We contacted Ms. Allen on a recommendation that she was the best in the area. The home for sale was due to divorce. Ms. Allen was initially hired by my spouse and began marketing the home without speaking to me or obtaining my approval or a signed agreement. She was subsequently asked to cease as we were still tied up in divorce proceedings. Once the divorce was finalized, Ms Allen was again contacted by my spouse, with agreement from me, and agreed to market and sell the home without speaking to me or obtaining an agreement. During the course of selling the home it was necessary for me to call her to obtain any information regarding the progress she had made in marketing the home. When there were potential buyers, she never contacted me. As a buyer emerged, I was told that the house had been sold and when the closing was going to take place. Upon signing the closing paperwork with the attorney I was told that we would be delayed a couple of days for the closing (by the attorney). After the closing date I called to inquire about picking up my check from the attorney. The attorney's assistant informed me that the closing had been moved and that she was in receipt of paperwork signed by me agreeing to this. I informed the attorney's office that I had signed no such paperwork. I called Ms. Allen and she informed me that she had signed my name on the extension and didnt think that I would object (as I am sure that I wouldnt have). This was clearly unethical and unprofessional conduct which I explained to her that I was not happy about.
