I had some jewelry that I no longer wanted to keep. Tony was extremely helpful. He appraised the pieces, gave the me the amount that I might expect if i sold them privately, and also the amount I could expect if I sold them to a jeweler. I found Tony to be very professional and very fair and honest in our dealings. He was definitely up front the whole time. I recommend him highly and would go to him again in the future if the need arose.

Our experience with Tony was great. Notably, he took the time necessary to view all the items and gave each a proper examination. He clearly loves his work and working with his customers - he's very personable and thoughtful about the customers' concerns. He gave us plastic bags for items - we could write the value range and the important characteristics (e.g. 14k gold, diamonds, etc.) on the bags. He scheduled our visit so that he could give all his attention to our task. He was very clear about what he could do and what might require some other expert or further examination. We highly recommend him for jewelry assessments.

Tony was so nice. He was thorough and so quick. He offered to complete my work before his vacation. He was also alert in noting that I check with my insurance company to see if a new appraisal would be necessary as I was 'changing' the item. I have some family pieces that are purely sentimental which he has been great providing ideas so they can 'see' light again. I will be back to have that work done.

Tony should be the jewelry designer to the stars! he has such a good eye and will give you his honest opinion. What's most refreshing is he does not purchase you to buy... if you don't like it, he won't sell it to you. Plus he is so wonderful and so nice.. the whole time I'm thinking "I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop" (e.g. for him to rip me off or pull a fast one..) however never! He was so responsive,, would phone me when the ring I ordered was in and oh.. have I mentioned how reasonable his prices are? not cheap mind you- but reasonable.He truly lives and breathes Angie's List principles- that being quality customer services. Plus he's an incredibly nice person. Tony- I will be back to give you more business- plus the compliments are flying in regarding the ring. Congratulations on a great job!

Although benchcraft prices were considerably higher than those charged by jewelers who send jewelry out for repairs. It is a big advantage to be able to talk directly with the person who is actually doing the work. The work receipt had a detailed and complete description of the jewelry and the work to be be performed. In our case a wedding band and an engagement ring were worked on. The work was done ahead of schedule and was exactly as requested. I even got $10 off for being an Angie customer

Originally, based on positive reviews I had seen on Angie's List, I called Tony to see if he could give me an informal estimate of how much I could expect to get if I sold the ring. He was very pleasant on the phone and told me I could drop in anytime he was open and he'd take a look at it. When I arrived, he took a careful ring and then discussed the various options I had (trying to sell it,resetting, or rhodium dipping). I was impressed with not only his knowledge, but also his warmth and genuine interest in finding the right solution for me. I finallly decided to go with the rhodium option and I'm very happy with the results. Tony made the ring look beautiful and he completed it right on schedule. I can't comment on the price because I never got an estimate from any other jeweler.

Tony was receptive and professional right from the first phone call, every experience with him following that was great. Tony was very helpful in explaining the pros and cons of ring settings, helpful in showing us the differences in our two diamonds, just all around an excellent salesman/owner who really knows how to please his customers. He also got the engagement ring to us in a very short time right around the holidays when he was already slammed so we especially appreciated that. I have a number of pieces that I need to repair and plan to bring all of them to him in the future at some point and my guess is that I'll be writing another excellent review. I would recommend Tony to anyone looking for a jeweler.

I am a big fan of Tony at Benchcraft. My husband and I got our wedding bands from him. My engagement ring is a custom hand-made item from Etsy and Tony did some legwork to find me a curved band that would fit it perfectly so that I didn't have to pay extra to have one custom-made, like I thought I would have to. I'm not absolutely sure on how much it cost us, total, but $900 seems around what it was. We both ended up getting white gold bands, mine with diamonds. One of the coolest things about the experience is that so many people who came in there while we were there were repeat customers. A young man who got his wife's engagement ring and wedding bands there was coming in to buy her a birthday present. Another lady came in to get her watch fixed. It was obvious that he is well respected in the community. Everything (including sizing) was spot-on and on-time. I would absolutely recommend Benchcraft to anyone looking for a present or wedding bands.

Tony was amazing, very reasonably priced, honest and has an excellent eye when designing his jewelry. We didn't think one of the bracelets because of its design could be re-sized but over time Tony performed magic and re-sized the bracelet not once but twice. It was like a new bracelet and I wear it every day. Some of the other jewelry was scratched and needed re-polishing, again Tony performed his magic and now the jewelry he polished is like new again. Tony was very informative and was very reasonably priced. We have been back to see him for battery replacements, and have purchased some of his pieces. All of his jewelry is reasonably priced and quite beautiful. I would offer my highest recommendations; Tony is our go to person for any jewelry issues.

The first thing the jeweler suggested was that if I brought the ring back to where I purchased it, I might be able to get the resizing done for free. I thought that was very nice of him to tell me, but since we purchased it far away, I asked him to take the job anyway. He said he would try hard to get it done by the next day because the weekend was approaching and he thought I would want to have it back quickly (which I did). In fact, just a few hours later he called to let me know it was finished, so I got it back the same day! The price was exactly as quoted and the ring was sized exactly right. Very glad I drove out of my way to go here and will definitely return when I need to repair any piece of jewelry that is important to me.

This is a case in which Angie's List led me to the perfect person. My husband needed a new watch battery, and the last person I went to charged a fortune and wasn't very nice, so I decided to check things out here. Benchcraft, with its many positive reviews, was the first jeweler to come up on the list, and a large number of people had written great reviews about repairs and resetting of stones. Well, I have a pair of gold earrings from my grandmother which were changed from pierced to screw-back earrings at one point, so I've never worn them. I thought, well, maybe I should bring them in with the watch. I went to Benchcraft yesterday. Tony, the proprietor, explained all my options, and I decided on a mid-priced solution, which required some more gold and some work. Today I came back to pick up my husband's watch, and Tony had already finished my earrings. They look beautiful!!! Had I not read the reviews here, they would still be sitting in the drawer they'd been in for over twenty years instead of adorning my ears. Thank you, Tony! You will continue to see me from time to time.

great experience from start to finish

The ring and necklace were fixed in a timely manner, on premise. I was very happy with everything. I even got a little credit for the gold of the broken clasp. I felt comfortable leaving my jewelry with Tony. He makes his own jewelry too...next time I will have to take a look to see what he has! I will definitely go back in the future if I need any jewelry repaired.

I like him very much. I liked him the first time and I like this time. He seems very fair and very honest.

I needed to get a new coat of rhodium on my engagement ring, and hoped to have it done in time for my wedding, which is only 5 days away. Previous jewelers had told me the job would take 4-5 days, and I was worried I couldn't get it done in time. Benchcraft did the job in an afternoon! I was so pleased and will certainly be coming back in the future.

Tony was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. His advice was excellent and his price reasonable. Plan to return with my daughter and her fiancee so they can select their wedding rings.

I found Tony on Angie's list with the highest recommendations and was delighted to learn his shop was close to me. I felt my ring was being cared for my a craftsman who analyzed the problem, made excellent suggestions to prevent further damage, and quickly, and for a reasonable price, returned my ring in excellent condition.

I inherited some jewelry from a relative who passed away and wasn't sure if it was worth anything. Tony spent quite a bit of time with me going through every piece to confirm its worth and then bought the pieces he could use for a fair price. He even suggested a place to take some items about which he had limited knowledge.

After weight loss, and perhaps from wear over many years, my gold wedding band was falling off my finger. Tony Minassian of Benchcraft Jewellers resized it so it now fits perfectly. It seems magical, since I can't see any seam, and he even preserved an engraved message on the inside of the band. He completed the work within a few days, even sooner than he had promised.

From the start Tony was extremely patient with us, never pressuring toward one solution or another, just offering different options over the course of 2 lengthy visits and consultations with him. He showed us how the old ring was too damaged to be repaired to hold a diamond safely. He ordered some mounts to show how the diamond could be reset. In the end, without any pressure from him, we decided to mount the diamond into a pendant that Tony designed for us and we bought the estate engagement ring I had wanted copied in the first place. This solution happened to be the most cost effective in the end. During all our discussions, Tony was always courteous and when other customers were coming in, he would excuse himself to take care of them while leaving us to think things through. He never rushed anyone and always listened. A great experience.

Tony was very helpful on the phone and in person. He gave me an estimate, suggested a store I might go to to sell the jewelry, and suggested price differences if I were to sell to an individual rather than a business. I was very grateful for his time and expertise and asked him if he wanted me to submit a report on Angie's List (who had provided his name). Tony isn't really interested in offering this kind of service so didn't want me to be misleading. So I am submitting a report to say that if I were to buy jewelry or needed repairs I wouldn't hesistate to give him my business. Tony's going out of his way to help is unusual in businesses and should be rewarded.

Tony was great! He was very honest with me about the fact that it might not be possible to get the stone cut the way I wanted because they just don't cut sapphires that way any more. He offered the possibility of replacing the lost stone with either a natural or artificial sapphire and clearly described the pros and cons of each option. He also agreed to try and find a sapphire cut as I wanted it. In the end I had to go with a square cut sapphire but the color match with the other one is perfect. Tony did a great job in finding the stone and he even re-seated the stones in the ring so they would be less likely to fall out again. I would definitely go back for any other jewelry repairs or purchases.

I am so happy with Tony's work! One bracelet already had ten charms on it. I wanted five new charms added in a very particular order. Tony did it perfectly. His work was meticulous and the result perfect. He even finished the two two days earlier than expected. And all that great work came in at half the price that other jewelers had quoted. I am thrilled with the result and look forward to trusting Tony with all my future jewelery repair.
