+ -1 moreFinal job came out great. I was very impressed with the speed and attention to detail of the workers. I was told that they would do the job in two days, but I did not realize it would only take part of those two days. The first day they showed up a little after 1pm and were done before 5pm. On this day they completely removed the asphalt and concrete, added the sub-base, and graded everything. Couldn't believe this happened in under 4 hours. The next day they showed up around 1pm again and put down the binder coat. Again, they were finished in under 4 hours. Couldn't believe it! The driveway looks great and came out better than I thought it would. I am looking forward to seeing how it will look with the top coat. The only issue I had with the whole experience was the communication (hence the one B). There was one mistake that I had caught in the estimate that made them increase the price of the quote significantly (approx. $900). The problem was that I requested about 250sqft of concrete to be removed, but the asphalt estimate did not include this extra square footage. To be fair, I had requested multiple changes to the quote and the job wasn't a straight-forward one. Also, the company recognized their mistake and to keep my business met in the middle with the additional cost. I am glad that I chose Asphalt Engineering and I am very happy with their work.
Description of Work: From quote: "Rip up and remove existing asphalt. Remove unneeded or insufficient sub-base and dispose (4-12 inches as needed). Add needed tons of 3/4" reprosessed gravel (sub-base). Grade for proper water run off. Compact with 5 ton vibratory roller. Pave 1.5" basecoat (after compaction). Compact with roller. Tamper all edges. 15 tons." The job also required existing concrete to be removed around the house and in front of the garage. Multiple cuts in the concrete needed to be made. I will be having Asphalt Engineering come back in the spring to do the top coat. I did just the binder coat first so that the driveway could settle over the winter and so that I can figure out what to do about replacing my side steps. The difference in cost for doing to top coat on another day was approximately $500. The quote above does not include the top coat. When all is said and done the total cost for both binder and top coat will be $5700.

+ 0 moreWorking with him was very good. He was very nice. When he put down the sealer, it flaked up during the winter. He came back the following summer to fix it at no charge to me. Even though he was easy to work with I don't no if I would hire him again in the future.
Description of Work: They scraped my driveway, power washed it, then he put down new sealer on my asphalt.
