Harris and Company Landscaping

We received an initial quote from Harris & Co. based on a recommendation from a coworker to replace a backyard deck with a stone patio. I received three quotes from various contractors. Harris's quote was the most expensive but I went with Joshua Harris's company anyway for the following reasons: * Joshua had a complete treatment that included landscaping (which ultimately I did not do), pavers, lowering of the ground, demolition, fire pit, and seating wall. * They were responsive, using text and email and replying promptly. * Joshua Harris had a better vision for the project than I did! He envisioned a wall, lighting, making the patio extremely large (due to the limited space in the backyard, he thought that leaving a bit of grass would be pretty pointless). Ultimately, it was the completeness of the vision that drew me to use his service. Since he does landscaping, lighting, and tons of stuff, Joshua will give you a pretty complete treatment. This costs you. I think that you get what you pay for, but it's something to keep in mind. If you have a budget, keep your discipline and see what aspects that you can go without! That all said, we went all out for this project and added a long wall, accent pavers, a large fire pit, and lighting. This was an extremely expensive project for us, but it's been worth it as the end result is rather beautiful and makes the space much more usable. Before, we wouldn't even leave out the back door because the deck was so small and the yard was so dreary, but the large 28' stone patio makes the space inviting and easy to walk across, even when we're not entertaining. As for the work, I was impressed by the amount of communication that was provided. They contacted me almost every day to let me know if they were going to arrive to work and informed me if circumstances (usually rain, sometimes illness) affected the schedule. Joshua was overall very professional. There were occasionally circumstances though that affected what could be done at any point - for example a certain model of lamp I requested wasn't available, so I had to get a different one; in another case one of the bulbs burned out and I had to reach out to get it replaced. The final thing is that Joshua follows through. The mulch for the back was delayed due to an inventory issue and I hadn't heard from him after the work for a number of weeks, but then he called me when the items came back in and scheduled the follow-up. The point is: if you need something from him, don't be afraid to reach out. The work was quite costly but I think that you get what you pay for and when you go with Harris & Co., you get a lot.

Great experience! Love the finished product! We were connected with Harris & Co through the folks we were hiring to pave our driveway. Josh, the owner reached out to me to schedule time, he came up with a design that brought granite pavers and cobblestones together to finish the side entrance and where the garage meets the driveway that was better than I could have imagined. From there, he ran with ordering materials, meeting the timeline, getting the materials on site and bringing in quality guys to do the job. There was an issue with a drain pipe that was installed that would have impacted how the stones were laid and Josh identified and rectified it by adding a right angle to the pipe. That alone, showed that he genuinely cared about the quality and the customer satisfaction. We would highly recommend.

Excellent. I have used Harris & Company for landscape work for years now at different homes. For this job, the added in a beautiful fire pit and a seating area, as well a huge patio area that goes from my deck to the pool. They also redid my entire front entry way, changing the entire look of my house for the better. The work the entire team was meticulous. They are always friendly and professional. Looking forward to more yard renovation from these guys. I can't recommend them enough.

Work was done well and on time. Josh Harris arrived personally to ensure that the work was being done correctly. A retaining wall and planter were rebuilt. They were restored to their original form.

Everything went great. Harris & Co. team was a pleasure to work with. Josh provided many design ideas that we hadn't considered. Our original design had a straight sitting wall. Josh suggested curving it, to flow with the round patio. It looks great. Also suggested the inner circle of black stone (see photos). The patio is quite large. The inner circle breaks it up a bit. Looks much better than if we had left it plain. We hadn't even thought about lighting. Josh educated us on lighting and made some great suggestions. We took his advice, and could not be happier with the end results.

It was a great experience. I love how my back yard space was transformed. The team was prompt, professional, and everything was done in the time frame I was given at the start. I would definitely hire this company again and fully intend to for my next project.

Josh and his team were very professional. Always on time and I we knew what we were getting before the work was finish because Josh took the time to talk to us and explain the process, I have to say that all my neighbors love my patio and we receive a lot of complements from people just walking by. If you want a work well done Josh is your guy!

The process all went smoothly. It was clear during the construction that the stairs and walkway will last a very long time. The preparation steps exceeded anything I knew was required for this type of work. At one point, the owner Joshua, was on site having the crew pick up some of the walkway already put down as it didnt match the original plan. He wanted it done right and thats what we got. Very pleased.

Every month we know they will be here. We have a lot of gardens, woods and pond near us so it is very important we can count on these services. They are also very friendly.

We were extremely pleased with the work done by Harris and Company, from the design to the installation. Everything went smoothly and they came in on time and under budget. The work is beautiful! We've gotten tons of positive feedback from people visiting the park about how well it all came together!

The work went well, all of the workers were professional and diligent. The final project looks awesome. There were some pieces of sod that didn't take over the winter time but Josh was more then willing to replace them. I would hire them again.

Josh Harris did a fantastic job landscaping our yard and installing sod. During our first conversation when he started discussing heated driveways and other projects he was working on, i was worried he was going to be out side of our price range. It turned out his price for the landscape work was reasonable, as well as the quotes for the patio and masonry work. He cares a great deal about his work and the overall outcome. How good the project will look years after it is done. John Harris was always on time and on schedule and finished on budget. I look forward to having him return to replace a porch.

Harris and Company came up with a great design and transformed our backyard area from a sandpit into a beautiful patio with a fire pit. They also beautifully landscaped around the entire patio area. They also installed lighting along the pathways, around the fire pit and as uplighting on selected plantings. The finished project came out just as we had hoped. Josh and his crew were very professional and attentive to our requirements and concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend Harris and Company for any landscaping, hardscaping or lighting projects.
