Asphalt Engineering

Purchased the driveway seal coating Big Deal on Angies. They came to take a look at my driveway and left an estimate to seal the cracks. I guess you have to hire them for the crack sealing (not included) before they can do the seal coating. Not a big deal as the price on the crack sealing + the seal coating with the Big Deal ended up pretty reasonable anyway. I also wanted them to expand the width of my driveway by 7' so they gave me an estimate for that. They were very responsive to my inquiries and worked with me on a price that I was happy with. They were also going to throw in some additional services at a reduced rate. All was great... until they tried to obtain a permit from my town. It turned out that my town (Wellesley) has town laws that limit how wide your driveway can be. It is the most SILLY thing I've ever heard considering the number of existing 3 and 4 car driveways around Wellesley. So I was not able to get the work done considering all the estimates done. Not this companies fault. Just ridiculous town laws stopped the work from happening.

Excellent experience. Schedule was a breeze. The crew showed up on time and completed the job in 2 hours. Looks great. Their price was nearly $2000 less than another quote I got. Erin, the operations manager, followed up to see if everything well. Will use them again.

They're very good. They're easy to work with. They set an appointment and didn't require me to be there to do their work. They were professional in answering calls and easy to set up an appointment with.

Asphalt Engineering did a great job of repairing our driveway. An estimator came to our property within two days of our request for an estimate. Work was scheduled and completed within approximately three weeks. The quality of the work was very good. Highly recommended.

They did an excellent job on the driveway. They came when they said they would. They were very neat with their work. They set up barriers so no one could pull into the driveway while they were working. They were also very accommodating and professional.

Original driveway was single car width and two cars long. I called Asphalt Engineering to take a look at adding a space for 1 car at the bottom of the Driveway making it 2 cars wide. They were responsive and professional while dealing with them. They quoted both just adding the space and also repaving the original with the space added. I went for the latter since the original driveway was only in ok shape. The crews worked quick and the result is an absolutly professional driveway. The water drains off without any puddles and all to the side that is nearby a street drain.

It went reasonly well. The price is more than I expected to seal-coat the whole area, so I ended up just repairing the pothole. I am still considering options to repair the whole driveway. They did a good job on the agreed-upon work in terms of scheduling and quality.

They started well with a prompt estimate, but on the day of the appointment, they were hours late and then seemed to rush the job. The job was done in a messy manner with rough seams and sink holes that were filled improperly (they are now sinking again). We contacted the company to discuss our dissatisfaction and we were told they would come by and look. They were never heard from again.

They were easy to deal with. Arrived as promised and their repairs have stood up to the snow ploughs.

The work turned out pretty good. Next time I would want to talk to them ahead of time to discuss the job. Only because I think the cracks were too big.

Ashpalt Engineering did great work replacing my driveway. Showed up as scheduled for the estimate and the replacement work. Staff was professional and responsive (and patient) with my questions while I was going through the process of making a final decision on who would do the work. There estimate was more expensive that some of the other bids, but I had the greatest confidence in their ability to do the work based on their professionalism and other work in my area.

Have not had them perform the work yet.

The work was performed over two days by two different crews, a prep crew and a finish crew. Both crews were excellent. The were timely, knowledgeable, and professional. They completed the work on time and did a fantastic job.

Someone very professional called to schedule my service. Though we had to reschedule twice due to bad weather, they always called well in advance so I wasn't stuck at home waiting-which I greatly appreciated. I thought they did a great job and in the middle of their job three neighbors stopped to ask them for quotes and service! I would use them again...probably the best testament to the service:)

Once I contacted the company they were quick to respond, they got me one their schedule within two weeks. They arrived on time and completed the job in a neat and timely manner, even though I had forgotten to fax the signed contract to them. They were lovely to work with.

Overall, everything went great. We contacted Asphalt Engineering with an Angie's list coupon. They got back to us and came over for an estimate immediately. They scheduled the service, and even called to remind us, and let us know how they would proceed a few days before they came. The were very punctual and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this company without reservation.

Phone/email contact was fine. Couldn't schedule until next June due to lateness in season.

My driveway never looked better.

Purchased a Groupon for driveway sealing from Asphalt Engineering. They sent an estimator out who wrote up an estimate that included repairs to the driveway in addition to the seal coat I requested. I had the driveway done several times before by another company for a flat $250.00 that included sealing cracks and applying sealant to the whole driveway. I thought I got a deal with the Groupon for $125, but the job was quoted with an additional charge to seal cracks and an upcharge for excess square footage. The total was $250... exactly what I had paid the other guys. I felt ripped off, but scheduled the work (seal coat only) to be done. When the day came to do the job, the crew didn't show up because it was raining. However, no one called to say they were not coming... it was just a no show. When I called the office, they said they were "just about to call me" (at 1:30PM when they were scheduled for 10AM). So, we rescheduled for 9/ 24/12 between 10 and noon. Again, no show, no call. I called the office at 12:30P and they said they were "just about to call me" (sound familiar?!) to tell me they were delayed (no kidding!). When the crew showed up, they were competent and did a great job... no complaints with the quality of work, but the communication from the office is terrible and their prices are high. I would not use them again - UPDATE: The office manager from Asphalt Engineering contacted me after writing the review (above) and worked hard to make up for the issue I had with their communication. She apologized profusely and offered a full credit toward a future driveway sealing. She seemed to be sincerely concerned about the issue and promised to do all she could to make sure it never happened again.

Big Deal for sealcoating was what got me interested. John measured my driveway for sealcoating without my having to be there. I asked about some paving work so Nate met me to review options. Nate proposed some ideas which were excellent and he thoroughly explained them to me. Amanda sent me an estimate, applying Angie's List discount to all work without my having to request it. Price very reasonable for the amount of work. Some difficulties scheduling paving. I had to call a few too many times requesting a date. Then there were some unforeseen problems that required postponement, which was not a significant inconvenience. All of the work performed was first rate. I would highly recommend Asphalt Engineering.

This was an Angie's List half price deal. The sales order staff was helpful and friendly. The work was scheduled within a reasonable time and they showed up exactly when they said they would. The three-person crew did a good job on preparation and the sealcoating. I am thinking of using them for repaving my driveway next year based on the good job they did with the sealcoating.

They came on time and took them one hour to finish the job for a 22x60 feet driveway .

Asphalt engineering worked with us to schedule all the prep work and then the final paving around other construction that was being done. Cooperative schedule held final paving until other contractors heavy vehicles were no longer in use. This protected the final driveway surface from possible work damage. I got several quotations and work descriptions from other driveway paving contractors. Asphalt Engineering clearly can do larger projects such as roads and parking lots. I was impressed with the caliber of equipment they used to get the job done effectively and quickly. Much better than a "Bobcat". They were prompt, professional and friendly. I would certainly use them again.
