I had a great experience with Tiago and highly recommend him and his company. I wanted to change my front porch, rear deck, and side deck (360 sq. ft. in total) from wood to composite. Tiago gave me a very reasonable quote of $10K and 5 days of work by 2 people. Last year I had a Trex Platinum Pro contractor quote me $47K and four weeks to redo the same three decks from scratch (new frame and railing, trim and decking). On the other side of the range, before Tiago I worked with another contractor that offered to change just the decking, not the trim, for $6K in one day of work by three people. It quickly became apparent that the cheaper contractor did not know what they were doing - they did not know how to picture frame a deck, they were using a nail gun instead of screws, the boards were all wobbly and uneven - so we had to let them go before they did any more damage. Tiago offered to properly do the work that the other contractor mishandled. When he took off the old decking, he saw that some of the joists in the frame had rotted, and the railing posts were not attached correctly to the frame. But he was able to save us money by cutting out and replacing the rotten sections, and putting new railing posts in place, instead of having to redo the whole frame. The whole job ended up costing us $12.5K for six days of work. My wife and I are really happy with our new decks. I especially appreciate Tiago covering the joists in the frame with Zip System tape, the same kind that's used for house siding, to prevent further water damage. And I really liked how Tiago brought me receipts for everything he had to get from Home Depot, so that I could see for myself that he is not inflating the cost of materials. I think Great Choice Home Improvements are in that sweet spot where they know what they are doing, but they are not yet super overpriced. I would definitely use them again.
