When we closed on the house in August of last year there were multiple issues. They had used (according to the son of the owner) an old, defective condensate pump, which failed to work, and there was water all over the floor. They replaced the pump, but more issues appeared later on. There were ducts that were not properly connected, but the air conditioning system seemed to work ok otherwise. When it started to get cold in the fall it became clear that the heat pumps had not been installed correctly, and were missing sensors, and the gas furnaces were not working with the heat pumps as intended. Also the wrong thermostats were installed. It took literally months and an outside consultation with another company by me to get the real information about how the system should work to resolve the issues. The General Contractor had to withhold payments to get them to come back and correct all of the problems. There were several appointments when they either did not show or were very late. Also, one of the owners of the business was extremely combative with me. She said that she would help us by submitting paperwork to MassSave to help us get rebates (which were significant), but when the rebate never came I called and discovered that she had lied to me about submitting the paperwork. I texted her but no reply of course. This is a real nightmare of a company--stay away from them no matter how cheap they seem.
Description of Work: This company was hired by my general contractor as part of a major home renovation. The job was to install two Trance gas furnaces with heap pumps, including new ductwork throughout the home.

He was recommended by a friend of a friend. They were not professional and the quality is not good. We are still having problems having them come back and fix it. They were prompt in responding after the proposal. They showed up a week later than they were supposed to start and from then on it has been a nightmare. They promised a one year warranty service for free but it seems it is a year. They stopped responding to my phone calls.
Description of Work: They installed a central air conditioning system.

Glenn Marshall is the owner of this family run and operated business. Glenn promptly answered my call to get quote and we had him over and got a price within 3 days. He was very friendly, personable and reassuring that the job was pretty cut and dry and would be finished within 3-5 days. Unfortunately it's been over 2 month and I'm still waiting for him to come back to finish odds and ends initially for patching the plaster around a couple of the vents in my ceiling that he cut in as he promised he would. This was one of the reasons we had hired him. He had sold us on the fact that he is not like other HVAC companies as his company was accustomed to working in finished houses cleaning up and fixing any plaster that will likely be damaged during the installation. After about 24 hours we noticed that the house still wasn't down to the temp on the thermostat (72 degrees) and that the kitchen was still warm and humid. Vanessa Hackett (Glenn's daughter who is a licensed HVAC tech came that day to try to rectify the issue with no avail. Since then they have made appointments to come by four times and haven't called or shown up making my wife and 7 month old baby wait around for them. They also have a policy in the contract that requires them to fix any defects up to a year which is comical since I've been trying to get them back here for 2 months. I will update when necessary. I normally don't write reviews, good or bad, but I feel compelled to after being avoided for a month. My wife and I have tried contacting them every way possible without much success. We've left messages and didn't get a response for weeks until I wrote an email threatening legal action but then have been stood up twice. Also the inspector showed up and wouldn't sign off on the permit due to lack of insulation on the ductwork they installed. At this point, I couldn't recommend SuperHeat...and Cooling to my worst enemy. I have another tech coming by to figure out why my house is not getting cold and why my condenser is so loud. I will update as soon as I get a chance but will most likely be busy building a case against this company for damages and breaches of the contract as my lawyer has already got the ball rolling.

I couldn't be more ecstatic! First, a WOMAN came to take care of my furnace. That's a first and I was more than happy about it. She called me, because my plumber, who doesn't service forced hot-air furnaces called her. My plumber is THE BEST (See my comments about Donners Mechanical.), so that she was sent to me by that company is a huge recommendation. Why am I so happy? Well, as I walked her from her truck to my apartment in less than a minute, I had described the malfunction to her. In 10 seconds she suggested what the problem was, then she opened the furnace, pointed to the area that she was going to clean, and less than 5 minutes she was testing my furnace's ability to work properly at the thermostat to be sure it would turn on and stay on. Often technicians will lie about parts being broken and change parts that don't need to be changed, but what can you do? You have to believe them and pay -- or become a heating A/C technician. That's not happening here and I'm glad I don't have to do that. This woman is fabulous. I trust her to tell me the truth and to earn her pay honestly. I've asked her to return to service my furnace annually, which I have usually done, but in the past it's been an unpleasant experience. Another thing, this woman is personable, well-spoken, and charming. If you're a woman living alone, I'd highly recommend having this woman take care of your heating and air conditioning needs. Why have a strange man in your home when there's a competent woman who can do the job?
Description of Work: Diagnosed and fixed my furnace which was not heating my apartment
