The house looks wonderful. They did a great job.

They were professional in reviewing the work, they provided a written and detailed estimate of the costs that reflected the work needed, the price was reasonable and they were flexible regarding scheduling the work to be done. Once a final date was set, they arrived on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. The work was done exactly as required without a drop out of place. They were neat and respectful and left the apartment exactly as they found it, except it was now beautifully painted!

The front of the house was mostly well-prepped, but the new boards CertaPro installed were raw wood, not pre-primed, and not enough paint was applied, so the paint job looked uneven. The other sides of the house were not adequately scraped or sanded and, in some cases, not scraped or sanded at all. In several sections, rotten wood was painted over instead of repaired or replaced. They also painted 10 windows shut, broke one storm window, and reinstalled two storm windows backwards so they could not be opened from the inside. The paint was cracking and flaking off within days of the job's completion, and popping and peeling off in patches less than six months later. The franchise owner was dismissive of our concerns. He eventually agreed to send a crew over to address some of the issues, but then delayed for nearly six more months until the weather conditions became unfavorable for painting. The problems still have not been addressed.

It went terribly. The crew supervisor showed up first thing in the morning and at end of day. The workers spoke no English. The prep work on the windows was minimal and looked as though nothing had been done. The supervisor eventually came and did the reprep himself. They spray painted the trim on the windows, missing many small areas. I emailed the owner Steve Buttrick after day 3 telling him that the prep work was totally unsatisfactory, and received no response from him.I telephoned the crew manager there were several areas of trim and windows frames visible to me at ground level where there had been little sanding, and there was still peeling paint and bare wood. He assured me they would be redone the next day, but the next morning his crew started spray painting. We again called the supervisor to come look at the lack of scraping and caulking on the windows and trim. They redid it, but still missed many areas. Eventually the supervisor came on a Saturday and did the windows over again. I can't imagine what the prep work looked like on the areas not visible from ground level. There was a rotted board noted by the person who gave the initial evaluation and estimate that was ignored by the carpenter and was painted over. When we noted this and informed the crew supervisor, it was repaired and then painted. When they took the storm windows down, they put them in the dirt on the side of the house so that when they were rehung they were filthy. I had to hire someone to wash the windows after they left. . I have owned houses in Massachusetts for over 40 years and this was the worst paint job I have ever had done. The workers, the crew supervisor and owner of the local franchise showed no concern over the work done. Their only interest was finishing quickly and getting paid. Quality was not in their vocabulary.

Francisco Zomer and his team from Certa Pro arrived right on time daily. They worked from 8 to 6 or later each day to make sure they completed each stage of the job on time. These men know their trade and did a wonderful job.At the end of each day they cleaned up..thoroughly and were considerate of the homeowner's property. Steve Buttrick, the owner of the company in Needham was stellar! He came out to the house assess the work, took photos, wrote out an itemized company estimate ..and gave me a print-out right then and there on the pc. All in all...I had an EXCELLENT experience and would not hesitate to call Steve again and request Francisco Zomer as painter for the job. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thank you Certa Pro/Needham,MA.

BE VERY AWARE ABOUT THIS COMPANY! BAD JOB! NO WARRANTY AND NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WORK THEY PERFORM! We hired them based on good reviews from Angies list, but it was the biggest mistake we ever done! We hired the company, owned by Morris Mark, the local sales representative for Massachusetts area, after 1 year the whole exterior paint started to peel off. We contacted Morris by then and he said that he was no longer with certa pro and that he sold the franchise to Steve Buttrick. After many contacts, Steve finally came to visit my house w/o my presence and then mentioned that the fault was mine because of the humidity on the wall, that probably was caused by the severe winter. I am sure this was not my fault because I had the roof and gutters cleaned but he didn't want a hear and said that if I was not happy I could go to court! Important to mention that certa pro has a 2 year warranty and nothing is mentioned about severe snow conditions. And would you hire a company in MA that does not guarantee your painting against a severe snow and cold temperatures? Go paint houses in Florida then ! Not convinced of his answer I tried to contact Certa Pro master franchiser. No answer from then, just sent me back to treat with the same person, Steve. This time he booked a visit with me to fo a new inspection at my house and took several samples of the painting and sent to Sherwin Williiam for evaluation. After 2 weeks, I had to call them again, and he mentioned to my surprise that the fault was mine, AGAIN! Attaching a technical valuation the result was that the previous paint was not properly scraped and the adhesive coating used was not the best one for the job. I don't understand how the fault could be mine! But schockingly he tries to convince me that he only has a liability where he scraped the paint to the wood! I am definitely going to court, this company is a total lame! Be awared!

Excellent experience for start to finish. Steve arrived on agreed upon time, gave a thorough evaluation and very reasonable estimate. The job started 2 days earlier than anticipated. The workmen performed a walk-around with me on the first day. The job went very well, looks great and we are very pleased. Will definitely recommend as well as use in the future.

When I reached out to CertaPro, it was because of Angie's List and the reviews. Erik was attentive, polite and professional. He was punctual to the appointment scheduled and even followed-up several times to ensure confirmation. The pricing came in lower than others quoted and could be completed in 3 days, perfect for our timeline. All seemed to be aligned. Now the dirty details: The cut lines were not great, even after asking the foreman to clean them up by pointing them out, they were not acceptable. I had to do several touch up spots throughout the house that I wouldn't expect from a professional painting company. The 3-day completion was impressive, but coming back to a leaking can of paint in the house was not acceptable. There was discussion about having the team start a couple days earlier, which would have been fine and needed to check with another contractor that was working in the house to ensure no one was stepping on toes and could get their work done without issues. I was able to negotiate with the other contractor to have the painters start a day early, which was articulated to Erik and then radio silence. Only to receive a phone message that he was at the house with the foreman walking through because it was the most convenient time to do it. I would have appreciated walking through with Erik and the foreman. It was just coincidence that I was at the house after they were there (marking things to paint) and before they started the job where I noticed things are not marked accurately. I called Erik frantically and frustrated, he was at the house in less than 10mns to walk through it all again, picking up on a few previously discussed items for clarity, which was appreciated. I felt better about it and thought we were all on the same page. If I hadn't been at the house prior to the foreman beginning to paint, it would have been incorrect and even after I corrected the mistakes, there were still errors found during the final walkthrough which was transcribed to Erik on desired services to paint, etc. Ultimately, I felt as though there were too many cooks in the kitchen; me telling Erik, Erik telling the foreman, etc. It was frustrating to come back into the house for the final walk through to find doors specifically requested to be painted not painted, etc. There was one that the foreman fixed and the other two I just told him to forget about redoing because it was just so frustrating and I wanted it to be done. There were several times where iterations of the order from Erik needed to be corrected based on email conversations that were not captured. I felt as though I had to triple check the work and even received an original order after several versions of changes were made. it would be helpful if they were numbered by a dash, based on iterations/changes, although I shouldn't have to go through with a fine tooth comb each time it was received to ensure it's accuracy. I ultimately felt as though there was a lot of hand holding and correcting. I was very impressed with the initial price quoted and time frame promised, but found that after iterations of changes originally described in the walk through were not captured and then had to be added in later, slowly brought up the price to be one of the more expensive quotes received. After the walk through (that I was not included in on) between Erik and the foreman they recommended that trim in the bedrooms be painted (though not originally quoted) because the previous painters cut lines weren't great and we would see the original paint color. I agreed and trusted that if they caught the previous painters cut lines and thought them unacceptable would delivered high quality to these and it was the opposite, which is why I was ultimately so disappointed. Calling out and then adding on services that ultimately brought up the price and then didn't come through with the expected level described, was frustrating. In addition, one of the rooms with the smallest amount of wall space (due to windows, 2 doorways, etc) was the most expensive, oddly. When I inquired it was due not only to the size, but also to the work that would need to be done to the wall, sanding, etc in preparation as well as the cutting lines and prep?didn't seem to be done and or justifying of the price. Overall, a less than ideal experience and would not use them again or recommend.

The crew was very polite and attentive; they did a great job of preparing the house (scraping, etc) and were very neat.

They did an excellent job and they did the work in a week. We were very happy with the service.

I requested an estimate via Angie's list, and Eric responded right away and scheduled a time to come out for the estimate. He was punctual and professional and provided his estimate before he left. I also asked him to estimate the cost of staining a wood fence that we were thinking of buying and he was able to provide good information for us to consider in staining and maintaining the fence, timing and weather impact (it would be installed in the winter). We ended up getting a vinyl fence and had the painting done by another contractor we were already working with, but I was pleased with his quote and felt he seemed knowledgeable and experienced. I would definitely contact them again for future painting needs.

They are painting company, painter of garage. They are so far, so good and are always in car wash before and they replace the piece of wood. They did a good job on replacing the piece of wood that was rotten on the automotive last thing. They came yesterday. I have a neighbor and had it about $1600. The estimate was I do not know. Since they will do the garage door, and I think they will paint it, also we got a new door and have to paint it. Well, it is power washing so far. Depending on how the work comes out. I know they did a good job for replacement on piece of wood. The power washing is power washing, so, their work is success throughout our place and to my neighbor’s yard when had they said they were going to drape. My husband discussed that with them but the paint was nice. I do not know. We will see. If the paint is well, I will be happy enough.

Overall, the work from the crews was actually pretty good. They were punctual and Professional and cleaned up after each day and the paint job was fine- They used a good crew but it is evident from reading these posts that they have crews that are not good- I had Nico and he was pretty good.. The Professionalism and overall rating is a direct reflection on Steve. Classic bait and switch from CertaPro, Steve provided a quote, there was some back and forth negotiations and a final agreed up price. I took advantage of the financing offer that Certa Pro offered but the amount financed from the bank was more than the final cost of the job. I talked to Steve and Knikki (Steve's assistant) about this discrepancy and asked it would be a problem and they said they will cut a check for the difference that i can use towards the loan amount- seems pretty straighforward, right? Not so fast, I get an email today from Knikki (Steve was cc:d) saying that a check will be cut but it will be for $50 less than the final agreed upon amount because of the amount CertaPro gets charged interest from the bank to use the service. No apologies, nothing. Very matter of fact. They never mentioned to me that this was going to happen and let me know if that is ok. This is not about the $50, i really could care less but it is about professionalism and honoring what you put in your contract. As i said in the email to Steve, What CertaPro and the bank have negotiated is not my problem, i did not expect to get charged extra for a service they provided- FUTURE CUSTOMERS BE WARNED! As i also said to Steve in the email, I am an Angie's list customer i should have recieved $200 off exterior painting as customer (i had to print out the coupon and present it to him), but i was unaware until it was too late- my bad and my responsibility. But i did not press him for the extra money off because it was my responsibility and i would go back to someone and ask for money back that i should have recieved since when it was my responsiblity in the 1st place- sound familiar Steve? What a terrible way to run a business and ruin customer satisfaction, all for $50 or less than 1% of the final cost of the project. Keep the money Steve, very cordial in the beginning but a very good salesman and classic bait and switch tactic at the end. Btw- I have used CertaPro before and had future painting work inside to do that i was going to ask them to bid on, but this experience ruined it. Have the email chain from Knikki about the Enerbank form to prove it in case Steve said i am lying. Also, i take the time to write reviews about my positive and negative experience and this is the 1st negative experience i have had.

Not well-- The only reason to use this contractor is for the financing

They did an excellent job with the painting. They worked with us in identifying the paints and were meticulous with the work. We decided to change colors in one of the areas in the room and they did not complain! They were punctual, worked hard and were friendly and courteous. They also came back to fix-up and touch-up when we spotted some areas - after we'd already paid them. We would recommend them and their services.

We were managing this painting project remotely from out-of-state. Morris, the owner, was extremely helpful, responsive, and professional in working with us. He was very flexible which allowed us to have this work done with minimal stress. The quality of the work was great and we are very happy with the results. It was a great experience working with him and we would definitely use him again in the future and reccomend him highly.

I am happy with the job they did. Morris, the local franchise owner, and Falcon, the head painter, are both professional, courteous, punctual, and excellent communicators. Before the job started, they made an extra trip at my request to explain the techniques to be used in repairing the larger cracks. They gave the answer I was looking for, so I hired them. Falcon's work was precise and speedy (he finished in 1 long day instead of 2), and he cleaned up meticulously. There wasn't a spec of stray paint anywhere. I rate 4 out of 5 on quality because of fairly minor issues: the patch to the ceiling is slightly raised & casts a shadow in certain light; a small divot at corner of wall and ceiling wasn't filled, and the windows were painted shut (I freed them easily by sliding a utility blade along the edges, but the paint flaked off in a few spots). Overall, the bedroom & bath look wonderful and I plan to hire them again to do 4 additional rooms.

They did an excellent job with the painting and charged a competitive price. They even took care of some staining on our roof's asphalt shingles which saved us a considerable amount of money.

The process was about as painless as it could possibly be. The crew showed up on time and worked until the job was finished. They were courteous, capable and cleaned up after themselves. When I pointed out a few small spots I wanted to have touched up, they did the work promptly. Overall the job was very professional and the house looks beautiful. Several days after the job was completed, I saw the crew chief doing some work on a neighbor's house and said hello. He came over to make sure everything was perfect. We'd had a storm that had blown some wet leaves up against the white porch trim and left a water stain. I asked him if the best way to clean it up was with soap and water?he said don't worry about it, and repainted the stained area on the spot! This is how house painting should be done!
