ELAD ROOFING & DEVELOPMENT INC

To be up front - I estimated the year - it was either 2010 or 2011. There was like a snow emergency and over the years - I had seen the 'Elad' (which is just Dale spelled backwards) plowing the streets for the town. I contacted Dale - who I recall as being Dale Jr. about removing the extreme weight of snow from my roof. We talked in-person. My house is close to 100 years old - and I have both done Many projects - and there are Many projects left to do. I told Dale the roof is (was) very old and that the shingles are brittle and frail. - He was swamped with requests for immediate snow removal (of roofs). He gave me a quote of $800 (for like a few hours of work) (Ooch!). With my budget I asked about a 'partial' - just to get rid of the bulk of snow. He said they could do the lower 2/3rds for $500 (still Ooch!). I made clear - for them to NOT get any closer to the surface of the roof than 1-2 INCHES!! They were fast and punctual about getting there and doing the work ---- BUT ---- they chipped the h*** out of my old roof. - There were CHUNKS OF MY SHINGLES ALL OVER THE SNOW!!! --- And like many contractors - many cigarette butts all over my yard to boot (can you tell - I DON'T smoke!) Dale Jr came by later that day to collect the money. Then he had the gall to tell ME - my roof is OLD and BRITTLE!! He did NOT supervise the job - and (apparently) did NOT communicate our agreement to NOT clear the show down to the OLD shingles. We quietly argued about this damaging and sloppy job - but I could tell - he didn't care - NO remore. What gets me - (on top of this) is he still had the 'Guts' to present me with a business card - to have them re-roof my house when the time came!! That's like crashing into a car - denying you caused the crash - then saying 'Hey bring your car to MY body shop'! Crazy! I'm sure that roofing is a brutal kind of work - the risks weight of carrying materials UP a ladder - and insurance must be expensive. - And at the same time - don't treat me like I'm stupid. About a year later - I DId have half of my roof redone - but NOT by 'Elad'.
