A-Tec Chimney Sweep

I was pleased with everything. The only thing that went wrong was when they came on in their estimate, they didn't cover a certain part that they needed. The job never got done the same day. They came back three days later and finished the installation. They were friendly and professional. They came back within three days, and they fixed it.

A-tec came out today to sweep and inspect my fireplace chimney and inspected my furnace flue. James and his partner were punctual, professional, and they left my house as clean as they found it,(which is to be expected). Most importantly to me, was their lack of pressure in selling extra services. Having just bought my house at the end of last winter, i had no idea what work needed to be done. James could have charged me to clean the furnace flue, but instead was honest and said it wasn't necessary. He simply informed me of some work that should be done in the not to distant future, and gave me an idea of what the cost for that work would be . He also found and removed a dead squirrel from the chimney without a complaint. I suppose that's a bit of an occupational hazard, but that doesn't make it any less nasty. I will definitely be using A-tec for all my future chimney services and will recommend them to anyone looking for a good chimney sweep in the future.

I Found favorable reviews on Angie's List, so I called them and they were at my home providing a complete estimate in 5 days and the work was scheduled and completed in a week. They beat the other three estimates by 800+ with the exact same services performed. They also didn't try and scam me with saying I needed this expensive staging, Like the other two I received estimates from . The $100.00 off Angie's List Coupon was a great addition as well. They were on time , performed it right the first time and I will be using them for all my chimney services in the future. I would highly recommendthem for sure!

I have a shared driveway so it was critical that the work - which required blocking the driveway - be done as quickly as possible. A-Tec send a full crew who blew through a pretty big job in under two days. They did a nice job with the re-pointing and even were able to handle 'add-on' jobs, such as bricking in an old garage window, that I mentioned on the main day of the work. They were on time, polite, and cleaned up after themselves, including washing out the driveway. I did initially have a small problem with the job - I had asked for some hooks to be installed on the chimney for a trellis. It's not something they normally handle and I guess the instructions confused them. However, when I wasn't happy with the results, they quickly offered to come back and re-do the work to my specs at no extra charge. It looks great now! I would recommend them and funnily enough so does the shop I bought my gas fireplace from!

They were on time and very professional. My chimney was cleaned quickly and was left sparkling. No mess was left in the house. They also did a thorough inspection of my flue and found some damage. Dave explained in detail what was going on and showed me as well. He gave me a no pressure quote if I wanted to repair it. I would use these guys again!

They came on time and inspected both chimneys. Told me the one from the boiler was fine and did not need cleaned. Cleaned my fireplace and chimney. Did a great job, not a speck of dirt anywhere when they left.

He came sharp on time, and got straight to work. Told me what he was going to do, and after finishing the work told me all he did. I spent some time observing what he was doing, and I was impressed. While cleaning the flue near the burner, he pointed out the junk in the burner and that it had to be cleaned. I was expecting him to suggest someone to clean it up (more as a marketing gimmick), but he did not. He simply asked me to contact my oil provider to do the clean-up service too. When he came the week after for the chimney cap, he had help. Both of them got to work quickly, and it was done very smoothly. I highly recommend these guys.

The technician called me when they were about 30 minutes away. They arrived on time and went right to work. The service technicians (there were two) cleaned my chimney from the basement first. I watched the process; it was very interesting. They were quick and efficient and left no mess when finished. They inspected the inside of the chimney from the bottom and then checked it from the roof. They used a large whisk type broom head and vacuum to clean the inside of the chimney. They did find some issues and gave me a quote for future brick and lining work without being pushy. I will consider them for any future repair work and will call them again for chimney cleaning.

Dave, and his workers were courteous, friendly, conscientious, careful, and hardworking. They arrived on time, kept me informed of the timeline for the work, and completed the job within 4 days. There was no disruption of work, no rescheduling. They did what they said they were going to do and they kept to their schedule. One of Dave's workers, Jimmy, worked with him everyday. They worked very well together in harmony. Jimmy is an excellent helper and provides a bit of light-heartedness that is sometimes needed when working under difficult conditions. The quality of the work is second to none. Dave runs a job site as if he were working on his own home. He is very careful to clean up everything as he goes and to leave the site as clean as it was before he started. For such a big job there was minimal disturbance to my home. I have used A-Tec for many jobs and cleaning for the three years that I have lived in my 1790's built home. I trust his judgement explicitly. Dave and his company will go the extra mile to complete the job to perfection. He takes pride in his work, as he should.

Super job. Did what other sweeps could--or would--not do. Responsive, when other sweeps would not even give us an estimate--or wanted $99 just to look at the job. Came when they promised and cleaned up when they were done. We were impressed. Ask for David.

I called A-Tec for an estimate to rebuild the top of my chimney and install a stainless steel cap. I also got an estimate on a new liner but ultimately decided to just fix what was on the outside. Steve came out an gave me an estimate. He arrived on time and explained to me what needed to be done. He was very professional. I got a few other quotes but this one was the cheapest. I set up a time for them to come and do the work. They came on time. I spoke to David to make sure he knew I only wanted a few things done from the quote. He assured me he knew what needed to be done. They got to work and finished in a few hours. They did a great job. The chimney looks terrific. The price was exactly the same as they quoted. I was very pleased. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

A-Tech chimney was very responsive. I called and spoke with the owner (Jon) and he scheduled a cleaning of the chimney and an inspection to determine what needed to be done to repair the flue liner (within just a few days). The technicians arrived on time, were polite, and explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. The size of my chimney cap was not standard, so they needed to set up another time to come back and when they had the correct cap. They cleaned the chimney and inspected it on the first day. They showed me a few issues that could be corrected (minor cracking in the mortar and some flashing that was not properly installed), but they also explained that the second flue (for the furnace) did not need to be cleaned at this time. They provided a written estimate for all suggested work and priced it individually so I could decide what work (if any) I wanted completed. I called the owner again to schedule the same technicians to come back and do all of the work and they were back within a week. On the date of the second appointment, they were running late. However, they called before the scheduled appointment time, updated their arrival time, and then arrived at the updated time. Once again, the technicians were professional, thorough, and showed me what they were doing. I am pleased with the project and the work done. I will use them again in the future.

I received several estimates. A-TEC quoted a price in the middle of the other estimates but they also quoted that they would need and perform more pointing work than the lower estimates. They began the work shortly after I accepted the quote. Work was performed over two days according to the schedule. Both chimneys look great and the crew was professional and courteous answering questions and cleaning up after the work was done. I was nervous about having this done since it is a lot of money and it's hard to know whether you'll get your money's worth based on a quote. However, I'm glad I went with A-TEC, the chimneys look great. Do's: - Get multiple estimates. Those I received were all over the place in terms of what they claimed needed to be done and what it would cost. Very hard to comparison shop. The only way I could get comfortable moving forward was to talk to several companies and find out what they quoted and why. - Use an company with years of experience. This type of work is mostly labor, it's hard to predict the quality of some one new to the business Don't: - Perform this after painting your house like I did, instead do this first. The work is inherently dusty. I'm mostly cleaned up now, but wish I had reversed the order.

Prices were very reasonable, $200.00 than the other quote, provided excellent service.

A-tec were extremely professional, informative, and efficient. They swept and inspected the chimney and (at my request) provided a assessment of what needed to be done to address an issue with the flue. I would definitely use them again.

It was excellent. They were very fairly priced. The estimate was nicely detailed. They were punctual and clean and efficient. They got the job done sooner than expected. I would definitely recommend them to others. They were honest and up front about everything from the beginning to the end.

I can't speak enough about how prompt, professional, and great a job A-Tec did. For the inspection, they were slated to show up between 8 and 10 on a Saturday morning and arrived at 9am with a crew of 3. 2 guys on the roof and one guy in the house. On May 9th, they came to do the repairs. My wife and I weren't home, so we left them a key and when we arrived at the house after work, we found all of the repairs they had quoted to be done and practically immaculate. We were concerned about the mess that cleaning the fireplace would cause, on account of the fact that we had just repainted our living room, but we were assured that they treat every home like it's a million dollar home and sure enough, the only clue I had that they had torn out the hearth to replace the brick and cleaned the ash was that everything looked new. No dirt or grime anywhere on the surrounding walls or floors. I would absolutely call on A-Tec again. They were responsive and professional. Having never used a chimney repair company before, I can't speak to how their prices rank against other companies, but I feel I got my money's worth from them and will call on them next time we need help with our chimney.

Arrived early, worked the entire day with a crew of 3 to 4. They stayed within the original estimate and left everything neat and clean. They never tried to upsell for more or different work.

The booking, quote, and work went very well overall. The repointing was interrupted because of darkness and rain, and wasn't fully visible till the sun came out. I called Jonathan, the owner, who sent 2 men back in a timely fashion to finish the job. I was very pleased, and would recommend this contractor.

We had never had the chimney on our house cleaned in the years we owned it. I left a message for a quote and my call was returned by Jonathan in less than 1/2 an hr. It was easy to schedule to have it done and very nice to have a company be so quick to respond. Dave and his helper showed up on time, did the inspection and cleaning quickly and were very neat and professional. We knew the chimney needed to be replaced at least from the roof up and asked Dave for an estimate. He wrote it up and I called a couple days later to schedule that. Again, Jonathan was really nice and helpful when I called to schedule. They were available quickly and we scheduled. They tore down the chimney, just from the roof up, replaced the two flues and put a stainless steel cap on it. Again, David and the crew showed up on time. Were very polite and took the time to clean up the debris from the tear down. They went the extra mile in making the chimney more than just a simple chimney and it came out great. I cannot say enough about A-Tec. The owner and the other guys were all so nice to deal with. I highly recommend them. The coupons from Angie's list also help to offset the cost. They were right on with the estimate for the chimney replacement and I definitely got my money's worth.

They were the second company I called and I was quite pleased they were able to schedule a visit within the week. They provided an estimate price based on what AI needed done before arriving. I called to have 2 fireplace chimney's inspected and cleaned and repair work on broken brick in1. They were prompt, quick and very thorough with their work and my surprise the repair work was minor and very inexpensive. While on site I inquired about a fireplace cap and the price given was reasonable so this work was performed as well. In addition an estimate was provided the for older of the 2 chinmeys if so wished they have it rebuilt above the roofline in the future.

Very clean, very professional, & very courteous. Took time to teach us how to properly use a fireplace & answered all questions. Discovered deteriorating structure in the oil tank flue & provided estimate for repair. Also encouraged us to get comparison quotes.

I called A Tec based on reviews on Angie's List. They quickly returned my call, came within 2 days, performed an inspection of 2 fireplace chimneys and fixed a minor problem with one chimney (top down damper chain closure had broken). I though I needed a flue clean on one fireplace but they said it was quite clean. They were very professional, clean, and efficient. They only charged me the minimum for a "house call" since it didn't take much time for the repair.

This company was great. Someone answered the phone when I called, and I was able to schedule an appointment in a reasonable amount of time (I think it was a couple of weeks). They showed up on time and the inspection and cleaning was completed in a professional manner. They took the time to avoid getting soot on the carpet and around the house. The cap size required for my chimney had to be ordered, but the guys were able to schedule another appointment even before they left. The second visit did not require me to be home, so they were able to install while I was at work. When I got home, it was done! I would recommend A-Tec anytime and I look forward to calling them again next year!
