Summary: In the end, the work was done, but it was very painful dealing with them. I also think we over-paid for this kind of service. We had used Trinity back to 2001, but hadn't used them in the last few years (except for routine blow-outs). They seem to have gone down hill a lot. Earlier, they were very easy to work with, and well priced. It seems very different now. There are way too many details to get into, and I don't want to relive it, but I do want to give people feedback, so here's the highlights. What started it all -- our first call was to repair some heads and identify if the trunk line ran under the patio. Instead, they quoted up a "yard optimization plan" which was mostly about the front yard (patio is in back) and did not correctly identify where the trunk line ran. Then they handed me a $330 bill for basically the gift of creating an up-sell plan I didn't ask for. When I told the person this isn't what I wanted they got angry at me and said the visit was a "waste of time." Because they were already familiar with our layout, we got back to business and they moved and replaced some heads in a 2nd visit (another charge). When we started with the patio, the trunk line was indeed under the patio, not where they said it was. So, they charged for an "emergency visit" to move the trunk line which was struck by the patio diggers (this actually took 2 visits, since in the first visit, they didn't have the right materials). In the end, 30' of trunk line was moved 10' further away, 5 heads were replaced, and 3 moved, and some old unused line cut and removed (they billed $85 to cut and cap this line while they were onsite for other items!). They agreed to adjust the price to $1700+ from just under $2200 because I didn't feel we should pay for the "emergency call" charge of $150 (when it was their miss on the trunk line that cause the emergency) or the first $330 "yard optimization" quote which we never asked for. It took a month of me chasing them to finalize the final payment. They kept saying "I'll call you in a few days" and never would. I had to pursue them, but I didn't want this obligation outstanding. Kim seems to be the owner/decision maker. David is a good tech. I would ask for David by name, though we will never use them again. edit -- I guess the feeling is mutual! They called us up to tell us they will no longer service us, which is OK by me.

Last season we received an estimate for a garden sprinkler system for a historic brownstone in Boston. When we tried to schedule the work last season they were unresponsive and eventually it became too late in the season as we planted our garden. We had pumbing work done in preparation for their estimate and they said they could do it in the fall or spring. When I recently contacted them they said they no longer serviced the area where I live: Boston. Because of not getting the system done in time last year we spent $600 paying the gardener to water the garden, in a addition to $1000 I spent for plumbing to prep the job. I am out $1600 and now still have to find a contractor. It is astounding to me how quickly these people forget how their business was just a few years ago, and now treat existing customers as if they are not worth their time. I never right reviews, but the attitude was astounding, and would warn potential customers that if you want a reliable contractor.... look elsewhere. Purged and turned off lawn irrigation system. All went well. They installed the irrigation system some six years ago, and since have closed the system in the fall and opened it the spring. Their service has always been top notch.
