I'm currently using Verizon. I don't have a choice, I can't get another provider because I have to have a cable line. For one thing they don't have Fios in my area. They set it up where it is very difficult to manage your account. For example you know how you have that long line of serial numbers well you have to call in and it is a long procedure.

They are ok. I had a couple of screw-ups. We had a lightning hit and the things got fried. It's fast. They have a warehouse down street where they keep all the servers that run the fiber optics. Their store is in Walden. If the box is fried I take it to Walden or I have them get me a new one. I have to wait for the service guy. The price of these guys is ridiculous. They give me $99 a month for the first year. Then I have to say I am going to quit them so then they will give me the deal again. When I call sometimes I talk to somebody in this country and sometimes I am talking to Bangalore, India. Their price is outrageous. They never had to come here except when they installed.

We have 2 cellphones and then we have the bundle of the home services. The cellphone reception is good. The internet is fast. We never had any problems with it. We have a good selection of TV channels to choose from. We went with them because they were running a pretty good promotion at the time. I think the prices were just comparable or slightly better than other companies. We had Verizon and Comcast from the past and we didn't really notice any huge difference to the service. We are happy with the services. But my wife currently has a dispute with them regarding a plan for text messages which she hadn't been going over and hadn't been getting charge. She got a call a couple of weeks ago and they want to upgrade her to another plan. Ever since then, she's been getting over the plan and they just charge it to her.

We are very happy with them. They do our falls and they do everything. I am very disappointed that they don't have it in the area where we have a house in Florida and everything seems to be Comcast in that area of Florida. The cable gives you all kinds of things that other cables don't cover, the picture are extremely clear. They are very good in helping me over the phone or either coming to the house. The biggest thing is the amount of channels we get on the clarity of picture. The HD is fantastic. We also had Direct TV before where if there was a drop of rain or wind then we lost the cable which Verizon never. The price is fair and not more or less than other companies. The quality is very good.

The installation itself wasn't too bad with the exception of the lack of Disclosure and Any Explanation of the set up of the email accounts. This was done on Friday, June 22, 2012. Saturday my husband signed into his email account only to find he could not use it . it was Frozen. He couldn't receive any emails, he could send some, but the usual copy that is saved in ones 'sent file' could not be done and a message to that effect was show. Aparently after the primary account of the person who's name is on the account the 'sub-account's' have literally a quarter of the memory that the primary does. I have spent Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today Tuesday on the phone, waiting forever and then talking to people who say nothing can be done. The idea that they make him primary or let him use all the other memory of the other 'sub-accounts' won't work with them and Verizon will do NOTHING. Oh by the way, I am not using Verizon email so my husband is the only email account. To add insult to injury, when we tried to export his Contacts to a different email address it could not be done. Verizon will allow you to import YOUR contacts, but they will not allow to EXPORT. DO NOT go near Verizon. They are have No Customer Service, they are not honest and give No disclosure of how things work and once you're over to them they truly don't give a S--t about you!!!

The installation gets little gritty because you argue over price. Once in a while you get a bill with added stuff that is just bananas. You call, you fight and threaten to leave. I think I go through my annual fight over the price where I call and tell them and quot;Listen I am comparing the last bill to this one and I am not dealing with new pricing. With all your new customers you offer all these deals but you offer nothing to the customers who have been with you for five years.and quot; Its unacceptable. I go through the same shenanigans every year and they are happy to make concessions then we are back to it in a year. I think it is usual though. I think that's just the way these companies are. I am getting what I want. I get the channels that I want and not some crazy outages. Our DVR works great and my husband gets his soccer, which he loves. We are happy. I will continue to use them unless I reach a stage where they are no longer willing to work with me and what I need.

I've used them on and off, depending on where I've lived. This period has been about 18 months. Their telephone service is lousy. The automated system is very convoluted and very difficult to use. The cable service is good. I will continue to use them.

1 month after installation was complete, my phone stopped working.... I called a verizon rep, who told me I had canceled my phone service. When I expressed to her that I did not, she told me she would reopen the account... After 1 month and many hours spent on the phone with different reps at verizon. I finally got my home phone to be operational. A manager gave me a $100 refund for the loss.... I had almost $500 charged to my cell phone that month, 90% of which was directly involved with talking to verizon. After a few months my wife told me the bills seemed awfully high averaging $250- $300.... I called verizon to question the amount. The rep told me the bills made sense.... ( all she did was talk really fast without making an ounce of sense ) ...... I assumed the $109 advertised rate was just a teaser rate...Since my wife and I didn't want to be charged accessive penalties for breaking the 2 year commitment, we decided to stick with it until the contract ended..... BIG MISTAKE! When our 2 year commitment was up, we finally cancelled our account.. Verizon sent me letters saying I owed them $600.... Then $800.... They reported me to a collection agency, Which said I owed $967. After disputing the bill, and MANY countless hours on the phone with different people at verizon, I finally had a rep look through the history of my account. She explained to me that I NEVER was getting the bundle package. That I was being charged on an individual basis... After a few weeks I recieved a call from verizon saying they were fixing the charges from the collection agency... That they would pay $700 directly to the agency, then send me a check for the remaining $267. That I was to then take that check and pay off the remaining balance...The check of course never came. I paid the collection agency my remaining balance owed so as not to ruin my credit rating. I called verizon again, they told me my claim was denied! after several hours explaining the situation, they said they would send the $267 check in 7-10 business days.... NEVER came! I called again same story ( denied ).... After many hours on the phone they said the check would be sent to me, and that they would call me to verify payment had been sent.... NEITHER happened! I have been waiting for payment since Christmas of 2010... I won't give up. Believe it or not I have refrained from sharing alot of pain that verizon has dealt to me, and my wife. We now have Xfinity and are as happy as can be. The bills are understandable, and the service has been exceptional.
Description of Work: I ordered the bundle package ( internet, phone, t.v.) that was advertised for $109 a month.... The verizon technician spent 8 hours installing all the services... The next day verizon called me and said it was installed improperly and had to be reinstalled.. Which took an additional 8 hours of labor.

Description of Work: I have been using verizon for a few years. I have the FIOS triple play - which includes phone, internet & TV. They quality of the products are very good but the customer service is AWFUL. I called on 11/24/2010 to attempt to reduce my bill, which at the time was a litle more then $190 per month. I was quoted $136.96 a month for the triple package without HBO or cinemax or $161 a month with HBO/Cinemax. This is if I were to signup for a 2 year package. I thought it sounded ok, so I agreed. A few minutes later I received an email how my bill would be close to $190 a month. I called Verizon right back They said they don't have access to look at any discount I was given in my new two year contract. I received my bill on 12/17/2010 and it was for $192.62. I called Verizon back and explained this to them. They checked with the person who put together this deal for me and said that he was calling me to discuss this. He never did. The next day I called Verizon back and spoke to a manager.They said my bill would be $179.97 with the 2 year contract. I asked to switch back to what I had before because previously I was getting Starz/Encore. I was told that I could not switch back to the package I had before. In summary: I was quoted $136.96 to get faster internet (35/35) & not have hbo/cinemax any more. I ended up getting billed $192.62. This was with losing HBO/Cinemax/Starz/Encore. So, I lost many with my new 2 year contract and my bill increased. I also wasted a lot of time on my time. I got out of my 2 year contract, since 30 days hadn't passed since I was misquoted the $136.96 price. I am now being charged > $190 a month without HBO/Cinemax and slower internet speed. It is time to start shopping for a new service provider. I am done with Verizon, as much as I like FIOS. It isn't worth the hassle.

The FIOS system is incredible! It's much better than Comcast and the channel selection is huge. We have three standard TVs (not HD), one with a multi room DVR and two set top boxes (not HD) on the other two sets. You can watch the saved programs in any room. The pictures are awesome even with old style TVs. The installer came in a snowstorm and worked for about five hours nonstop to install the outdoor cable, the interface box and the TV boxes. The internet speed is now 25 MBS down, 12 MBS up using free wireless router. Comcast was less than half that. Telephone quality is same or better than old land line. Documentation and service is great.

Soon after the FIOS fiber-optic line was installed in the street, a team of salespeople came around to pitch the service. They were young, but polite and generally knowledgeable about what was and wasn't included in the service contract. At installation time, the installer was very sharp and well informed about the technology. He had us up and running in a few hours after installing a couple of new boxes in the basement. The only thing we've had trouble with is the DVR, which has been flaky. The internet service is super-fast (10 times DSL speeds) and has been unavailable only a couple of times over the past eight months.

I can't believe how good the TV picture is compared to another company. Even the standard channels look far better than the other companies channels. The HD channels are fantastic (I am watching game 3 of the World Series right now). Getting on the schedule for installation was easy, and it took 2 weeks for the technician to come out. The installation took several hours but went well. The installer was friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us how to use the HD DVR. The only problem I had thus far was the DVR not recording. But all I had to do was to reset the DVR by unplugging it. Tech support is available 24/7 and only a few mins of wait time. Support techs, however, are not as knowledgeable and had to spend time researching the answers (I had to wait for a couple days to get an answer). Overall, very, very happy with the TV service (outstanding picture, hundreds of channels, including dozens of HD channels). The only thing I wish to have is a DVR with larger hard drive for HD.
