It was really good. They were pretty prompt because we gave them a short notice to get the carpets installed. They were able to come in and do it fairly efficiently. They were in and out pretty quickly. Their prices were really good too. In terms of their punctuality, I had to call them several times.

Started on time. Stuck with the job. Minor details (installation of towel racks, etc) and painting to be completed next week. Said the job should take 3-6 weeks and looks like it will be completed in 3.5 weeks. Highly recommend Nick. Excellent work product and work ethic.
Description of Work: Work effected three bedrooms. Moved closet in Bedroom 1. Added full bath where closet was to Bedroom 2 and removed wall between Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3, making one big room.

Nick was always very quick to get back to me and he is such a nice guy to work with. Though we didn't hire him to do any carpentry work, he gave us a lot of suggestion and recommended a good contractor to us. Thanks a lot, Nick !

This was our fourth project on our 110 year old floor-thru condo and by far, Nick was the best contractor we worked with so far. The pantry project was something we had planned for a long time but never found the right contractor. What makes him special is that he is a business person first and a contractor second. He understands the need to effectively commuicate the state of the project, how to keep his clients informed and how to set expectations. For example, in the middle of the project, he communicated via email and voicemail that he was not going to be on-site the following day. He is the first contractor to effectively use a blackberry and I can't be more impressed. From start to finish, he said what he did, and did what he said. He was reliable and dependable - told us when he would be coming to the house and was never late, met his start date (which for us was about 4 weeks after we decided to engage him) and finised on time, on budget and was willing to do some extra stuff as the project proceeded. So, is he really this good? Yes he is. I'd recommend him and we already have Nick lined up to help with some additional custom woodworking and renovations for March.
Description of Work: We asked Nick to help us expand a kitchen pantry from a single 30in door to 2x24in doors. This included installing a new header, cutting through a wall of subway tile, demo of the existing shelves in the pantry and some custom molding work.
For those who like things short and sweet: Nick does excellent work at a very reasonable price. He shows up when he says he will. He takes your calls. He's a straight shooter, a very hard worker, and an upright person. Every time I wrote a check to Nick, I knew EXACTLY what I was paying for, and that it was FULLY earned. We will definitely hire Nick again. For those who like details: Nick is an intelligent professional with great technical skills and pride in his work. He chooses his subcontractors carefully and somehow manages to coordinate them so that everything happens smoothly and in an order that makes sense. He communicates clearly, quickly, and with respect. All the qualities you should be able to expect in a contractor -- Nick has them. So I have the luxury of commenting on a more intangible quality I think is very special about Nick. In addition to all his other skills, Nick's unflappable manner has been unbelievably important to us. Through the course of this project we hit several snags (all unrelated to Nick), and he didn't just put up with them, he HELPED us deal with them. If you have remodeled before, you can imagine what a relief it would be to have your contractor actively working with you when the unexpected happens. When the Inspection Department needed changes to our drawings--right when our architect was leaving town for three weeks--Nick helped us research and plan the changes, and then juggled his schedule so he could be available when we were ready to restart the project. When we needed to reposition a closet, Nick patiently worked out dimensions with us to utilize the space as efficiently as possible. When we wanted the floor laid differently, Nick figured out how to take up and re-lay the needed section with the minimum of damage. When he had to start another project partway through ours (because ours had been delayed while we waited to make changes to the drawings), he worked double shifts and weekends to keep things going for us. He was so obviously dedicated to getting the project done to our complete satisfaction. I should mention that I called all 5 of the references Nick provided (the first three because I always call three, and the last two just because I was hearing such good stuff). The comment I heard over and over was, "In a few years, Nick will be one of the most sought-after contractors in the area. You are getting a real bargain, working with him now." I have to agree.
Description of Work: We remodeled our finished basement to fit our needs. This involved demolishing two interior walls and reframing to create two bedrooms with closets. We also had to install egress windows from each bedroom, which involved having holes cut in the foundation, installing emergency egress wells to the outside of the house and putting windows in from the inside. Nick did the demolition and framing, brought in an electrician and plumber to deal with rewiring and re-arranging of baseboard heaters, a landscaping company to do the excavation for the egress wells, a concrete cutting firm to cut the foundation, and a plasterer to finish the new walls and tie into the old. After the rough work was done, Nick did the finish work including installation of the new windows, laying laminate flooring through the entire space, and installing doors, baseboard, and molding throughout.

Nick made the experience seemless. We could not have had a better contractor. He was extremely reasonably priced, wanted to make it match our needs to a T, was very clear about the schedule, and followed through every step of the way. We purchased some of the cabinets ourselves and he agreed to install them. When a couple of the shelves were the wrong color, he agreed to come back even after the job was done just to finish that small piece of the job. He was honest, friendly, extremely professional and brought in excellent subcontractors. He was outstanding!
Description of Work: We had our basement finished - including walls, floors, cabinetry.

Though I didn't end up using him for the job (he was busy during the time I needed it done), I would use this him in the future. He answered the phone when I called (or called back promptly), was honest with time estimates and acted very professional. Very nice guy.

I liked the guy who came out to get the work done, as he was willing to listen to suggestions by my son-in-law who lives downstairs and is an architect. The price charged by him was good and he did everything accurately. Everything looked beautiful at the end. He also worked on my back porch which was not in the best of shape. He was excellent and is young.

Nick not only provided the best quote but was the most professional carpenter we dealt with in terms of promptly responding to calls, arriving on time, and working with us on what we wanted to accomplish. Nick built and installed a beautiful mantel/surround for our fireplace based on some pictures we showed him, and repaired some damage from the previous fireplace demo (done by someone else). He also did an excellent job installing crown moulding on the almost the entire first floor of our house. Nick was consistently professional and flexible with changes. The work took about a day longer than originally estimated, but he stuck with his original quote. Would highly recommend NJ Rossi Construction.

Description of Work: Nick did different home improvement projects and repairs, from reinsurlating some walls to drilling access holes to installing shelving and cabinets in our laundry area. We also asked Nick to install outdoor railings for our mother-in-law. The work was timely and well done. We recommend Nick to anyone who needs carpentry services.

great.
Description of Work: I hired Nick to Finish my attic, the only down side was that because of my budget I was not going to be able to do all the work at once. I had to do it in a couple of phases. Nick and I decided to get the rough framing under way first. This required framing two long walls down the length of the whole house as well as framing two closets on either side of the room. Another detail that we added was an air conditioning unit. Nick had to cut a hole in the side of the house to install the unit as opposed to installing it in a window. It came out great. Because there was no direct window access, Nick had to bring all the required material up three flights of stairs to the attic, which was a huge undertaking. Nick worked closely with me keeping all of my budget concerns in mind. So far the attic has come out fantastic. Nick said he had no problem waiting until I have the money to get the electrical and drywall work done, when this is completed I can bring him back to finish all the trim work. I look forward to working with Nick on the next phase of this project.

Went great, highly recommend. We've had him come back to the office for smaller jobs since the big job mentioned above, and he has continued the good work.
Description of Work: Removed half of a wall adjacent to staircase to allow for better flow from the main floor of our office into the basement. He capped the half-wall off with a hand-made wood cap, looks great. Studded the walls in the basement, insulated them, and installed a drop-ceiling. All of the work was done quicky and professionally. The owner Nick showed off his carpentry skills during the work. I asked him where he learned from and he said he's been doing this stuff ever since he was a kid and recently spent a year working in a carpentry shop building custom doors, cabinets, etc. He was very knowledgeable about the best methods to perform the work we wanted done. We actually took some of his ideas and the re-finished basement looks a lot better because of it. We would highly recommend him, nice kid very passionate about the work he is doing. Get him while he's still cheap!

Fantastic. Prior to this remodel, our kitchen was as ugly and inefficient as they come. Now, its the centerpiece of our home. Most importantly, the transformation was effortless (on our part) thanks to Nick's skill and professionalism. Over the course of the month-long project, it was clear that Nick had a day-by-day plan in mind from the outset, and he stuck to it precisely, even taking into account the inevitable setbacks. Nick was responsive to all of our concerns, and from the get-go, inspired a great deal of confidence. We trusted his judgment on issues big and small, and his knowledge and insight on topics ranging from ceiling height to the type of flooring to use were invaluable. The most defining characteristic of his work was his cleanliness. We would come home from work each day, and simply be stunned that the amount of progress left such little mess. He took precautions to confine dust and debris to his work area (sparing the rest of our house) and meticulously swept up at the end of each day. Our kitchen looks tremendous, and we will never take for granted the effort and skill that went into it. We look forward to hiring Nick again for another project soon.
Description of Work: We remodeled a 1950's kitchen from top to bottom. Nick assisted with the design, and did all of the carpentry, including demolition, installation of the cabinets, windows, and hardwood floor, framing, and detailed trim work. He was also invaluable in recruiting and organizing other contractors, such as the electrician, plumber, and drywall installer.
