The job went very well, and the price was reasonable. Isaac was very responsive and responsible, and the floors came out beautiful.

The job went great. Isaac was very responsive via text/phone, and was able to squeeze my job into his schedule much sooner than the other companies I received quotes from. The job was finished about two months ago and we're still happy with the results!

Our home was recovering from burst water pipes which provoked the replacement of all the hardwood flooring on our first floor. We had to install new oak flooring, stain and refinish. The initial contractor really botched the job, was given the opportunity to fix it, but essentially just left us with a really bad job, our flooring budget depleted and with brand new floors that were visually unappealing. We had several additional flooring companies come in to evaluate a " fix". We had some tell us that a " redo" of the top finish layer may make the floors acceptable and we had some tell us that we had to start over and sand to the bare wood. Troy Hardwoods was the last to evaluate and we have to say what impressed us the most was their total knowledge demonstrated about the wood, the install, the pattern of the laid boards, staining (which is an art), the process of sanding and using the right grits (also an art), the preparation, the products used. They were willing to work with us, offered us both options to " fix", but made it an easy decision for us to know the right course to choose. It was their attention to every detail of the process and the way they expressed it in their evaluation discussion, with us, as well as the education they provided to us on hardwood flooring. When they left during that brief visit to evaluate our flooring " fix" we were confident that we would get a quality job from them, one that we'd be happy with. Their pricing was very reasonable, not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but that really wasn't our deciding factor. During the job (and we decided to start over and sand to the bare wood), they continued to talk us through the process, what they were finding and fixing, what they were doing and why, it was reassuring that we had hired the right contractor. They were very considerate of our home, our family and always cleaned up after themselves. They were flexible in working time and always stayed until the job was done. They even helped us move some heavy appliances around. The re-refinished floors came out wonderful, so much so, that we really didn't appreciate how bad a job the first contractor had done until we saw what Troy Hardwoods did for us. When we do our next hardwood flooring project, we'll be calling them again, FIRST.

Isaac Troy seemed like a sincere, honest and knowledgeable person, which led me to hire him in the first place. He gave me good advice about the brand of prefinished hardwood to buy, but left the choice up to me, and allowed me to purchase the flooring directly from the retailer. With his crew, he worked hard to install the prefinished flooring in the entire second floor of my house, followed by sanding and refinishing of all the floors on the first floor. With the heavy snowfall, which hampered work for a few days, they were in our house for about 24 days. I got to know Isaac and his crew well, and all of them are friendly and respectful individuals who take pride in their work. We had no problems leaving our house to them while they did their job. Their installation was flawless. The refinishing work was done with skill. The price was perfect. They cleaned up after they left, and delivered more than they had contracted for. They helped move furniture, fix the bottom of a door that was scraping against the floor and do some retouching of the baseboards. Isaac Troy is a perfectionist, and does everything to keep his customers satisfied.

We moved into our home on November 8th knowing that all of the floors would need significant work. Isaac began his work within 2 days of our moving in and worked with us so that we were able to live in our home during the renovations. The job was a very dirty one in that the floors had previously been treated with tongue oil. Isaac went above and beyond to minimize the intrusiveness of his work, and as a result ,we were able to make the most of a very difficult living situation. Isaac was cooperative and professional with not only us, but also with all of the other contractors i.e. painter, plumber, electrician, etc. we employed. He followed through in a timely way with all that he told us he would do. The quality of his workmanship is outstanding, and the finished product has surpassed our expectations! We would gladly employ him again!

My experience with troy hardwoods could not have gone any better.Isaac showed up on time and was very profesional and courteous,the same goes for the guys that work with him.I needed roughly 1500 square feet of floor fefinished and isaac made the process painless.The guys worked around my schedule and my 10 month old baby girl.the outcome is amazing!!

Troy Hardwood refinished my hardwood floors in our master bedroom. He was very quick to get back to us and squeezed us in quickly to assist with the showing of our home in the best possible light. Highly recommended.

Isaac can be a bit hard to reach. But once he has your phone number he ALWAYS calls you back. He and his crew did a VERY DIFFICULT installation of a 'glue down' red oak floor over a conrete slab. Glue downs themselves are not all that hard... just time consuming. This came at the end of a rennovation of an old house which will be new to us. Isaac found old tile that had to be torn up. Once that was up, he needed to 'sand' the old glue off the floor. Once he got the concrete slab exposed he CAREFULLY repaired all the cracks which had appeared over time. This wa all PREP work. If the base is not correct, the end product will not be correct. It did take more time than expected, but was WELL WORTH the wait. The finish is GORGEOUS! He was careful with his work. Cleaned up after himself. Disposed of his trash...All the things a homeowner REALLY apprecaites along with a job WELL DONE! I am sure we (he) will recieve compliments for MANY years for this floor. It is truly beautiful. I am so glad we had him install our floor. We know he cares enough to do the job correctly the first time. We HIGHLY recommend him!

I had an appointment at 8:30am on 10/09/14 with Isaac to look over the job. He never showed, and then he called with an excuse at about 1:00pm. The message was "garbled" and I did not understand it. I have tried to call Isaac twice, both times his "mailbox was full". When I attempted to email him I got an error message. I would not use his services, and I can not recommend him to others.

They did am amazing job. The floors are flawless. Isaac was very responsive and able to meet our VERY tight timeline ( even with a newborn at home) I'd recommend Troy hardwoods again and again. We will call them back if we need any other flooring projects in our home.

Isaac Troy was very professional and honest. During the quoting process he was very up-front with what he saw as challanges and what to expect afterwards. All the work was done while we were out of the house and when we returned, the floors far and away beat our expectations. Knowing how dusty this process is (I've refinished floors in some of my earlier homes), we have found the house to be virtually wood dust free. Like all big home projects, things can happen that effect the time or amount of work needed. This project was no exception, even though Isaac was very fair and honest about the time frame, things happened beyond his control and he was diligent in holding the schedule while maintaining his high level of quality. In addition, there was one very small area with an issue and he returned to fix it. We suggest that on a project this size be flexible with the timeline. Fortunately for us, we were able to give Issac the extra time he needed. Do plan for an extra day or two, the final result will be better than you expected. Job well done.

Isaac and his crew did an excellent job refinishing our hardwood floors. Isaac came out for a quote the same day that I called him. His price was competitive compared to other quotes we received. We had a very tight deadline as there were only 2 weeks between meeting Isaac for a quote and needing to move into the home. Although he was very busy, he finished the work on time and far exceeded our expectations. The floors look incredible. Isaac and his crew were extremely respectful and professional. He kept me in the loop daily as the job was going on as to when he would be coming and going from the house. I plan on hiring Isaac again to refinish our kitchen floor after the kitchen is renovated. I highly highly recommend Troy hardwoods.

Isaac and his crew did a great job. They were very efficient and hardworking and the floors turned out great. The transition between old/new hardwoods is imperceptible after everything was sanded and finished.

Isaac was fantastic. He did an amazing job, my floors look brand new. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. You can tell that he takes pride in his work. He fixed any issues that I had with my floors (nails, etc) before working and made sure he didn't leave a huge mess. His dust free system is amazingly clean!

Troy Hardwoods was very professional and thorough. Isaac and his brother spent 30-45 minutes with me and were very dililgent in determining what the existing flooring situation was. I have an old house with three different types of flooring in these three rooms. We were not sure what was under any of the floors - there could be multiple layers of flooring or a need for a plywood subfloor to be installed. If I had used them, I think their estimate would have been very solid because they took the time to thoroughly investigate the current flooring situation and would not have encountered any unexpected situations which would result in added cost to me. Both gentlemen were very pleasant to deal with and Isaac was very cost conscious. He offered to let me pay for the flooring directly so that I could use a credit card and he asked for the opportunity to match any competitors' bids. I felt very comfortable with Troy Hardwoods and would have used them for my job except that I personally knew the provider I ultimately selected. I recommend Troy Hardwoods without hesitation and felt confident that they would have done a great job!

Isaac was a consummate professional from quote to completion, not to mention easy to talk to and very personable. He kept us in the loop at all times and communicated every aspect of the job along the way. We admittedly had a very tight window to work in, as we were in between homes after purchasing our new home, and Isaac was very accommodating with us, even over the Thanksgiving holiday. He was able to rearrange his schedule to make sure that we were able to move in on time. The home was built in 1900 and has wide plank pine floors and over 1,200 "cut nails" that he and his crew had to contend with, but they recessed every nail in order to ensure a smooth job. Isaac asked a lot of questions along the way to really make sure that we were happy with both the level of service and quality of the work. He was obviously committed to doing the very best job he could and it showed. Rather than go around radiators and overlook closets, he and his crew moved 3 old cast iron radiators and navigated old, shallow and long closets to get the job done right. When all was said and done, we were ecstatic with the results. Visitors to the home can't stop talking about how great they look and my wife commented that they feel like furniture. We have no hesitation recommending Isaac and his crew and look forward to working with them again.

I couldn't be happier with the work that was performed. The hardwoods look amazing and everything was done the "right" way. He removed the baseboards in our living room and den, and put them back when he was done. One baseboard was damaged by the previous homeowner, so we had bought a new one, unfinished. Troy Hardwoods offered to stain it for us free of charge so he could install it himself and finish the job. It came out great! He also put a picture frame around our fireplace, which came out fantastic, and fixed a few minor things from the previous homeowners. I was also pleased not to have to rip up the carpets! His quote for carpet removal was MUCH better than the previous quotes we got. They also worked extremely quickly and cleaned up well after they left. Highly recommend!!!

I called to get an estimate based on other Angies list reviews. Issac showed up on time for the estimate and looked over the job in detail and presented as a person that cares about his work. He also advised about companies that sell the wood and explained pre-finished versus unfinished pros and cons. We could have got the installation done for slightly less money, but decided to go with Troy because we felt that the quality of his work would be superior to other less expensive installers. I bought the wood and paper and staples. I also, removed the old carpeting before they arrived. So, Troy was literally doing just the labor of the installation. As planned, they showed up late in the day to do some preparation. Then the following day came with a crew of 4 and did the installation. The job was completed on time. The crew was respectful of the property. The floors look great.

It went wonderfully. Isaac and team arrived at the appointed time and worked late in order to get our floors done on time because we had a short window of time until we had to move in. We would recommend Troy Hardwoods to anyone who wants a good experience with installation or repair of hardwood flooring in their home. We are so happy with Troy hardwoods work that we are having them come back in a few weeks to do another area of our home.
