Colin was very friendly and professional. He arrived on time and took extra precautions to make sure my house was clean ( it as if he wasn't even there). Worked non stoped until job was completely done to my satisfaction. Quality of his work was amazing. Walls and ceiling were flawless. Took extra time to mop the floors when the work was complete. Colin took great pride in his work and the results really showed. Price was fantastic as well. I will definitely use Colin again.

He made an extra effort to try to cover discoloration in kitchen ceiling. Fixed a spot in bathroom where tape was showing. A previous contractor told me it couldn't be removed. Fixed cracks in living room textured ceiling; some places looked better than others. It would be good if all contractors that do ceiling repair state whether they do ceiling painting or not.

This was my second time using McCarthy Plastering, so I was familiar with their work. The most recent job was plastering a family room. Colin responds quickly to inquiries, and looked at the room in question right away for an estimate. He then was able to schedule the work within only a few days, which was great. He plastered the walls and repaired a gouge in the ceiling without me having to ask. The walls are very smooth and I am happy with the work that was done. Colin is punctual, professional and does a great job. He leaves the area so clean you almost wouldn't know he was there. I would recommend McCarthy Plastering, and plan to use them again in the future.

Service was great Colin was on the site when he said he would be and finished all the work above expectations. I would recommend Colin to anyone of my friends and would 100% use him again for plaster work.

It was great. Colin responded immediately and set up a time to look over the job and promptly gave us a quote. He was flexible with scheduling. We had had mixed results a few years ago with another plasterer that did some work for us so I there was some trepidation on my part but not to worry. It was a pleasure working with Colin and the quality of his work was excellent. We could not have asked for a better experience and would not hesitate to hire him again if the need arises.

I thought that Colin was responsive to when he sent the estimate. He gave me phone calls, I thought that was good. He came in, he was prompt he was fast, he was efficient in terms of the overall work. But he did not clean up. That would be the only detriment. He came on a Friday and Saturday and by Saturday afternoon, four o'clock actually he went home to go play with his children. In terms of the rest of it and the final product it was okay.

It was straightforward to schedule both the estimate and the work. Colin did an excellent job.

We contacted several companies, some through word of mouth and some through angie's list. The first estimate was ridiculously high. 2 people never got back to us. Colin McCarthy responded back almost immediately. We set up an estimate, and he arrived exactly when he said he would and had an estimate to us the same night. After looking at our options, we felt the he would be the best person for the job. He was able to fit us into his schedule very quickly. He arrived on time. His work was clean and professional. The job looks great so far (not completely dry yet- but I'm sure it will still look great when it is set). I would recommend him.

I called Colin for a repair to a bathroom ceiling that was damaged due to a roof leak. He was kind enough to come out the same day and repair the ceiling. It was/is a sand textured ceiling with a swirl pattern in it. He covered everything, fixed the ceiling perfectly and was riding off into the sunset. Super nice, polite and professional, my only complaint is he ran out of cards for me to share his info.

Put up blue board and plastered on ceilings of a bedroom, up and downstairs hallways. Plastered some wall cracks in anticipation of my painting. Went over and above, smoothed out many other surface imperfections. Cleaned up well. Very pleasant and businesslike. Would use again.

McCarthy Plastering promptly returned our call, listened to our challenge and iimmediately took time out of his busy schedule to come look at the job we had in mind as we were in a time crunch if we were to proceed. Colin is a breath of fresh air, very professional and honest. We would most definitely call on him again without a doubt! We will happily recommend him to our family and friends!

It was good. He gave us a really solid bid. His pricing is really good. We did see some positive reviews on Angie’s List so that’s how we found him. He offered the best price from a lot of different vendors that we reached out to. His work is really outstanding.

Colin was fantastic: he called back immediately, and made a date to come out to give us an estimate within a couple of days. As promised, he sent us a written estimate the next day. My husband thought his price was very fair, and called to hire him as soon as possible. Because our job was pretty small and he was squeezing us between other jobs, Colin was able to complete the work a few days later. This job entailed putting NEW BOARD OVER our existing HALL (plaster, "popcorn") CEILING --no, this could not just be "scraped off"!! -- throughout our upstairs hallway (including over the staircase), cutting around the new recessed lights and air returns for the A/C systems, then putting a finishing plaster coat on. Colin also patched a large hole in a bedroom wall that was made to run ductwork for the new A/C system. Colin was PROMPT (at the door at 7:00 am on the dot!), NEAT (he and his helper covered all surfaces before they began work, and cleaned up/vacuumed everywhere when they were done), COMPLETED THE JOB ON TIME (in this case, less than a day), and were as NICE as could be! We are budgeting now to hire Colin next year to redo our family room and downstairs hall ceilings. We will definitely hire him again!

Collen McCarthy returned my call call immediately and came to look at the job the next day. He explained what needed to be done and gave me a reasonable price. We set a date when I thought I would be ready, as I had some demo to do and some small repairs. I was'nt ready when I planned but Collen said he would do another small job and rescheduled for a few days later. He was extremely considerate and flexible. When the day came he and his assistant showed up on time and did a great job. They covered the floors and anything else that might get plaster on it. The job took almost three days and they cleaned up after every day, including hosing down any plaster dust footprints in the driveway. I would definately use him again and would reccomend him to anyone.

Colin called back within the same day contacted, followed up on setting up an appointment on the day promised and arrived to do the work with Sean right on time. He and Sean put down plastic and paper, protected the area and adjoining wall. They taped the cracks with nylon mesh and then mixed their materials outside (we supplied water from garden hose). They focused on the work, applied the number of coats required for each type of issue and then cleaned up, leaving our home and the outside spot where they mixed materials, spotless. We need to wait 5 days for the places to cure fully before painting. The walls and ceiling are smooth and even. Very professional, nice people who do great work at a very fair price. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

I recently removed wallpaper from my dining room walls, which are horsehair plaster. The walls were in relatively good shape for being 91 years old, but were still in need of a skim coat. The total wall area that needed to be skim coated was ~185 sq. ft. In addition, if the price was within budget, I was hoping to patch some cracks and dents in a bedroom, which I am also renovating. Before contacting any plasterers or getting estimates, I did a lot of research about the process and gathered a list of questions. I ended up choosing Colin because he had a lot of experience, demonstrated to be the most knowledgeable about his trade by answering my questions, was the most responsive (I called about 5 highly rated contractors from Angie?s list), and was reasonably priced. Colin quoted me $550 for the dining room and then said if I circled the areas in the bedroom that needed fixing, he would take care of those too. The cheapest comparable estimate was $500, but it wasn't clear if this included the other bedroom or not. I had already planned to take the following week off to work on other areas in the two rooms, and Colin was able to move days around to work around my schedule ? which was very helpful. I was very interested in the process and Colin agreed to call me down for each step of the process and show me how it was done. He applied 4 coats of Easy Sand (joint compound) and explained why he couldn?t plaster over my already plastered walls. He even let me try my hand at it, which ended up being disastrous. Colin came back two days later to check on the room and give it a final sanding. The dining room and bedroom came out great. Colin was very professional and kept his work environment clean. I showed Colin around the rest of my house as I plan to hire him on all future rooms.

Colin called back same day, scheduled quote, we scheduled job with him that day. He was able to start our job early which was fantastic for us, he was punctual, cleaned up and most importantly did a excellent job, we are very picky clients too we couldnt of asked for more, he matched a textured ceiling in the kitchen/dining area. You would never know a wall had been removed and two light fixtures were there. GREAT JOB. We are remodeling our basement next year and we will use Colin again, we highly recommend him.

I didn't end up using this contractor, but he was very responsive in looking at the job and getting a quote to me.

I want to thank Colin for such a great job on our ceiling in the master bed & bath! He was amazing to work with - very professional, reliable, and is so nice. Always answered my emails and phone calls promptly, arrived on time and the job was done in one day as promised. Most importantly, his prep and clean-up were terrific. I have not yet hired him, but I am going to be using him. He is very professional; he shows up, gives you estimates and calls you back. He gave me what I expected as a competitive quote from a professional. He has been very good about showing up for appointments, calling back quickly. I am going to use him and I expect that the work should be good. He has met my expectations. His quote was reasonable. I liked that when I first contacted him by e-mail, he called me back within half an hour. I liked that he made an appointment and showed on time. I liked that he said he was going to send me an estimate and he did, and I know something about construction cost and his estimate was right about where I thought it should have been. I like the fact that I had some follow-up questions that he answered promptly and when I contacted him to come and take a look at the job again now that everything was open and ready to be done, he showed up when he was supposed to, gave me a revised estimate when he should have and answered questions promptly.
