Millstone Landscape

Millstone did leaf removal and disposal for us, the day before our first open house. It was a small job, and I was having a hard time getting anyone to show up to take care of it. I'm sure Mark had many other things he could've been doing, but he understood our urgency, promised he would take care of it, and he did.

Mark is excellent. He does what's needed, doesn't overcharge and is efficient. He is courteous. I would recommend him to the whole town. We had one of his competitors for a year and I can honestly say switching to Mark at Millstone was the best house/condo maintenance decision we made.

Mark and his crew showed up that Thursday am after the week of constant rain. They got right to work and in a very organized manner they had finshed the job to my satisfaction. Being a small job, I appreciated the fact that they treated me with the professionalism that they treat the big jobs that they do. I plan on using them for any future landscaping needs. You should see how nice my yard looks now.

I emailed Mark based on a recommendation from a mailing list I am on. The owner, Mark, called me back the next day (it was off-season) and then came to see my properly the same day to give me a quote. I'd already had other landscapers not even return my phone calls or even provide me with a quote, so this already impressed me. After I hired him to do the work, he let me know approximately when his team would arrive and they came as they said they would, and took away all yard waste with them. Later, I emailed him to ask them to trim back some of the bushes a little bit more, and even though he was worried this would not be aesthetically pleasing, he came by promptly and did what I asked anyway, which I appreciated.

The job was perfectly executed. The front of the house had a big mass of overgrown yews that we wanted to replace to give a more airy feel and more variety in colors by planting flowering shrubs. Mark came to discuss the kind of plants we were interested in, giving us numerous advice as to which plants would be best in the location and how to arrange them to best advantage. He also proposed to bury the drain pipes for a better look. His original estimate was in the middle range of the other 3 estimates we got for the job. He came to do the work, on schedule. He arranged the potted plants at their approximate locations and he had a great deal of patience as we were moving those around (to the inch!) to ensure we were fully satisfied with the effect. In addition, and on his own initiative, his final bill came over $300 less than originally submitted since the plants cost him less than what he originally planned.
