John O'Connor, the owner of the company, came out to review the work that was needed and give me an estimate. He pointed out additional brick and mortar areas that needed work that we had not previously identified, and we discussed water run-off and drainage around the house (there is concrete on three sides - city living...). Work was started the week after I agreed to the estimate. He arrived with two trucks and a crew of two on the date agreed. They dug a 'trench' several inches wide and deep along the entire length of one side of my house and filled that with concrete to replace existing cracking concrete. They dug out cracked mortar around bricks and re-filled with new mortar. There were not many bricks to replace but we did discuss which ones needed it. A large horizontal section of the area being worked on will be re-covered with house trim, so brick replacement was not crucial, just good concrete repair. They do require a hose and electric hook-up. They cleaned up after themselves and removed all debris. The process is messy and there was dust to hose off and the yard to rake once they were done. We did need to put down some grass seed, but not a big deal. They worked half of one day and returned early the next to complete the job. Due to its visibility, there is one brick that was repaired with mortar that I wish I had requested to be replaced instead. The brick work on the house is very haphazard anyway due to its age and periodic repairs over the past 100 years, so perfection was not the goal. The work done was very nice. The mortar application is neat and clean and even and not at all sloppy. John is very nice and professional and very responsive. I would definitely recommend John to others and use him again.
Description of Work: Repaired loose, missing and severely cracked mortar around the foundation of my house. Repaired crumbling bricks as well.

These guys were extremely professional. I called for an estimate and they showed up the next day. They were able to schedule my job within a week of my request. I feel that their prices were in line with other masons to whom I spoke, and they seemed extremely competent and knowledgeable with the issues that I wanted to address. They worked straight through on my job, even showing up on Saturday to complete work that they didn't quite finish on a Friday evening. They were also conscientious about dust and noise, and did a good job with clean up. The job cost exactly what they said it would from their estimate.

HE WAS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS AND HAD GOOD REFERENCES, BUT THE FINAL PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE AND HAS TO BE REDONE. IT LOOKS AS THOUGH SOMEONE DRIPPED WHITE PAINT DOWN OUR STAIRS, AND THE CONCRETE WORK ITSELF IS SHODDY.
