidth dropped way off. I was thinking I needed to replace my computer and they confirmed that it was Comcast s problem. I appreciated their honesty and I only paid for an hour of work.

He called my home phone at 7:50pm for an 8pm appointment. I explained that my computer was slowing down and I couldn't figure out why. He explained what he could do and I allowed him to do those procedures mentioned above.
Description of Work: Ed Ford got rid of temp files in my overburdened computer, erased unused files, spyware files (added without my permission) and checked every file for viruses. It took more than an hour. I got to watch everything he did. He was personable and easy to question.

I MADE AN APPOINTMENT ON THE WEB AT WWW.PLUMCHOICE.COM AND A TECH CALLED AT THE REQUESTED TIME. SINCE I HAD ALREADY RUN DIAGNOSTICS AND SPYWARE, HE TRIED A FEW THINGS AND SPOTTED THE PROBLEM -- SOME ORPHAN SOFTWARE THAT DID NOT COMPLETELY UNINSTALL -- AND FIXED IT. HE ALSO RECOMMENDED PCILLIAN AND SENT ME A LINK AND GAVE ME A FEW POINTERS ON INSTALLATION. THE TECH WAS GREAT! I'LL DEFINITELY USE PLUMCHOICE AGAIN.
