Asphalt Engineering

Had to come out twice, not by their fault. Always were clean, prompt, polite, quite for my neighbors and efficient. Very pleased.

We had delays because of terrible Spring weather but they rescheduled and came when promised and did a complete excavation the first day and complete installation on the next scheduled day. It looks good except for one area where the two driveways meet. There is a slight ripple which their rep says is unavoidable. He said that since their workmanship is warrantied we should wait until we get through a winter (it was installed in June) and see if it becomes a problem or not. We decided to go with this plan because we didn't want to create problems with the driveway 'curing' over the summer. In general it looks very nice.

The process was smooth and easy from the initial contact. I had contacted a number of companies but Asphalt Engineering was prompt, informative and totally professional. They came out within a very short time frame and gave us an estimate, which was a very fair one. They were organized and kept us informed during the whole process, and the work was done beautifully. All the staff including the folks who did the paving were warm and courteous and professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat,

Excellent! It was a 2 day job. First day for the prep work and the second day for resurfacing. All work was performed exactly as stated on original contract. Everything was completed on time with no issues. Very professionally done.

Terrific. They communicated very well throughout, especially when rain messed up the schedule. They have very knowledgeable crew. They were careful of our Property. The price was reasonable. And the result looks to be far superior too last job 13 years ago by a defunct company.

Asphalt Engineering did a wonderful job in every way. From the initial consultation and estimate, to the scheduling of the work, to the removal and final installation of the driveway, the company's employees and crews were thoroughly professional, friendly and considerate, and clearly highly skilled in the jobs they do. The cost of the job was higher than other estimates that I received, but the quality of the work and the overall experience clearly demonstrated that it was well worth it. This is truly a case of you get what you pay for. I would use Asphalt Engineering again without hesitation.

Went great. full rip and replace of existing driveway. Two coats of asphalt on top of a new and leveled sub base.

All portions of the customer experience were prompt, courteous, and professionally handled. An estimator arrived within a day of contact and, once the very thorough and detailed itemized quote was delivered and agreed upon, the administrative staff was responsive and very courteous. Both teams of workers dispatched to do the job were obviously skilled and dedicated, and showed a high level of respect for both my property and my fascinated children. The driveway turned out far better than I imagined and took surprisingly little time. I would enthusiastically recommend these folks to anyone!

Asphalt Engineering did an amazing job and we couldn't be more pleased. They were professional, prompt and courteous. They gave us guidelines for some prep we needed to do before they started the project and then after the job was done, they gave us guidelines on how to maintain the new driveway to get the best results. We followed every recommendation they gave us and now our neighbors are saying they have driveway envy. I will be using them in the future to seal coat our new driveway when it is needed.

Job looks great - smooth and leveled. Had a few rainy days after job was completed and there are no dips in the driveway where water can pool up.

Professional from beginning to end. Estimator was quick and thorough. Project planner and I were in contact often, as needed. Prep crew and paving crew showed up as scheduled. Even little job issues were quickly resolved (such as laying conduit for invisible fencing, and coordinating with stone crew on cobbles). I initially was going to go with another Angie's List A-graded paver because they were a little cheaper. Turned out that they were terrible on planning and coordination and I withdrew from them quickly. Asphalt Engineers was so much better on planning and prep. Lesson: Not all A-rated providers are equal.

Excellently! I cannot say enough great things about Asphalt Engineering. From project coordination, to excavation, to the paving itself, the Asphalt Engineering team rocked it! They showed up on time, they explained everything, and answered my questions, of which I had many. Payment was easy. Their quote and project communication process was also very easy. The final product exceeded my expectations and I would use their services again. The pictures speak for themselves.

I called for a estimate was asked my name and then my email address (that was how they would get the estimate to me.) I said "thank you anyways" and good bye. I'm all for technology, but one thing will never change... I want complete verbal communication and a written estimate in hand. (It's been my experience with other companies that they do not follow through. I no longer will do business with companies who solely communicate through email) I've seen a lot of their work in the local areas and have been very impressed. I wish they would correspond by phone and writing.

The driveway turned out exactly as we'd hoped. Drainage was a big concern, but the sloping and angles are just what we requested. We were a little disappointed when our project was pushed back due to another client (under contract deadline), but everything was completed before winter which was crucial. The end result is perfection and we were very impressed by the communication, quality and efficiency. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Removal of old asphalt, sod and sinkhole excavation: Removal of old asphalt driveway. -went well. Removal of sod for the expansion of driveway. -went well. Excavation/inspection of sink hole. -went well. Found a couple of larger rocks, not known what had caused the sinkhole. The sinkhole area was filled in. The rest of the driveway and the area where the sod had been removed, was only 3 inches deeper than the surrounding surfaces. I had requested to excavate deeper to have a thicker sub base. The foreman stated that they only dig deeper if they think it needs it. The base from the old driveway was good enough. In the contract it states "remove any unneeded or insufficient sub-base, haul away and dispose (depth of up to 12 inches as needed)" . I walked around the driveway area and found several tips of large rocks (8 + inches in diameter) sticking out, I took a shovel and exposed the rocks further so the workers could see them. The quantity of gravel that was brought to the site was minimal in my opinion. The gravel was laid out very thin in some areas of the driveway. I was told that I could use the driveway with the gravel in place until the scheduled asphalt delivery/installation. Just walking over the gravel it moved, so I chose to not use the driveway in fear of making holes/tire tracks. Installation of asphalt: I spoke with the foreman when they arrived. Stated my disappointment with the other crew on the preparation of the sub-base. He stated that it looked good and he doesn't have anything to do with the other foreman and other crew. The asphalt was laid down and compacted. I asked the foreman why the top edges of the asphalt were lower than the walkways. He stated that it was a good thickness, but if I wanted he would build it up. The asphalt part of the job was well done. The sub-base preparation and applied gravel was very disappointing. This was no accident in my opinion, the gravel truck had a small quantity of gravel. I am hoping the driveway lasts for many years. Hind site: I would have requested for a minimum required depths of all the material to be noted in the contract. I paid $1000 more to this contractor than the other contractor estimate, thinking of the higher customer ratings on Angie's List.

Asplalt engineering respond to my in gay immediately. They were cryanrel and extremely helpful. This in estimate was on time and answered all my questions and explained things thoroughly. They gave me formation about town reparations that I'm not sure other companies would hour bothered to share. They fit me into the schedule even trough it was the and of the year. Both crows were meticulous and very polite. The people always introduce tremulous and asked me if I had questions. They finished on time-Them guotro were will-documented and derived which made it easy to get a primed from the town. I don't have a single complaint about any strip of the poxes-and there were many.

It went exceptionally. Great team - very professional. Worked quickly, neatly and explained everything I need to know. Even had neighbors stop over to say what a wonderful job they did.

High quality professional works at a very competitive price. The whole job was done in two days. Excellent support from the office (regarding scheduling/rescheduling and minor changes). Everything was done exactly as I wanted or better.
