We had a bathroom that needed a complete gut (right down to and including the joists and supports) and total rebuild/remodel due to water damage from a back-up and slow leak. It was a tough and dirty job, but the BRJ crew handled it with aplomb. Once work began it proceeded quickly and smoothly, finishing in about two working weeks, which was amazing considering the amount of work that needed to be done on this project. Ben and Neil and the rest of the crew were totally professional and a joy to work with, going above and beyond, even tackling some adjacent concerns while still coming in on time and under budget(!). The final product speaks for itself: rock solid, looking great (like a whole new room, really), and a pleasure to use now. Highly recommended!

Ben is the consummate professional. He listened to our needs and stayed within both our budget and our schedule. Although it had to be difficult with supply chain issues due to COVD, Ben handled everything and shielded us from any issues. His organization skills were second to none and all of his subcontractors were amazing. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our new bathroom!

Had an absolutely outstanding experience working with BRJ. Everything was done as agreed upon and their work was excellent. One thing that we were particularly thankful for was that while they were doing our kitchen, they made life easier than we had anticipated. We still had use of our refrigerator, they kept the stove connected throughout most of the project and they even set up a portable sink for us to use. They kept the disruptions minimal. They cleaned up well at the end of every day. Additionally, they are all great guys and were a pleasure to do business with. Our kitchen is beautiful and we highly recommend them!

Hiring a contractor is always a crapshoot. Youre not just hiring a single person; theres a whole team that comes with them, implementing most of the details, spending days or weeks in your home a strange process at the best of times, and made even more so by Covid. We got a good vibe off Ben when he came to meet us, but it wasnt until work was solidly underway, and at least five different workmen had taken turns basically moving into our basement to put in a new bathroom, that we realized what a good move it had been to choose BRJ Builders. Every member of his team was skilled, professional, efficient, friendly, flexible, and (not least) communicative, all of them totally willing to pause in their work to answer my questions and let me know what to expect. Their responsiveness was all the more important because my husband is chronically ill, ultra-sensitive to dust and noise, and needed to plan his own comings and goings around the work in the house â especially when we decided to expand the job and redo our upstairs bathroom at the same time. And how did all the work turn out? Better than Id even imagined. We are beyond satisfied & is more like it. The work did take a couple of weeks longer than the original estimate but, again, this is Covid time, when deliveries of shower doors were delayed, and the town inspectors werent always available. Even so, the process was smooth and efficient, and I wouldnt have wanted them to compromise on quality just to get it done a day or two faster. Honestly, *every single detail* of the job was beautifully done. AND it came in exactly on budget not even a penny over estimate. Hire Ben and his crew. Youll be happy you did.

From start to finish we felt confident with Ben, Josh and their crew. Any concerns we had throughout the process were quickly eradicated by their open communication and overall knowledge. Professional, clean, courteous, always available to answer questions and address any possible issues. Our basement buildout began w a handful of ideas but with their attention to detail, hard work and talented craftsmanship, the most incredible space was created. We cannot stress how impressed we were seeing our vision come to fruition. The project superseded our expectations. I love my new deck! BRJ Builders designed and constructed a magnificent deck for me. They performed all work in a most professional, craftsmanlike and timely manner. I especially liked the wider more balanced steps they constructed. Their knowledge and cooperation were outstanding ands pecial requests were no problem. I am so pleased I plan to have them install a new kitchen for me because I know it will be exactly what I want and their neat work will be accomplished on time and within budget.

We hired BRJ Builders to finish our wooden carport by adding barn doors. They did a great job. We are very pleased with the construction and appearance. Was completed in a couple of days. The cost was reasonable. I definitely would hire them again when we have another project.

We hired BRJ Builders to replace a two level deck. The owner Ben was professional, very knowledgeable and attentive throughout the process. His communication and response time was excellent. When the lead carpenter (Josh) and the crew arrived(Bryn,Chris, and Neil) to replace the deck, they were courteous, organized and extremely neat. BRJ Builders is a company that we would call in the future for any remodeling project. We are very pleased with our new deck and we would highly recommend BRJ Builders.

Ben and his crew renovated an entire house for me. They converted a single family home to a 2 family home. Parts of the project involved converting an old garage into a kitchen and living room, creating an almost entirely new luxury bathroom, building a very large, high quality shed, new siding, and constructing a fence. Ben is a master builder, and he has a great crew. The project included some fine woodwork and custom stairs and trim. He and his grew were also able to select and finish the fine woodwork, and paint everything really well. Ben was very energetic in demanding better doors for my project when the supplier delivered sub par doors to us. Ben got them all replaced for me. He was very easy to work with, and comfortable with out of the box creative solutions while still working within the building code. I could always depend on Ben to show up when he said he would, and he is a very hard worker. If youre looking for an honest, capable, and hard working contractor to make your project a reality, then you should call Ben.

These folks shwoed up (the only one of six others I called) and did the work in just a few days. It was an excellent job and I am really pleased with the results. I would highly recommend them.

We hired Ben and his crew to install a slider door at the back of our kitchen and build a deck off of it. We are so thrilled with the final product! The attention to detail of all the finish work both inside and out came together beautifully, and the deck is stunning with the composite railings. Ben and members of his crew were excellent to work with. Ben gave us different options that would work with our budget and he presented us with highly rated, high quality products. The guys on his crew were always courteous, respected our home, and cleaned up after themselves every day. They worked so efficiently and built us a beautiful deck and installed a slider door in our kitchen that helps create an outdoor space that we love! His team also completed their work ahead of schedule and completely within budget, even with additional requests made by us. I have known Ben for quite a few years now. He painted my house, built a deck off my bedroom, and built a dock and seawall at my riverside home. All were done beautifully, with integrity and attention to detail. So when I bought an old historic home in the center of Hadley, it was, of course, Ben that I went to for help with the renovations. It has been a year-long process. The house was built in 1776, the same year our country became a nation, and I wanted to preserve as much of the original details as possible. The house had survived many economic cycles in its long life, and it needed a great deal of work. Ben was sensitive to my desire to restore as much of it as possible while staying within reasonable bounds of practicality. He helped me to choose what was worth investing in to preserve, and what was just too far gone to be worth the cost. I am happy with the final balance of old and new. Bens attention to details in the finished work made it very beautiful, and I am proud of the end result. But the vast majority of the work he did, is not even visible to the casual observer. We had to rebuild the foundation, replace ALL the systems, take down three chimneys, insulate everywhere. We had to remove 11 coats of paint from the beautiful stairwell to bring it back to how it looked when first built by the colonial woodworkers. We removed three floors to get down to the original, jacked them to level them where they had settled. Ben replaced original joists that were actual round pine trees! He built decks for alternate egresses and restored a big beautiful old door. The Building Inspector was so impressed by Bens work and his judgment that he stopped coming to check on it and essentially gave him carte blanche. I am grateful for Bens expertise no doubt, but also for his aesthetic sense. I am particular about aesthetic details, and turns out that so is he! I am grateful for the care and sensitivity and expertise that he brought to the project. His positive energy is palpable, in every inch of the house. Sincerely, Valerie H.

The BRJ Builders crew was totally efficient and very professional with my exterior repair in early spring 2020. They arrived promptly and left the space better than they found it. The communication and pricing were both excellent. Other small items were pointed out to me that would, later on down the line, be a problem -- and those were handled as well. Staging was set up at my house to do the job right where other contractors would have inefficiently worked off ladders. Ben John is a courteous, experienced, and warm businessperson to whom I, as a 24-year full-time Realtor, feel very comfortable referring clients. There is nothing he has not seen or done and when jobs get tricky or complicated, he will get to the root of the issue and make it right so you never have to face it again. In short, you would be fortunate to get BRJ Builders to come to your property to do any kind of exterior or interior work -- large or small.
