I should have been concerned when the shop handwrote the order on an order slip. I have no idea what the salesperson entered in their computer to the warehouse, but this is what the handwritten order slip showed: (2) 4SW, 3T w/adj w/fullwide top BostonWood did not meet the date that they told me the bookcases would be ready. While the bookcases were made of pine and 3/4 plywood as specified, the quality ol the workmanship was sloppy and left much to be desired. When I was told the bookcases were finally ready and I came to pick up the bookcases with a borrowed truck, they had built 2 bookcases with two separate top pieces that were each 46"5 " wide (or 93" total width). The four shelves that they gave me for the bookcases all have chipped edges on one side (like the saw blade that was used to cut was dull). When I mentioned this to the salesperson, he told me not to worry, the bookcase molding would hid the chips. When you look at the picture above, you will see that the bookcases have no molding to hide the chipped shelves. I now have two bookcases that are together 93" wide with a 2" space between each bookcase. I will either have to find someone to cut down each of the tops, so the two bookcases can fit in the area or design some kind of modification to span the two inch space between the bookcases. They did offer to hold the bookcases and redo the top piece, but as the order was already late, their offer was too little too late.
