I had him fix a wood fence in the backyard a couple of years ago. I mentioned at the time that one section seemed to get water or something that caused it to lean more than the other sections. A year later, that section indeed had started to lean again. He came back and handled the issue via warranty. Great service!

We originally received an estimate and commissioned Ilhan in summer 2011. Due to his schedule and our pending yardwork, the job was put off until the fall, and then lapsed over the winter. Upon contacting him in the spring, he came out, met with us multiple times, took measurements, and we gave him a deposit for the job. A few weeks later he brought a sample section of the custom fence for review. All seemed well and on track, and it was my assumption that the actual fence was under construction off-site. A week later Ilhan came by, returned our deposit and said he didn't feel that he was a "good match" for our job. So in the end he held us up for 6 months and then walked off the job. I don't know how anyone who conducts business this way manages to stay in business.

Left a message requesting an appointment for an estimate and got a swift return call explaining that they don't travel to our area. I suggest that the service area be corrected.

Belmont Fence Crafters performed work professionally, and proficiently ! It took longer than they thought, but their bill was essentially the same, as their written proposal.

Ilhan came out to my home and viewed the property. We discussed fence options. Ilhan informed me that there were to many variables to give an estimate including: The land had not been surveyed, there was visible shelf rock which may run under the area where the fence posts would go and a sharp grade along the line where another part of the fence would go. Ilhan asked that I get the land surveyed and then call him back. I did this and upon calling me, he sounded hesitant about the job. He stated that my location (in Milton) was a bit far for him and he could not see the ability to offer a competitive quote due to the distance. He recommended that I identify someone closer.

I would recommend them because they were professional. They ended up coming in under the quote because they were able to get it done in a day instead of two. The price was a little high but I think it was fair. They were nice guys and the fence looks beautiful. I live in an area where the ground isn’t very stable but the fence hasn’t moved at all since they put it in six months ago. They came out one or two days after I made the call and they worked through the day even though it started to rain.

Ilhan has the craftsmanship and pride of work that are increasingly rare these days. I highly recommend him . He took on the job of repairing our 6' high fence (approximately 380 linear feet) even though it was a challenging job. Major sections had not been installed properly, and the best hope was to get 10 more years before facing the costly prospect of total replacement. He alerted us in advance that repairs would be expensive and also advised us on which were worth doing, given the condition of the fence. He did the work outlined in his bid and talked with us when the scope of work threatened to creep up so we could decide jointly what additional work would be done. He worked hard, hard, hard six days a week during the heat of summer and finished well in advance of the target date when the painters would start. We really appreciated his advice, results, and overall demeanor. Although it is a bit frustrating that he does not use email and is generally unavailable by phone during the work day, that is a small price to pay for the quality of work. We would call him again in a heartbeat.

Although the job required more extensive work than anticipated, every aspect of the repair was done with professionalism and care. The estimate was timely, as was the follow up once we contracted for the repair. When it was clear that more work would be needed, Belmont Fence was up front about the additiona time and cost, and also did what was possible to reduce costs. The work was completed swiftly, and additional issues raised were addressed immediately after. They also took care to tidy up the area in ways that went "above and beyond" the expectations for the work. Finally, Ilkhan had some innovative ideas about how to repair the remainder of the fence in the future should we need that; I appreciated his thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

Not well at all. Ilhan seemed not to be able to comprehend simple things, such as wanting to fence both front AND back yards. It wasn't a problem of understanding English, it was something else. My wife walks him around the yard mentioning that we wanted one kind of fence in the back, and another in the front. He started telling wife that it was going to be really expensive, that he didn't want to deal with ledge (which we have on one side of the back yard, but weren't asking for fence to be installed into it), and finally that he didn't need the work or the hassle. So at that point, she just told him we were done. All over in less than 10 minutes, but so disorienting for her, that we spent 20 minutes talking about it that evening when I got home! Perhaps I should have 'expected the unexpected' with this guy: he's very personable on the phone, and I was actually looking forward to hearing his ideas (he's highly rated here, that's why I called). The thing is, he won't book more than a day in advance: he'll call you late in the day, to see if he can come the following day. We tried once or twice, but I couldn't make it work. Then out of the blue he calls ME, asking if the next day would work. As it happened, it did, and I was pleased. But then you know how that day turned out. If he didn't "need the work", then why did he call? And why isn't he organized enough to book a few days in advance? Too bad.

Good work: came promptly, gave an estimated and stuck to it, good work. Price perhaps on the high side, but good work was worth it.

Ilhan returned our call quickly, came and gave us a thorough written estimate. We didn't opt for staining (our condo assoc. does that), but we like that he was thorough enough to offer it and give us the price for that as well. He and a partner came when they said they would and worked steadfastly until it was done. They had to climb ladders to our neighbor repeatedly and didn't complain. They left reinforcements and did a very professional job. Our condo was slow to pay, and when Ilhan called to follow up, he was very polite. We wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

We are very satisfied overall. The two men crew are experienced carpenters. They are interested in "restoring" the broken fence with their "craft", and charge less than most fence installers - who would simply replace all partly damaged fence panels by installing expensive new panels and posts from the suppliers. Perhaps for the same reason, due to their obviously very busy schedule, there was a slight delay of several weeks before the work was completed.

They were busy and took a while to start the job but I wwas in no hurry. The professionalism they showed is the best I have seen. Extremely competent and hard working.

I liked the gentleman quite a lot. He was very friendly and very honest. He was very straightforward and knew what he was talking about. He answered all my questions.

They were extremely responsive and professional. They came out and looked at the fence and discussed options for repair/replacement. The gentleman told my husband in advance that the repair would be costly since there was so much fencing but suggested that my husband could make the repairs himself and gave him advice on how to do so. He mailed the estimate a few days later and it came to approximately $2000. More than we wanted to spend at this point so my husband will probably make the repairs himself.

Work seems to be great. I'll know for sure in a couple of years .

Ilhan is a meticulous worker who was particularly careful to set the fence posts on crushed stones of different sizes which he pounded vigorously into the post holes before installing them. As a result, the fence is solid and straight. He arrived on time, is neat, and worked overtime to complete the job on schedule. He was careful to avoid trampling my perennial plants during the installation. He is a fine craftsman who takes pride in his work.

Ilhan was very professional, returned all our phone calls and did the job that we agreed on (even fixed a couple of minor issues we did not realize we had). We'd definitely use his services in the future and would certainly recommend him.

Great experience. Ilhan called me back the same day, and came out the next morning to give me an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He said he'd call me back in a few days once he determined if he could get the needed post and to give me an estimate. He did call back and then said he would get to the job as soon as possible, and that it would probably be a week or so. It ended up being about a week and a half later that he came and did the job. Great work and we're very happy with the results. He thinks this work will probably give our fence about five more years before needing to be replaced.

One section of our fence is broken. I called Belmont Fence crafters, Ilhan called back within a couple of hour. He arrived on time for estimate. He is knowledgable and confident about the fence work. He is very honest about what needs to be done and what is not. It took about 12 days to receive his very detailed estimates. Once we decided, he came to do the repair within two or three days. He did a great job. Replace the broken woods and even primed the new parts.

I originally called Belmont Fence Crafters for an estimate to remove and replace my existing fence. He spent a lot of time with me talking about the options for removing and replacing my fence. In the end, he advised that I not replace the fence as the underlying cement structure seemed unstable and could negatively impact the longevity of any new fence. I really appreciated his honesty. The work to remove the fence was done quickly and it looks better than ever.

I was very impressed by Ilhan Hakioglu's professionalism and throughness. Unlike other fencing contractors, who just glanced at my situation or took cursory measurements, he brought measuring equipment and spent considerable time assessing the feasibility of installing a different type of gate in my backyard fence that would allow the yard to be used for parking. He explained each fencing alternative and how it would work in detail. He was also honest about the pitfalls that would be encountered, given the site's limitations. Even though Ilhan and I concluded that none of the possible options would be right for my needs, Ilhan took the trouble to call me a few days later and say that he'd made contact with another company that might be able to address the situation. This level of thoughtfulness in a contractor, especially one presented with what would have been a small job, is so rare these days as to be almost nonexistent. I wish I had a project that Belmont Fence Crafters could take on, as my feeling is they would do outstanding work.

The Belmont Fence Crofters workman was skilled, efficient, and delivered on this promises. We were pleased with all aspects of our experience with the company, from the initial visit to the completion of the work.

He is such a great guy, the work was done quickly and efficiently. The estimate and the actual charge was accurate. They are very good. He has been in town for years and has done all kinds of work in terms of fences and gates. Wood, metal, chainlink... you name it. He can show you any kind you want, he is very knowledgeable, he's good with kids and dogs. I really like him.
