It went very well. Chris came out quickly for an estimate and was able to get started fairly soon after. He left the house clean every night and was great to talk to when we crossed paths during the project.

Contacted Central Mass Handyman the end of January. I was emailed back promptly and Chris came over on January 31, 2013 as promised. We went over the details of my planned bathroom renovation. He had good ideas and very personable. He left and told me I would have a quote in 3 or 4 days. I emailed back on February 10th saying I have not yet received a quote, any updates? I then received an email back that we will be on vacation until 2/18. After still not hearing back I contacted Chris on the phone on the 22nd. He apologized for not getting me a quote yet but I will have something by the end of the weekend. On 2/27 I emailed back again asking for an update. His wife emailed back saying she would speak with him when he gets home and he or he will get back to me. Fast forward to today 3/30 and have yet to hear back. I have moved on, not sure if Central Mass Handyman is still in business, hopefully nothing happend to Chris a very nice guy, but just wanted to share my experience.

Chris did a great job with a whole range of carpentry requests. The majority of the work was putting up crown molding in our oddly-shaped Victorian home. Every room that he did turned out looking fantastic. When we went through the job, he explained he could do more molding work in the time allotted, so we went ahead and did a large living room; I appreciated his honesty about taking on more work within the "Big Deal" set price. He also completed some carpentry work on a dining room wall and a kitchen cabinet that a previous contractor had left uncompleted--he fixed all of the problems and made everything look like new. He and his partner worked vary fast and did very high quality work.

Central Mass Handyman was punctual arriving on the job. His carpentry was excellent and our structure looks solid and very nicely made.

This is hard to do because Chris' work is good and his prices are reasonable. The problem was punctuality and timing. He did some work and then kept putting me off and not showing up when he said he would. As a result, scraped surfaces that were to be painted took a heck of a lot of water during a rainy fall. Also, there was some confusion with payment with Paypal and so forth. I paid using Paypal, then Chris asked me when I was going to pay, when his wife, who schedules him often, already knew I had paid. Anyway, the work was good. So I overlooked all the negative stuff and called Chris recently, about two weeks ago, when my old garage door broke down in the middle of winter. Chris' wife emailed me that he would be over to check it out the next day. There was some bad weather and he didn't show. The next day there was another excuse. Then another. Finally, when I complained, Chris' wife, Terry, apologized, sort of. To be fair, in my first encounter with Chris, they cut me a discount on some additional work because I was dissatisfied with the service. I should stress again, however, that the work was acceptable-plus.

Job started and ended on time and the work was done to my full satisfaction. Chris and his assistant arrived promptly and to my amazement were finish in one day. I was completely satisfied with his work and will continue to use Central Mass Handyman in the future.

He worked on everything from the gutters to the shutters outside and put in a pass through window in the kitchen. He also replaced window squares in the basement. He worked really hard and was flexible with what I requested to have done.

It was a great experience. The owner gave us excellent advise on how to achieve our objectives at the most reasonable cost. He and his partner worked very hard to complete the job in a timely manner. It involved some demolition, wall work and flooring, and all were done to our satisfaction.I would gladly hire them again.

shutdown furnace had the computer board damaged; the automatic shutdow never worked.

I contacted Central MA Handyman for some emergency house repairs. He came to my house the next morning, within ten hours, made the emergency repairs, and returned a few days later to do the complete repairs. I was very satisfied, and am planning to use him for typical handyman tasks in the future.

The deck was in need of repair badly. After 2 short discussions and a trip to the store we left Chris to work. In two days the job was Done, the debris gone and the yard clean. We are planning on having him do other work around here.

We knew the tile around our tub needed regrouting, but when the grab bar pulled completely out of the wall, we realized we had more water behind there than we had thought. We also had several other projects around the house that we hadn't gotten around to. After reading a lot of great reviews for Central Mass. Handyman, we decided to purchase the 20-hour special in mid-September. Chris came over for a consultation shortly after the purchase, took a look at our list of projects, and estimated which ones he could get done in the amount of time we had purchased: the tub surround, install a new bathroom sink, install a new towel bar, paint our backyard shed, and the slider door repair. Chris had recommended we choose larger tiles for the tub -- 12x12 or even 20x20 -- but the ones we found and liked were 8x10. Fast-forward to mid-November (the tile we chose took that long to come in!) We made the appointment with Tracy, and Chris and his assistant showed up right on time. They were able to remove the tiles and plaster with a minimal amount of dust in that area of the house. However, because the tile we had chosen was smaller than the size he had recommended and based his time estimate on, and because we decided to replace the valve and fixtures with new ones, it took longer to do that part, and they ended up being there for about 12 hours that day. They came back the next morning to grout and take care of a couple other things. They installed the bathroom sink and fixed the slider door. We paid them for the difference in time. Since two months had passed since he had made his original list, the weather had gotten too cold to paint the shed, which was fine. We will be scheduling more time with Chris at some point in the near future to do more trim work in the bathroom (wainscotting, towel bar, etc.) and would definitely consider using him for other projects. The quality of their work, from tiling to plumbing, was fantastic!

We scheduled the work, paid through paypal and the work was performed. We were looking to close in a loft area. Chris came out, gave us an estimate and talked us through several options. He was very easy to talk to, performed a very good job, and was punctual. He worked the entire time he was here and was very clean. Having a house with thre kids, we were concerned about the mess. Chris and his crew kept things very tidy. I strongly recommend Chris fo future jobs.

The no showed for our first appointment appointment and then when I tried to reschedule they weren’t available. When I tried to reschedule again I got an email from them to let me know they had some illness in the family which I understand. But, I expected them to reach out and let me know what to expect or when they could begin work. Unless I was contacting them they made no attempt to contact me. After 6 weeks we still have made no progress on this work. They've made no attempt to try to get out here or even to go over what I wanted them to do. They were very very unresponsive. Consequently, I am requesting a refund through Angie's List.

Chris created a bar/entertainment space which included new lighting, installing mounted tv and surround sound system, adding on to an existing bar, created a back cabinet, installing a floor, and installing a drop ceiling over the space. The project required a lot of customizing and it was expertly finished. Chris pays extra attention to detail and doing the job the right way. It came out better than I imagined. I will definitely consider Chris for future projects.

The work was never done due to lack of response from the company. Update: 10/22/2012: I did not receive an automatic email response from this provider. If I had received it, I would not have posted this review.

This is a very mixed review. The Brusas were very prompt in corresponding with me, and Chris came out to do an estimate in August 2012 to replace a couple of pieces of siding and install a storm door. I really liked him and was confident that he'd do a great job. His wife, Tracy, corresponded with me via email. Unfortunately, my job was rescheduled three times due to scheduling conflicts. As pleasant and professional as Chris and Tracy Brusa were in their communications, it is not acceptable to me to have a small job postponed for three months. I got the feeling that my small job was not worth their effort. I would have appreciated being told that the job was too small, rather than being led on and having so many months wasted. If there truly were scheduling conflicts, then their scheduling process clearly needs updating. I wish them the best, but I won't be calling them again.

We were very pleased with the work that Chris and his employee did. When I called him I reached his voice mail instructing me to send an email with information on what I wanted done. I promptly received a message back with a date and time he could come out to provide us with an estimate. He arrived on time and was very professional- taking notes on what needed to be done. He also gave us a verbal estimate, and told us it would take approximately a half day to complete. He then asked me to email his wife ( who books his appointments) and let her know the date we expected the tile order to arrive. We were in a bit of a hurry to get these repairs done and I was given an appointment that worked with our timeline and schedule. He replaced a few broken ceramic tiles, did various re-grouting on the walls and two shower stalls, and some wall and ceiling paint in one of the shower stalls.

They get a lot done. Hope to have then back soon.

We're very pleased that we can highly recommend Chris Brusa, a very talented handyman. Initial contact with Chris was expertly facilitated by Chris' wife, Tracy, via email. Throughout the 2 day project both Chris and his assistant, Dave, were professional, prompt and personable. Chris offered many helpful suggestions some of which also saved us money! He was also willing to accommodate our requests for specific materials to be used. They worked continually 10 hours each day (hourly rate) until all jobs were completed. We're very fussy about quality and Chris surpassed our expectations. Not only did they do a great job, but they cleaned up so well, you would not have known that anyone had been working! It's been a pleasure to work with a reliable professional like Chris. We'll be calling him again.

He was a little slow getting the estimate to us for the work.Once we scheduled the work, he showed up on the date planned.The work was finished in two days.The bill was the same as the estimate.

Chris did some small projects and one big one - a rebuild of a very large shed that was in disrepair. He did a great job jacking the shed up, replacing the entire floor, sill, floor joists, etc. and then re-shingling the outside. It took longer than we'd hoped but he had given me fair warning that it might. In the end we were very pleased with the result. Overall I was pleased with the outcome and with Chris' craftsmanship. Perhaps most importantly, Chris was reliable, trustworthy and a good communicator - he showed up when he said he would, and worked nonstop all day (important since I was paying an hourly rate).

I saw the deal for Central Mass Handyman and figured it would be a good deal. Chris had good references and a top rating from the BBB. I had a photo of what I wanted and Chris not only agreed to it but had some great suggestions that enhanced the finished product (see pix) He was prompt in every aspect ...returning phone calls and e-mails, arriving on time and putting in 10 full hours each day he and his helper were here. They were careful not to track dirt into the rest of the house and cleaned up each day. The project turned out to be slightly larger than originally anticipated but Chris and I discussed it and I agreed to the additional charge for the two hours required to complete the job. I was extremely pleased with the final product.

We most definitely got our money's worth from Chris. He came out a week in advance to discuss the projects we needed done as part of his 2 hours project planning, then used the remaining 1 hour of the project planning to go with my husband to the store to make sure we had the right materials for the job. Chris came out with his crew at 7:00 am on the first day, and worked straight through until after 5:00, and repeated that same schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday. He and his team worked quickly and efficiently without sacrificing the quality of the work. We are thrilled that he was able to schedule the work so soon after the deal was purchased (2 weeks) and was able to come in and get the work done so quickly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking to get work done.
