 + 0 moreInstallation was quick and no mess was left. Some details that were discussed in the quote were not met in actuality (replacing aluminum siding where removed). Overall, the install went smoothly and we were mostly satisfied. We were newly 1st time home owners at the time. 9 years later and we discovered a leak in two of the roofs. The underlayment was saturated with water and there were signs that the flashing had not been installed properly to begin with. I called and after some discussion (and a lot of research on my part), we reached an agreement on the necessity for warranty repair. The crew came out and replaced the roofing on the two roofs. They did a much better job this time and additional securing of the vertical roofing material was installed, as it should have been during the original install. We are very happy with the repair.
Description of Work: Install rubber roofing on 4 flat roofs on the additions of our home.

 + 1 moreThe gentleman on the phone at AC Castle quoted us $500 for half a house ($1000 for whole house) snow and ice dam removal. When the crew showed up a different guy said it was $300 a side (4 sides) and wouldn't budge and didn't know about the phone quote. So we paid the $600. When we called to complain we got the phone guy again and when I explained that they were giving us two different prices based on two different metrics (whole or half house vs. quarter of house) his response was that it was expensive to pay and insure his crew. Wrong answer. Bottom line is that these guys were quick to respond and showed up on time and did the job, which took them by the way only 25 minutes. But they come across as price gougers when two different people at the same company are giving two different quotes. They need to get their act together. We wouldn't work with them again.

 + 0 moreAfter checking out many reviews on the BBB and Angies List and knowing folks who have used A C Castle Roofing in the past I made the decision that I should myself use them for my new roof. Having just purchased this home I was concerned that I wanted the best and most reliable roof I could get. I called the owner, Brian about a quote that had been provided before I owned the home and made sure it was still accurate as it was over two months old, he explained to me it was and I sent the 1/3 down payment. Once the check was received it was literally 4 days until the roof was complete, Brian told me it would take his team only a day to complete, and he was correct. At 7:30AM right on the nose an army of roofers descended upon my house and moved patio furniture, put tarps down on the lawn and on all the landscaping, and moved items that may be damaged in the process. When I got home at 5PM it was like they were never there. Brand new roof, cleaned gutters and not a scrap of roof or nail to be found. They even hosed down the house and put everything back where it was before I left. The crew that came in the morning were extremely friendly and let me know what they would be doing, they assured me that they would do their very best to make sure none of the mature bushes and landscaping would be damaged, but of course they could not promise no damage due to the nature of falling debris. I must say, the price was great, the roof looks fantastic, and the professionalism and responsiveness was very good. Brian explained everything in detail for me and I am a very happy customer.

 + -1 moreWe did not hire this company as we did not purchase the home, as it not only needed a new roof but other needed work which we were not prepared financially to take on and decided not to purchase thehome. However, my family will defintely consider hiring A.C. Castle Roofing and Construction Company in the future to do work on our current home or future home if and when we may need their services Regarding thei estimate, their price was not the highest estimate we received and it was also not the lowest estimate we received. . We feel their estimate was average, right on target. However, we felt that we were dealing with an above average company, from the moment we called them, to their quick response time and excellent customer service. This company stands out high above the other companies we called for estimates. Also, the warranty and roofing material included in this company's estimates included one of the best warranties out there and included the higher quality roofing materials..
Description of Work: My husband and I had put an offer on a house we wanted to purchase. We included a home inspection contingency with our offer. Our offer was accepted and home inspection scheduled. The home inspection revealed home needed a new roof some other needed repairs. It was important for us to get quotes from contractors on the cost to replace the roof along with the other work that was revealed in the home inspection that needed to be done immediately. We needed to get the work estimates as soon as possible in order to decide whether or not we could afford to go forward with the purchase of this home. We had difficulty finding companies that were available to price the job before our home inspection contingency deadline, many companies wanted to postpone pricing the job until a week after the 4th of July holiday, which was too late for the contingency deadline we had to meet. Some companies informed us that they don't even offer estimates until after the purchase goes through, regardless that current homeowners give future home owner permission for contractors to come to the property to price out the workoutlined in prepurchase home inspection. However, when we contacted A.C. Castle Roofing & Construction Company there were no excuses, no delays in getting them to price a new roof for this property. Not only were they able to meet our contingency deadline, but within 24 hours of contacting the company, the owner of the company drove the 25+ miles to the property we were hoping to buy, and look at the property's roof. Within 48 hours we had a written estimate which the owner hand delivered to my house along with dropping off samples of roofing materials that was available for us to select from. Unfortunately, when he stopped by my house , I was walking out my front door to take a family member to work whose carpooler didn't show up and felt bad I was not able to give the owner the courtesy of my time when he showed up to my house to deliver his estimate and samples. FYI, over the years I have heard of this company, t A.C. Castle Roofing & Construction Company from friends who used the company a few times over the last 15-20 years to do roof work or put new roofs on their properties. However, I had not needed their services until now. I also decided to I look up the company on Angie's List to check for customer feedback from Angie members. What I found, was the same feedback, excellent customer reviews regarding high customer satisfaction on the work this company does.

Description of Work: AC Castle stripped and roofed out house. They replaced older boards and removed all debris in a professional and timely manner. The 1st day on the job rain threatened to fall so they accommodated and pushed the job out a day to keep the house dry. The were careful to not disturb existing gardens and shrubbery around the house. I will recommend them again.

 + -1 moreThey say that they will do your roof in just a day, and they almost did. They sent an army of workers that finished about 98% of the work in a day and then for the next two weeks we had just a single guy come buy working away, being noisy and ladders and gear all over the place. Plus, there were NAILS ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY!!!!! I actually had to replace 2 of my tires because nails got in them...so that's another couple of hundred dollars right there. Plus out gutter cleaning company told us later that some of the roof was already coming up at the edges and that was just a year later. Finally, another person in my building saw the owner of the company parking in a handicap stop to run in and do an errand at a store. Who does that?

Their work was great - and when a freak winter storm hit and tore some shingles away....they were there same day I called to set up repair. Done within 48 hours. I cannot recommended them more! best price, best service!

My home is approximately 2000 sq. ft. living space. I like the way Brian Leblanc did business. He measured the home and sat down and prepared a contract at the kitchen table. My requirements were listed and he filled in all other necessary details. I considered the price to be reasonable. He supervised the job, going over all the requirements with his crew and inspected the work when the job was completed. He communicated with me as to the schedule for completion, any delays due to weather and when materials and crew would arrive. This communications, in my opinion, is vital when working with any vender. The job was completed on schedule. It took three days to complete the job and one of the days work was cancelled due to rain. A.C. Castle's crew was outstanding. No nonsense, experienced, polite and courteous. Each day the crew would clean the grounds of any shingle debris, wrappings, nails etc. Another plus for for workmanship. Great job.

 + -1 moreThis crew is FAST. They arrived and really went to town, but it was all done very professionally, and they cleaned up after themselves, which was important to me, since I have animals, and did not want them stepping on an errant nail.
Description of Work: My roof was leaking, and I was very concerned, because water was coming through an electrical fixture. I called, and got an estimate very quickly. I elected to have them peel the old roof off, and replace it, so that I could do a layover the next time. I expect to be retired by then, so it will save money at that time.

 + -1 moreThe job they did was both good and bad. They took eleven days to finish a job which would take a day and a half. They just kept coming and going. We had no communication with them. I was not aware of things most of the time. They had poor communication with their own people and they had no idea. Couple of guys were good and the rest of the just sat around. I will not use them again.

 + 1 moreWe were taking on water upstairs in our 19th century home during severe rainstorms. AC Castle got back to us quickly, gave us the best price by far and got the job done in very challenging conditions. I can't comment on the quality of the work yet, because we haven't had a big rainstorm, but it certainly looks good. Our only complaint would be professionalism. We asked AC Castle to stay in touch with us throughout the process, letting us know when work would begin. That didn't happen. In fact, the mason came and went without us knowing that the work on the chimney had been done until we called to ask for a status report. That said, I'd recommend AC Castle without reservation. There aren't a lot of companies that will do major roofing and chimney work in December. We're happy with the service and the price.

 + 0 moreCalled for a quote, the owner, Brian, responded and came when he said he would. I had a lot of questions about how he would work with the old wood gutters and was concerned about what would happen when they came off. Brian sat with me and drew out what his plans were. He stopped by the following day with a list of houses he did in my area, and a list of references. Once I signed the contract the materials were delivered the following day. His crew showed up the day after that. They worked two full days from before 8 until after 6. A smaller crew came after that to rake up debris. Am very happy with work done. They were quick and professional. Brian could not have been more responsive. Always called back within 15 minutes. I wasn't completely happy with the color of the ridge shingles. Brian came over to look at it. Worked with his supplier, and in a few days it was fixed and perfect. He was great to work with. I was nervous to go with the lowest quote, but am glad I did.
Description of Work: Removed old shingles. Installed new GAF 30-year shingles. Removed original wood gutters. Installed primed fascia board and new gutters. Replaced rubber roof on a flat porch.

Ron had a tech in the Gloucester area, so he was able to call to get the tech to do that quote that morning. The quoted price was right in line with other quotes that we received, but what made us go with them was that Ron was able to schedule for the next day, Saturday morning. The techs showed up on time and did a nice job.

 + -1 moreThe initial quote (one of three we requested) was done quickly, with thorough explanation of probable additional repair costs for broken boards, etc. It was lowest estimate of three. Job was started as soon as we made down payment, and copy of insurance was provided. Nine roofers worked for first two days, and job was finished up the third day. Quality was excellent with proper waterproofing and anti-icing, and new fascia boards. All shingles hand nailed. Cleanup was thorough.
Description of Work: Stripped old shingles, replaced roof boards as necessary, and applied 30 yr GAF Timberline Architectural shingles. Reloaded and re-pointed chimney.
