JIMMY BURGOFF MOVING

I spoke with Jimmy on the phone for 46 seconds and he made me feel like an absolute idiot.

These guys were amazing! Their pricing was well under the competition, by over $200! They arrived on time and prepared. They were friendly and extremely accomadating. They were able to fit everything in the storage space (which we thought would be impossible) And did so in a neat, safe and organized way. We were very happy with the level of service provided. And would recommend this company to anyone looking for moving services.

Scratched up and dented my hardwood floors. His workers were on their phone texting for a lot of the time. I got an eye infection and corneal abrasion that day and was in extreme pain and lost my vision, and they took advantage of the fact that I couldn't see or monitor them well to do a ****** job. Texted him the picture of my dented hardwood floors and never got a reply. If you read his response on Yelp to a negative review he received from another customer, you'll see that it's sarcastically insulting his own customer. That shows enough of the owner's lack of character.

Jimmy and his team were amazing. This is the first time I've ever had the final cost of the move end up less than the estimate. The team were efficient, friendly, and polite. They stuck around to help arrange the heavier furniture in the new place (including finagling a tall armoire that only had a couple of inches clearance from the ceiling into place on the second floor. They took extra care with the boxes labeled fragile and made sure not to stack them on the bottom in the truck or in the room where we staged the boxes at the new place (in stark contrast to the horrible movers we had on our last move). Overall they made a typically stressful day more pleasant than expected.

Everything went smoothly. Worked efficiently to move all items including stove and frig. They absolutely knew what they were doing when moving my piano. I would highly recommend this crew.

They were punctual and professional.

1.) gave the owner a professionally prepared inventory list of exactly what we had to move. It was the exact same list a professional moving service gave us when we moved from Southern Connecticut to Longmeadow (80 miles) only 1 year earlier. 2.) Burgoff quoted $1600 which wasn't that much less than the 80 miles we had moved the year before. 3.) I accepted. 4.) Long story short: his small trucks seemed they were from 1957...he told me he had the large trailer trucks like the national chains... 5.) Which means they had to make about 40 trips over a 2-3 day period instead of 1. 6.) After day 1 and a 13 hour day his poor guys (who were AWESOME but badly understaffed...and worked like dogs...) said Mr Burgoff said the price is now $3500!!!!! From $1600... 7.) I said I am willing to pay $3000 no more: WHICH WAS MORE THAN COMING 80 MILES NORTH FROM NEW HAVEN, CT AREA! Imagine paying $1400 MORE than quoted: FOR ANYTHING! 8.) Then we later found out they forgot to empty the entire kitchen cabinets and garage from the former house across town...which means WE had to make several more trips in our own cars... 9.) Due to my career, we have moved about every 7 years since 1996. This was...by far...the worst move. Ever. AND I paid almost DOUBLE than quoted. I would have given an "F" but his poor guys were awesome and grossly overworked ... 10. )Then when he came for his payment...he had the audacity to say he regretted the newer price and moaning about the $3000!! THEN he says I should pay an ADDITIONAL $100 cash so I could tip the guys... Why did I wait so long to write this? Because I am still angry about the additional $1400....and Angies List resurrected this mover 's review that I did not finish the first time....

Jimmy's crew were very professional. They were thoughtful/intentional with the packing and got all of our stuff into one truck. They were very careful on both ends of the move. They did a great job!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jimmy was easy to work with and very responsive. The movers were professional and efficient--the were non stop and didn't waste any time. I hope I don't need to move again but there is no question who I'll be calling if I do.

Jimmy has moved our household, two pianos and one hot tub for us. He is responsive, honest and his crews are hardworking. I was particularly impressed with how well his crew packed our goods in to the truck. . . no damage whatsoever. We will continue using him in the future. (The price quoted was for the last piano move. The cost of the other moves was reasonable.)

The crew was on time. Only two of the four crew members seemed to have experience but they did a good job. I believe that they underestimated the size of the job and it took longer than they expected. I hired some private labor to assist but by the end of the job they were tired and a bit sloppy. A few damaged pieces but nothing real important. It was a good job for the price. The cost was about 20 % less than others. if you want white glove service you have to pay for it.

First of all, let me say this was not my first move, but the first with Jimmy Burgoff Movers. I initially chose Jimmy because of their high ratings on Angie's List and local recommendations. I was very pleased to find that all the positive comments of their provided services were accurate. Phone communication was excellent and the procedures and pricing factors explained in full. They were even able to accommodate my need to reschedule twice, I'm sure not without great effort on their part. Nevertheless, Jimmy always remained pleasant and understanding. On the scheduled moving day they arrived exactly on time, looked over the home, and began work immediately. Their care and concern for my property were refreshing as it had not always been my experience with others.. If you're contemplating using one of the "Big Guys" national moving firms, I urge you to rethink your choice. They have clever advertising and pretty commercials, but in my experience provide sub-standard service at much higher rates. If I move again Jimmy Burgoff Movers will be doing he job. I'd even leave my phone # to confirm I am a real customer but I am confident that would violate Angie's List rules. Still, trust me, you will not be disappointed with these folks.

0Jimmy's two-man crew on this job was friendly and courteous. They arrived on time and got to work immediately. There were a couple fairly heavy pieces, but they handled them carefully. The cost of the job was $600. I didn't get estimates from other companies, but my sense was that the total for the job would be a bit less. I'd moved quite a lot of the smaller items myself, prior to arrival, so wonder what the cost would have been if I hadn't.

Excellent!!!!! Wow, great crew, responsive owner, fantastic service! I was stood up on moving day by the company I'd originally booked my move with. Desperate, I started calling around. Jimmy responded to my frantic plea for assistance with a calm, "let me see what I can do." He got in touch with his crew out on a current job. BTW, they were scheduled to take the afternoon off. They agreed to help me out. Jimmy stayed in touch with me throughout the morning letting me know ETA. The gentlemen who showed up were reassuring and friendly. They handled this last minute rescue with grace and professionalism. I can't thank Jimmy and his men enough!

It went very well; it was rather smooth. They were pretty responsive after my first enquiry in two ways; first of all they immediately responded in listening to my requirements and then they followed up with concrete information about the estimate and left an open door for follow-up questions. They were also flexible about coming in on a holiday weekend. They actually did the work without damage. Everything was good from communication and caring for my objects.

He arrived on the date specified and took it to the destination that same day. He was careful and managed to successfully get the piano out through a relatively narrow turn through the front door. He was polite and responsive at both ends of the transport. After the piano was loaded we asked if he would also take a piece of garden statuary to the same destination since there was room in the truck. He agreed to taking it. . . no extra charge.

Jimmy was very responsive to our call when we needed to move an appliance on an emergency basis. He listened to the problem and went above and beyond to help us out. His employees who showed up were so helpful and conscientious, also. Jimmy even followed up with me later that evening, way after hours, to make sure that everything had gone all right and see if I needed anything else. Just when you start to think there is no more customer service out there, you run into someone like this, a real member of the community, a locally-owned business who is eager to help you. We would absolutely use his services again for any moves in the future and highly recommend him as well.

The movers were quick, polite, friendly and did everything possible to make the move a good experience. They worked hard to load my belongings so that I took the least possible space in rented pods to save me money. A great group and I highly reccomend this company

Jimmy's two guys got there on time and took a look at everything I had to move. They arranged everything in their truck carefully and carted it to my new place. After looking over where the major items were to go , they began unloading and placing things in the respective rooms. They worked well together and didn't waste time. I am very happy with their work. This is the second time I have used Jimmy B. The first time was when I moved to this area six years ago. The service is just as good now and I highly recommend his moving company.

We called Jimmy with a request to move a very heavy safe. He answered his phone and we didn't have to leave a message and wait for a call back (two other providers didn't even bother to call back). We called on a Monday and he said he could be there on Tuesday morning. We had a very heavy antique safe in the back of our SUV and could not move it ourself. We explained it took about 5 guys to get it in the car so weren't sure how many we would need to get it out. He said not to worry, he would be there with 2 of his guys and all the equipment they should need. He showed up the next morning right when he said they would, they had the safe out and in the house in about an hour. We had been concerned about damaging the floors due to the weight of the safe but they were very careful and we had no issues. The guys were great and we would defninately use again.

He's very good and very competent. My daughter works at the museum in Springfield, Quadrangle and they've used him to move heavy things. He knows what he's doing.

This was a hastily arranged move: I contacted Jimmy Burgoff just 3 days before the moving date. And 2 1/2 days before the move I changed the arrangements from having the piano moved to the dump to having it moved to the residence of a a buyer who materialized at the last moment. Jimmy agreed to this last-minute change with just a 45-minute delay in the scheduled time. The friendly crew arrived right on time, used a proper big-rubber-wheel dolly to avoid scratching the floors, and worked efficiently and carefully. According to the buyer, the piano arrived at their apartment when expected and in good shape. I'm completely satisfied with this experience.

We had just been stranded by another local mover who became unresponsive just days before the move. Panicking, because the lease was up in days, we called anyone we knew if they knew anyone who might help. A neighbor recommended Burghoff. I called Jimmy immediately and he said he would do the move, gave us a provisional estimate based on my answering some questions, and said not to worry. They kept their promise, arriving on time, doing the job with a great relaxed manner, and finished in one day. We felt so grateful. I had a ton of stairs at my old house, making it more labor intensive than average--they huffed and puffed, but never complained. On the other hand, it turns out that these guys do most of the piano moving in the valley, so a small house move like mine was not so bad after all.

The overall move was flawless and efficient!

Jimmy's crew was great and very professional! I had to move my two daughters from Massachusetts to New York City. They were very accommodating, as we had two different pickup sites for the furniture. They were punctual for both the estimate and the move. The workers were very nice, and did a great job wrapping up each individual item for the 5 hour drive to NYC. No items were damaged - even with the 3-story stair climb in the apartment. It was over 100 degrees in NYC, yet the workers never complained! Jimmy was also able to keep to the estimate. They made it very easy to move! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends!
